Thus far in its fourth season, Teen Wolf has been averaging around 1.7 million viewers, keeping it as the cornerstone of the MTV scripted programming boom that it began. Though the network took a while to gain its footing after the surprise success of Teen Wolf and Awkward, resulting in a string of one-season wonders and doubts about whether scripted content could be viable on MTV, there’s been some forward movement with the success of faux lesbian comedy Faking It and kidnapping drama Finding Carter. Next in line for MTV are comedy Happyland, which takes place at an amusement park, stars Bianca Santos (The Fosters), and premieres this fall; and Shannara, a straight-to-series adaptation of the fantasy novel series by Terry Brooks.

Teen Wolf, which will be without the services of Crystal Reed and Daniel Sharman, will return for its fourth season Monday, June 23rd at 10:00. Aside from reintroducing a villain from Beacon Hills’ past, this season will consist of 12 episodes, down from the 24 episodes that made up season three. Ridiculousness, meanwhile, is set to return Thursday, July 10th at 10:00, with Rob Dyrdek, Sterling “Steelo” Brim, and Chanel “West Coast” taking on the world of viral videos.

After premiering new comedy Faking It earlier this month, MTV will be premiering new drama Finding Carter Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00. The series, which stars Kathryn Prescott (Skins), tells the story of Carter, a teenage girl who thought she had the perfect life until discovering that the woman she thought was her mother actually abducted her when she was a toddler and raised her as her own child. Also coming to MTV this summer is Snack-Off, a reality-competition series from the mind of Rob Dyrdek. Hosted by Eddie Huang, the series finds amateur cooks battling it out in snack inspired challenges and will premiere Thursday, July 10th at 10:30.

In addition to renewing The Real World, Snooki & JWOWW, and Girl Code, MTV announced three series that should be premiering in the near future: Slednecks, a half-hour docu-series about a group of friends living in Alaska; One Bad Choice, which explores the consequences of bad decisions made by young people; and Beyond Dance, a competition series that challenges professional dancers to move in ways that go beyond what they know.

From Stiles feeling like he’s losing his mind to Allison hallucinating about Aunt Kate, from Lydia and Isaac encountering masked demons to a dark spirit that draws its power from pain lurking in the shadows, this season of Teen Wolf will expand the evils that those in Beacon Hills thought possible and put everyone who knows of the supernatural presence in town in greater danger than they’ve been before. While Scott and company have been able to make it through past threats against their safety, they’ve never had to deal with anything like this upcoming onslaught of villains and will have to learn quickly how to contain them before it’s too late.

The second half of Teen Wolf‘s third season is set to premiere Monday, January 6th at 10:00 on MTV, with new after show Wolf Watch to air at 11:00. The series was renewed for a fourth season, likely to premiere summer 2014, this past October.

Aside from confirming that Teen Wolf‘s winter season will begin January 6th, MTV revealed that the fall season of Awkward and the third season of Snooki & JWOWW will both debut in October, though no concrete premiere dates have been announced. Additionally, the network will be unveiling two new docuseries to go along with said established hits in Generation Cryo, about children who were conceived through anonymous sperm donors, and Nurses, following a group of travel nurses assigned to work at an Orange County hospital for 13 weeks. The former will premiere sometime this November, while the latter is set to make its debut on an undetermined date this fall.

In terms of development, MTV has named Jay Beattie (Revenge, Criminal Minds) and Dan Dworkin (Revenge, Criminal Minds) as writers for the highly anticipated series adaptation of horror movie franchise Scream. The network also announced two new pilots, including high school buddy comedy Faking It and Happyland, which tells the story of a girl whose mother works at a theme park. No new drama pilots have been added to the MTV development roster, however.

The premiere date announcement came during the show’s fourth consecutive visit to Comic-Con, which also wrought a trailer for the next five episodes in Scott McCall’s journey from ordinary teenage boy to Alpha wolf. The 90-second clip highlights just how strong the show can be in presenting horror images and indicates that a showdown between Scott and Deucalion is imminent, but as far as actual plot points go, there’s not much that can be gleaned from the trailer. Scott’s mom gets taken by Deucalion and there’s a not-surprising-yet-also-kind-of-surprising kiss between two series regulars; otherwise, it’s car chases, shirtlessness, teeth baring, cryptic words, and screaming, with Scott being left without a plan regarding how to take Deucalion out for good. With the help of Dr. Deaton, Miss Morrell, and the team he has behind him, can Scott figure out how to triumph over Deucalion and embrace his status as an Alpha?

Teen Wolf airs Mondays at 10:00 on MTV. On the next episode, Scott, Allison, and Stiles seek answers from two conflicting narrators and discover a secret about the color of a werewolf’s eyes. You can check out a sneak peek here.
