The six-episode final season of White Collar picks up following the fifth season”s cliffhanger, which saw Neal disappear without his ankle bracelet. The season, which will include guest stars Ross McCall (Hooligans), Gavin Lee (The Phantom of the Opera), Bridget Regan (Legend of the Seeker), and Diahann Carroll (Julia), is said to focus on Neal, Peter, and company banding together to bring down notorious crime ring The Pink Panthers.

The popular crime drama, starring Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay, will wrap after a six-episode sixth and final season.

White Collar‘s Season 5 finale (aired January 30) saw Bomer’s Neal kidnapped by an unknown assailant, his GPS anklet cut.  The shortened final season will stand to resolve this cliffhanger, as well as tie up the rest of the series.

The cancellation comes as a surprise to White Collar fans, as the show still performs solidly in the ratings, and is one of the most recognizable cable dramas, especially with Bomer at the forefront.  However, the show is not owned by USA, though at this point in the series’ run the network is responsible for productio costs, and with such a well-known cast and location shoots in New York, White Collar is expensive to produce.

The change also comes as USA Network is going through a portfolio shift, replacing its older, though popular, shows, with new ones.

The eighth season of Psych is set to premiere Wednesday, January 8th at 9:00 with an episode that finds Gus and Shawn traveling to London and coming face-to-face with Despereaux. The third season of legal drama Suits returns Thursday, March 6th at 9:00 with the firm’s future in doubt after the murder trial and Louis threatening to expose Mike. Guest stars will include Zeljko Ivanek, Jamey Sheridan, Damon Gupton, and Patrick Fischler. Sirens premieres Thursday, March 6th at 10:00 with back-to-back episodes. The series follows three Chicago EMTs (sports nut Johnny, outspoken Hank, and new recruit Brian) as they balance their unruly personal lives with successful professional lives. Additionally, they often intersect with Theresa, a Chicago PD officer who’s also Johnny’s ex-girlfriend. Guest stars for the 10-episode first season include Jean Smart, Loretta Devine, Bill Nunn, Lenny Clarke, Nora Dunn, and John Scurti.

So what are the boys up to now? As the tag line of the show says “Sometimes it’s good to be a little bad”, in the promo clip, Neal Caffrey is trying to protect and support the FBI Agent, Mr. Peter Burke, who, we all know was framed for murder in the finale of Season 4. Neal suggests taking help from a con man, Curtis Hagen who is now a prisoner, a character which is played by the Supernatural fame, Mark Sheppard. In the clip, Neal says that it is just the beginning and he will make sure he cuts all of his strings.

The famous actor, Matt Bomer is all set for the brand new White Collar season as the con man Caffrey. Along with Matt, this season we will also see the Emmy-award winner, Zjelko Ivanek as a guest star of the show. Ivanek will be featuring in the eighth episode of the season as this ruthless businessman character who loves to indulge into unpleasant corporate takeovers and collect famous and important artifacts. He also gets chased by the FBI after having stolen millions of dollars’ worth fossil and egg of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

We will also see, the ‘Outsourced’ actress, Rebecca Hazlewood as a celebrity guest this season. She will be playing the character of a paleontologist, Dr. Reva Khatri, who is the guardian at the natural history museum and gets robbed.

The latest trailer of Season 5 of White Collar gives a brief preview of the initial few episodes, including the one where Agent Burke is seen wearing prison clothes.

The series, inspired by true events and created by White Collar‘s Jeff Eastin, revolves around a Southern California safe-house – a.k.a. Graceland – used by undercover government agents, and FBI rookie Agent Mike Waren as he learns the truth, or lies, about why he was placed at Graceland in the first place.

Graceland premiered on USA in June, and has seen lifts in its viewership since, growing to one of the summer’s top scripted dramas.  It stands apart from the lighter programming on the cable net, with grittier, serialized storytelling coupled with stunning cinamatography and captivating chracters…not to mention the plethora of secrets and lies dotting each and every storyline.

The drama will close its first season this Thursday, with Season 2 presumably premiering in Summer 2014.

The fifth season of White Collar will premiere Thursday, October 17th and find Neal having to make a deal in order to get Peter off from the murder charges. Following the season premiere will be the final six episodes of the Covert Affairs season, as Annie prepares for an impending showdown with Henry Wilcox. Beginning on Sunday, November 3rd, USA will get further into the reality show genre with It Takes a Choir, which follows choirmaster Gareth Mahone in a journey around the nation looking for some of the best choirs out there. Finally, the two-hour Psych holiday musical special is set to air December 15th; in it, Gus and Shawn have to track down a madman playwright, who escaped from the mental institution he was sentenced to six years ago.

-ION Television has added encores of Burn Notice and White Collar to its programming slate, which includes the likes of Criminal Minds, Psych, and House. There’s no word yet on when they’ll make their channel debuts, however. While Burn Notice is currently in its final season, White Collar returns this fall.

–Person of Interest fans are in for a treat at Comic-Con, as CBS has issued nearly 40,000 limited-edition hotel keycards featuring images from the hit drama. Included are one with Reese and Fitch keeping a watchful eye and one meant as a response to people thinking that the show could be a work of fiction, given recent world events.

-Put into development at Discovery today is an untitled miniseries centering on William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, Scottish patriots who were forced to deal with King Edward I of England taking over Scotland and the discontent this produced among their people.

–Ray Donovan has become the first freshman Showtime series to see a rise in the ratings for its second episode, as it garnered a 15% increase this past Sunday. Thus far in its premiere week, the fixer drama is pacing 49 percent ahead of Homeland‘s freshman season premiere week. Meanwhile, Dexter grew from its highest-rated premiere ever, marking the first time the show has increased its numbers from a premiere to a second episode.

-Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul will guest judge on tonight’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance, which will feature the top 18 battling it out to stay in the competition.

-The entire first season of CBS drama Unforgettable has been made available on CBS.com, the CBS app, and various CBS Audience Network partner sites. The series, which stars Poppy Montgomery, returns for a second season on Sunday, July 28th.

-Syfy and Trion Worlds will be giving fans of Defiance a chance to become further involved in the show, thanks to the “Play the Game. Join the Show.” in-game contest. The ten Ark Hunters who complete the most Major Arkfall events between July 8 and July 30 will compete for a chance to have their  character written onto the show. These ten semifinalists will be fleshed out  with backstories written by the show’s writing staff, which will then be  featured on Facebook, where Defiance fans will choose their five favorites. A member of the Defiance team will then select the winner, who will appear on the show. Season two of Defiance premieres in June 2014.

-NBCUniversal is set to distribute the syndicated talk show of Meredith Viera, which will debut in the fall of 2014. The show will be taped on a set meant to resemble her home and feature a mix of feel-good human interest stories, celebrities guests with stories to tell, and various lifestyle segments.

-Jenna Elfman has officially been cast in NBC’s Growing Up Fisher (formerly The Family Guide), taking over for Parker Posey. The show will premiere this midseason.

-Esquire Network has released an extended look at The Getaway, a new original series that explores the world’s greatest cities through the eyes  of a revolving cast of travel-loving celebrities. Here’s who to expect during the first season and where they’ll be going:
