-Fresh off its premiere at the Television Critics Association press tour, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD will be screened during D23 Expo 2013, a Disney fan event designed to give access to Disney films, television, and theme parks. About six weeks ahead of its September 24th television premiere, SHIELD is set to screen on Sunday, August 11th at 3:00 p.m. in the D23 Expo Center. The event itself takes place from August 9th-11th at the Anaheim Convention Center.

-Bravo has greenlit Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, about the author of a self-help book navigating her life as a newly single woman in her 40’s in Los Angeles, to pilot. The pilot was written by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Glee) and becomes the second project currently in development at the network, who recently passed on Rita, a drama starring Anna Gunn as a teacher struggling to balance her three children and chaotic job.

-Former soccer player Juan Pablo Galavis has been named the next Bachelor by ABC. His season of looking for love, and someone to introduce to his daughter Camila, will air this January. He was eliminated during the home visits that recent Bachelorette Desiree made this past season.

-Emmy winner Jaime Pressly (My Name is Earl) has joined TVLand pilot Jennifer Falls, which tells the story of a single mother who gets fired from her job and has to move back in with her mother until she gets on her feet. Pressly will play the title character, a woman who goes from a six-figure position to a waitressing job at her brother’s bar. Her most recent series was FOX’s I Hate My Teenage Daughter, where she co-starred along with Katie Finneran.

-After bowing to its strongest premiere numbers in two years, America’s Next Top Model has bumped two new episodes of Perfect Score, as the second half of its season premiere will be rebroadcast this Friday at 8:00; the first half will now be aired the previous day at 9:00, following a Vampire Diaries repeat. An all-new episode of Top Model, where the first cut is made in the group of 16 contestants, is still set to air Friday, August 9th at 9:00 on The CW. There’s no word on when (or if) the two booted Perfect Score episodes will surface.

-Kanye West will perform at the MTV Video Music Awards for the seventh time this year. The rapper joins Lady Gaga on the 2013 VMA lineup, where he’s scheduled to perform “BLKKK SKKKN HEAD” from his most recent album Yeezus. The 2013 VMAs will air live Sunday, August 25th at 9:00 on MTV.

-CBS midseason drama Intelligence has named Barry Schindel (Law and Order) as showrunner and executive producer. The series, which stars the likes of Josh Holloway (Lost) and Marg Helgenberger (CSI), will premiere Monday, February 24th at 10:00. You can check out a trailer here.

-Netflix has picked up 13th-century adventure series Marco Polo from Starz, the latter having ordered the show straight-to-series in January 2012. However, after little movement following said announcement, Starz released the project, from John Fusco (Hidalgo) and showrunner Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy). The nine-episode series, originally slated to film in China, will chronicle the famed explorer’s journey during his early years in the court of Kublai Khan.

–Community‘s Donald Glover is set to write, executive produce and play the lead in a half-hour comedy for FX. The series, tentatively titled Atlanta and currently in development, is set against the backdrop of the Atlanta music scene, which Glover grew up in.

-Issa Rae (The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl) and Larry Wilmore (The Bernie Mac Show) have teamed up for a half-hour comedy currently in development at HBO. The series, starring Rae, is said to focus on the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern day African-American woman.

–Touched by an Angel executive producer Martha Williamson is behind an upcoming Hallmark movie that could be turned into a series, should the ratings and buzz be high enough. Dead Letters, which stars Eric Mabius (Ugly Betty) and Kristin Booth (The Kennedys), follows a group of postal detectives whose mission is to deliver letters and packages  from the past, which arrive miraculously when they are needed most. It’s set to premiere Saturday, October 19th at 9:00 and would make its series premiere in 2014, should it be picked up.

-On Wednesday, July 3rd, TV Land will air “insider editions” of Hot in Cleveland, The Exes, and The Soul Man, where behind-the-scenes knowledge and factoids about the cast will pop on screen.

-The Big Brother live eviction episodes have been moved from Tuesdays to Thursdays, beginning July 11th. The show currently airs Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays.

-GSN has renewed The Chase before its series premiere airs. The series, hosted by Brooke Burns, is a one-hour quiz show that finds teams of three competing to earn as much money as they can during 60-second quick-fire question rounds. They’re facing The Beast, a 6’7″, 370 lb. Oxford graduate who will be answering questions at the same time they are and attempting to pass them in number correct, thus preventing them from banking their money.

-FOX will be previewing its Animation Domination High-Def lineup in primetime on Sunday, July 21st, with showings of Axe Cop at 9:30 and High School USA! at 9:45 replacing an American Dad rerun. The lineup officially premieres on Saturday, July 27th at 11:00.

-HBO has made the first season of The Sopranos available on-demand following the death of star James Gandolfini. Subsequent seasons will follow each month.

-ABC has officially renewed Extreme Weight Loss for a fourth season, set to premiere next summer. Starting next season, each participant will spend the first 90 days of his or her weight loss journey  at the renowned University of Colorado’s Anschutz Health and Wellness Center in  Aurora, CO.

The last remaining series from UPN, America’s Next Top Model was shifted to Fridays last season from its regular Wednesday hangout after ratings plummeted during the British Invasion cycle. The College Edition, which debuted last August, managed to hang on well enough for the show to make it to a full 20 cycles, thanks in part to the revamped judging panel, the newly introduced social media aspect, and the network’s need for cheap, reliable programming on Fridays. The show will be airing into the fall for a second consecutive season, this time along with the second season of The Carrie Diaries. As cycle 20 will be starting three weeks earlier than cycle 19, I’m assuming that the final season of Nikita will take over in late October/early November and air through the end of the fall.

Cycle 20 of America’s Next Top Model is set to feature male models competing alongside female models for the first time in the show’s history. Details have yet to be released on how this will work out (e.g. will there be two winners) and there’s no guarantee that viewers will take to the format change, but several cycles ago, Tyra promised us that normalcy is out and themed cycles are the in thing from now on. Perhaps the introduction of male models, even if for one cycle, will be the thing that gives the show the shot in the arm it needed.

The other major move that The CW announced is that 90210 will be put on hiatus for March 18th until April 8th before its final run of episodes. Taking the show’s spot is Hart of Dixie, which will air repeats after the last four episodes of The Carrie Diaries; the latter wraps up its first season before Oh Sit! premieres on April 15th. This could be a major factor in deciding the fall schedule and which bubble shows are renewed for another season. Carrie hasn’t popped in the ratings paired with 90210, while Hart has yet to break out after airing with Gossip Girl and DOA Emily Owens M.D., so putting both with their closest tonal match could help them secure places on the network next season. If the night underwhelms, however, at least one could be in trouble.

Leila finished in third place; while her aptitude for taking a photo was unparalleled in cycle 19, her performance at the final runway show, which included falling twice on her first pass down the catwalk, did her no favors with the judges. In the battle of Kiara vs. Laura, Laura managed to come out on top, thanks to her strong pre-Jamaica performance outweighing Kiara’s strong recent performance. Laura might have slipped once Leila came back into the competition, but the main thing is that she continued to impress clients, perform in challenges, and keep a certain level to her photo shoots. The Laura of Jamaica might not have been her peak, but she never fell to the level that Kiara was at before Jamaica, ensuring herself a win in the process.

America’s Next Top Model has already been renewed for a 20th cycle, which will debut in the summer of 2013. The cycle will feature both male and female models competing against one another, a first for the show.

This is it. The final episode of America’s Next Top Model cycle 19 before the finale crowns the next winner of the venerable reality franchise. All the pressure in the world is on Kiara, Laura, Leila, and Nastasia to perform their best in order to secure a slot in the finale and keep their hope of becoming Top Model alive for one more episode. They’ve already outlasted 2/3 of the cast and have done well in making it deep into the international side of the Top Model journey, but now’s the time that separates the field into those ready to become Top Model and those that might need to do a bit of growing.

Tonight on America’s Next Top Model, the girls have a photo shoot for Dream Come True, the Top Model fragrance that was introduced two cycles ago. The winner of cycle 19 will have the photo she produces in tonight’s shoot serve as part of the ad campaign for the fragrance, with one of the men in charge of the brand observing the shoot and likely playing a role in who goes home. Coming into the episode, Laura’s arguably the frontrunner of the competition, but their positioning and prior performance don’t matter right now; it’s who manages to control her nerves and put everything that she’s learned about being a model throughout the competition into one photo that could change her career.

Elsewhere on America’s Next Top Model, the models will be challenged to write a script for and star in their own commercial for the Jamaica Tourism Board. The commercial will feature each of them riding a horse in the ocean, but one of the girls has a hard time with her animal and it might cost her a shot at the finale.

America’s Next Top Model airs tonight at 8:00 on The CW.
