MTV has released the first official trailer for Finding Carter, its upcoming family drama starring Kathryn Prescott (Skins).
Created by Emily Silver (Bones), Finding Carter tells the story of Carter (Prescott), a seemingly normal teenage girl in a seemingly normal family situation. Except one night after a party gets busted up by the cops, she learns that the woman she thinks is her mother actually abducted her when she was three years old. Now Carter must leave the life she knew behind and move in with her biological family, including a twin sister and a little brother, while trying to keep the woman she always knew as her mother out of prison on kidnapping charges. But will she allow herself to get closer with her biological family and begin making up for the time they lost after she was abducted?
In addition to Prescott, Finding Carter stars Alexis Denisof (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Cynthia Watros (Lost), Anna Jacoby-Heron (Contagion), Nolan Sotillo (Prom), and Zac Pullam (Dog City).
The series premiere of Finding Carter is set to air Tuesday, July 8th at 10:00 on MTV. The series is the second new scripted series to bow on MTV this year, following comedy Faking It, which earned a second season the day of its first season finale.
Will you be watching Finding Carter? How long do you think a show with this premise can sustain itself? What will it take for Carter to open herself up to her biological family and fully accept her new home life?
