Rectify Renewed for Season 3 by SundanceTV

SundanceTV has announced that Rectify, the network’s first wholly-owned original scripted series, has been renewed for a third season. An episode count has yet to be released, though the show did go from a six-episode first season to a 10-episode second season.

Sarah Barnett, SundanceTV President, stated, “Rectify has evolved into a show much loved by critics and fans. As SundanceTV’s first scripted series, it’s gratifying to see such distinctive and unusual storytelling embraced with such passion. Ray McKinnon is a true television auteur, and we can’t wait to see where he takes us next.”

Created by Ray McKinnon (Sons of Anarchy), Rectify tells the story of Daniel Holden (Aden Young), a man who gets off of Death Row after 19 years behind bars for the murder of his teenage girlfriend. Though the DNA evidence exonerated him, his hometown still views him as the guilty party, which makes getting back into the world, something already difficult after spending nearly two decades in isolation, that much more complicated.

In addition to Young, Rectify stars Abigail Spencer (Burning Love), Adelaide Clemens (Parade’s End), J. Smith Cameron (True Blood), Clayne Crawford (Rogue), and Luke Kirby (Tell Me You Love Me).

The second season finale of Rectify airs this Thursday at 9:00 on SundanceTV.
