Mistresses 2.02 Preview: Joss and Harry Quarrel

It took a lot for Joss to even ask Harry to join her team, considering everything he and Savi have been through and are currently dealing with. This is an important transitional period for her and she doesn’t want to muck it up with personal drama, especially if said drama could force her in the middle of two people she cares deeply about. However, there just aren’t any other quality chefs in the area for her to join forces with, so until one emerges or she generates enough interest for one to seek her out, she’s going to have to figure out how to navigate life with Harry as ex-brother-in-law, friend, and co-worker.

On the next episode of Mistresses, the positive place Joss was in when Harry joined her team is quickly destroyed when the two begin quarreling over a party they’re planning for a rich housewife. In addition to the complicated personal history between the two, there’s the whole matter of Joss being especially green in the world of party planning yet being the one to give Harry, still bitter about the loss of his restaurant, orders. The situation could be made less awkward if she has a strong team aside from Harry, but he could end up being less of an asset and more of a detriment to her success if word gets around that she doesn’t have it completely together. Joss not having much experience already puts her at a disadvantage in this industry, especially when she goes after higher-profile clients, and she needs everything else in her business to be neat and everyone on her team to be compliant if she wants to make a name for herself.

Elsewhere on Mistresses, Karen testifies at Elizabeth Grey’s parole hearing, while Savi isn’t exactly enthused by having to share an office with Toni and April dives head first into a steamy affair with Daniel.

Mistresses airs Mondays at 10:00 on ABC.
