Created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (The Good Wife) and executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Get Rich or Die Tryin’), Power tells the story of James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), who runs one of the hottest clubs in New York City. Ghost has always dreamed of becoming a major power player in the city and the connections he’s made through his time at the club have put him on the path toward owning a Fortune 500 company one day. But Ghost has a secret – the club that has been frequented by many of the city’s social elites? The club that has garnered quite a bit of media coverage? It’s all a front for a drug network.
However, Ghost wants to get out of the drug game and go straight, since he’s grown more anxious about the heights the club has reached and the escalating chance of his being caught up in charges. It might not be that easy, though, when he’s responsible for the finances of a lot of people, people who might not want the face of their network to up and vanish just as the network starts becoming lucrative. Will Ghost ever be able to break away from his past so that he can have a fair shot at a future?
In addition to Hardwick, Power stars the likes of Naturi Naughton (The Playboy Club), Joseph Sikora (Boardwalk Empire), Lela Loren (Gang Related), Sinqua Walls (Teen Wolf), Kathrine Narducci (The Sopranos), and Sonya Walger (Lost).
Will you be watching Power? Does having an episode ahead of time make you more likely to sample it? Can a show that goes against the grain of what works on its network find an audience?
