Nominations for the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced Thursday morning and Orange Is the New Black, True Detective, and Silicon Valley were three of the most impactful new series, each breaking into their respective series race and earning multiple major nominations. While Orange landed acting nominations for Taylor Schilling, Kate Mulgrew, Laverne Cox, Uzo Aduba, and Natasha Lyonne, True Detective got in both Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, with Silicon Valley earning a spot in Comedy Writing and Comedy Directing. Other first time nominees include Kate McKinnon for Saturday Night Live and Lizzy Caplan for Masters of Sex.
