‘Life of Pi’ Actor Suraj Sharma Joins ‘Homeland’

Suraj+Sharma+Special+Screening+20th+Century+5f7HD-xAvVAxLife of Pi actor Suraj Sharma will be making a leap to the small screen: he has signed on to season four of Homeland, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Sharma will be joining the drama as Aayan Ibrahim, a Pakistani medical student who crosses paths with Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes).  The role is being described as heavily recurring.

Showtime also announced this week that the roles of a CIA chief of station in Pakistan and the U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan, played by Corey Stoll (House of Cards) and Laila Robins (In Treatment).

Production on season four of the CIA thriller begins later this month in South Africa, with this year’s story set in Islamabad and Kabul.  Homeland‘s new episodes will air this fall.
