golden globesThe 71st annual Golden Globe Awards are set to air live Sunday, January 12th on NBC. Nominations for the ceremony, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler most recently, will be announced Thursday, December 12th, following a November 1st deadline for submission. January’s ceremony found premium cable dominating like never before, as Homeland, Girls, and House of Lies all took home trophies. The only broadcast winner on the series television side? Maggie Smith for Downton Abbey, which airs on PBS.

-HBO has acquired the rights to Whoopi Goldberg’s directorial debut, Moms Mabley: I Got Somethin’ to Tell You. The documentary explores groundbreaking comedienne Mabley’s legacy through recently unearthed photography, rediscovered performance footage and the words of numerous celebrated comedians, entertainers and historians.

-There’ll be another Real Housewives spinoff hitting the airwaves this fall on Bravo, as the network has picked up I Dream of Nene: The Wedding, which follows the Glee star as she plans her wedding to ex-husband Gregg Leakes. No premiere date has been set.

-ABC will be putting the eight unaired episodes of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23 on Hulu, ABC.com, and iTunes on May 17th, per a Tweet from star Krysten Ritter.

-ABC has also flipped the airing order of the next two episodes of Castle, out of respect for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. What would have aired on Monday, “Still”, involved Beckett stepping on a bomb which needs to be disarmed; it will now be airing on April 29th, with the episode originally for that date (“The Squab and the Quail”, which is about Beckett guarding a billionaire) now airing April 22nd.

-The fourth season of Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush will premiere Thursday, May 2nd at 8:00. Guest stars this season include Gavin DeGraw, Cher Lloyd, Victoria Justice, Scott Baio, Lucas Cruikshank, and Yo Gabba Gabba!.

Mythbusters kicks off another round of episodes beginning May 1st, when they’ll revisit the first myth that was ever tested 10 years ago and finding out if a rocket-propelled car can actually fly. Other myths that Jamie and Adam will tackle this season include:

· Can power naps taken over a 30-hour period double your performance as opposed to staying away for 30 hours straight?
· Is a crab pot really indestructible like the Deadliest Catch captains claim it is?
· Which is more sanitary: drying your hands with a hand dryer or a hand towel?
· What is the best way to protect yourself during an earthquake?
· Is it actually possible that Indy racing drivers sweat so much that they can lose 10 pounds of body mass per race?
· Are women better than men at multitasking?
· Can you really use explosives to help paint a room?
