Starz has released the key art for the final season of Spartacus and the leader of the rebel army remains as defiant as ever.

In the poster, Spartacus is seen wielding a weapon with a golden eagle perched on top, soaked in the blood of his Roman opponents. Behind him, there’s an endless hoard of soldiers coming toward him, ready to continue the battle. Spartacus: War of the Damned finds the Champion of Capua leading an increasingly huge army of former slaves fighting for their freedom against the Romans, led by future emperor Julius Caesar and noted businessman Marcus Crassus. Their numbers may have been tiny last season, but once word got out that a band of slaves took out Glaber, more started to join their ranks and lessened the pressure on Gannicus, Agron, Crixus, and Spartacus. It came at a good time for the army, since they lost a fair amount of people in battle with the Romans, and likely saved their cause.

Now, the Romans are dealing with a group that has gained confidence and showed itself capable of bringing down strong military leaders while having reduced numbers and limited health. With all men of influence in the area gathering together to pool their resources against them, the army will be facing its greatest threat in War of the Damned, but they’ve come too far to back down now.

Spartacus: War of the Damned stars Liam McIntyre, Manu Bennett, Dan Feuerriegel, and Dustin Clare. The show will be adding several new faces this season to make up for the body count racked up in last season’s finale. Joining the cast are Christian Antidormi, Anna Hutchison, Jenna Lind, and Gwendoline Taylor, among others.

Spartacus: War of the Damned premieres Friday, January 25th at 9:00 on Starz. You can check out a preview of the season here.
