A death on The Simpsons? It seems so!
Al Jean, executive producer of the animated series dropped hints about the 25th season last week, one of the biggest being a plan to kill off a regular character.
Jean gave a clue that the actor voicing the character has won an Emmy…but that’s it. Of course, the hint doesn’t provide much help, as much of the regular cast including Dan Castellaneta (Homer), Julie Kavner (Marge), Nancy Cartwright (Bart), and Yeardley Smith (Lisa) have all won Emmys for their performances. Several guest actors have also won for their spots.
The Simpsons has previously killed off Maude Flanders, wife of the cheery neighbor Ned (season 11), and more recently, Fat Tony in season 22.
Who do you think it could be?
Jean also hinted a Stan Lee-officiated wedding for Comic Book guy, and a possible Futurama crossover for the season finale. He also noted that Guillermo del Toro will be on-board for the annual Treehouse of Horror episode (airs Oct. 6th), and that actors Zach Galifanakis and Elisabeth Moss will be lending their voices.
