Deadline is reporting that two-time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom) has joined the cast of upcoming Starz comedy Blunt Talk. She”s slated to play Rosalie Winter, the tough manager of British import Walter Blunt who helps shape her client”s latest venture.
Created by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy) and Jonathan Ames (Bored to Death), Blunt Talk stars Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as Walter Blunt, an infrequently sober media figure who arrives in America looking to reach the peak of cable news. However, it”s not as easy a venture as online casino canada he might have expected, as Blunt must deal with overbearing executives, an unqualified news staff, and a messy personal life that will cause him to take his eye off the ball on more than one occasion. The series also stars Adrian Scarborough (The King”s Speech) as Walter”s manservant Harry.
In addition to her role in the 2010 crime drama, Weaver has appeared in the likes of Silver Linings Playbook, Stoker, and The Five-Year Engagement. She”ll be portraying mysterious Susan Wright on Gracepoint, FOX”s upcoming adaptation of crime drama Broadchurch, later this fall.
Blunt Talk is set to premiere on Starz next year. The series will be one of several 2015 debuts for the premiere cable network, including ballet drama Flesh and Bone, anthology The Girlfriend Experience, and farming drama One Percent.
