Foggy is a man with a passion for improving the community in a town full of crime and corruption, a characteristic that makes him a friend to its many residents.

Henson stars in the upcoming Hunger Games: Mockingjay films, and can be remembered for his roles in She’s All That and the Mighty Ducks films.  He joins a cast that includes Vincent D’Onofrio as the villainous Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk and most recent addition, Rosario Dawson.

Marvel’s Daredevil follows Murdock who fights injustice as a lawyer by day, and Daredevil by night.

The series is set to debue in 2015.

Deadline is reporting that Patrick Fabian (Veronica Mars), Rhea Seehorn (Franklin & Bash) and Orphan Black‘s Michael Mando have all signed on to star in the spin-off.

The show features Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman, and Fabian and Seehorn will play fellow lawyers Burt and Beth (last names unknown), while Mando will play a career criminal named Eddie.

These three join Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks, who will be reprising his role as Mike Ehrmantraut.  Michael McKean will also appear on Better Call Saul as Dr. Thurber, and attorner who is “restricted by an unusual affliction.”

Better Call Saul is currently slated to premiere in November on AMC.

Anne Heche has signed on to play Lynn,  the head of the FBI office in Jerusalem, and the boss – and occasional lover – of Jason Isaacs’s character, Peter.  While investigating the murder of a young female archaeologist, Peter uncovers a conspiracy 2000 years old.

Heche’s character is described as tough and unafraid to rip into her team when they slip up, though she also has a sense of humor and softer side.

Heche recently finished a brief run on NBC’s Save Me.  Her other televisio credits include Men In Trees, Hung, and Lifetime movie Gracie’s Choice.  

Dig comes from co-creators Tim Kring of Heroes and Gideon Raff of Homeland, who executive produce with Gail Berman and Gene Stei of Tecumseh Productions.  The project is set to film in Israel and air later this year.

Secrets & Lies is a crime drama revolving around a family man, Ben (to be played by Ryan Phillippe), who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy.  Strickland will play the role of Ben’s wife Christy.  Given the allegations against her husband, who discovered the boy’s body, Christy will have to deal with complicated feelings.

Juliette Lewis (Wayward Pines) has been cast as the investigating detective on the case, and Natalie Martinez (Under the Dome) will play the dead boy’s mother.

The project already has a 10-episode order from ABC.

Napoleon Dynamite

The comedy centers on a mother (Jane Kaczmarek) who shocks her 30-something son with a new marriage after being single for two decades.  Plus, her new husband is bringing home his own three children.

Heder will be playing Richard, her son, who is described as a “rare combination of intense intelligence and sloth-like underachiever.”

The role marks Heder’s first role as a series regular on television since Fox’s animated remake series based on Napoleon Dynamite.  His other credits include: Robot Chicken, My Name Is Earl, and Dead Grandma.

Earlier this week JAG‘s David James Elliot was announced as Kaczmarek’s character’s new husband.

How I Met Your Dad

Greta Gerwig has snagged the lead role in the much talked-about spinoff pilot.

She will be playing Sally, who will follow the HIMYM pattern and gradually reveal how she met her partner through a series of flashbacks.  Sally is being described as “a female Peter Pan who has never grown up and has no idea of where she’s going in life.  She has just figured out that she has nothing in common with her husband of less than a year.  A break-up is inevitable, but Sally will find a solid circle of support in her friends and family, who are often too willing to give ‘good’ advice that can backfire badly.  Meanwhile, Sally must filter out the input and decide what’s best for her.”

Given that extensive description it is easy to see that the series will take some welcome departures from the HIMYM style.  Though a comedy, it would appear that How I Met Your Dad might air slightly on the more serious side – really, just a different tone than the soon-to-be-ending series it has spun from.

Gerwig is mainly known as an indie actress and filmmaker rather than a television personality, which makes her an almost surprising choice for the noteworthy role.  On television, Gerwig has previously given her voice for the Adult Swim show China, II.  She has also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Frances Ha, and appeared in the Russell Brand remake of Arthur.  

Gerwig will also be recieving a producer credit for HIMYD. 

Only one question remains….who will be Gerwig’s future voice?

Robin Lord Taylor will be joining the series as Oswald Cobblepot, better known as the Penguin.  Having “the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal, Oswald Cobblepot is a low-level psychopath for gangster Fish Mooney who hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanor.”  Taylor has made several guest appearances, most recently on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon) has also signed on as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler.  “A tough-as-nails ex-marine from East London, Alfred Pennyworth has loyally served the Waynes. Now, in the wake of their tragic deaths, he’s fiercely protective of the young Bruce Wayne.”

Further, Zabryna Guevara (Burn Notice) has been cast in the role of Captain Essen, Detective Gordon’s boss at the Gotham City Police Department who “balances the two worlds of police and politics with a Machiavellian skill that’s as much corporate litigator as cop.”

Erin Richards (Being Human) will play Barbara Kean, Gordon’s fiance: “A sophisticated emergency room doctor, Barbara is the fiancée of James Gordon, joyful but with an edge of vulnerability. She stands by her future husband…which can be difficult in a world as corrupt as Gotham.”

Young Bruce Wayne has yet to be cast, though it has been noted that he will be featured in the drama.

Modern Family

The episode will feature Claire stressed out during the high school’s open house while Gloria encounters a ‘mean girl’ mom (Jane Krakowski), and Jay teaches Phil how to play hookie.  Elsewhere in the episode Mitchell gets defensive when dealing with his environmentalist neighbor (Jesse Eisenberg), and Alex sees a therapist (John Benjamin Hickey).

Eisenberg is known for his role in 2010’s The Social Network and will be lending his voice to the upcoming animated feature Rio 2.  Jane Krakowski won a Tony award for her performance in “Nine,” and can of course be seen on 30 Rock, while John Benjamin Hickey’s theatre credits include “Cabaret,” “The Crucible,” and most recently, the acclaimed “The Normal Heart.”

“Under Pressure” airs January 15th at 9 PM on ABC, and new episodes of Modern Family return next Wednesday, January 8th.

Williams has recurred throughout the comedy”s run as Ted”s on-again, off-again girlfriend Victoria, whom he met at a wedding…just not the right wedding.  She will be making one last visit to the series this spring, TVLine is reporting.

There are few details to be had, but Victoria is expected to appear in the season”s 19th episode, No matter in which the sprawling resort- best casino project eventually ends up being built, it may depend on a steady flow of foreign high-paint rollers because of Sands’ unique frequent flyer program. airing close to, if not in April.

When we last saw Victoria, she broke up with Ted after he refused to cut ties with Robin.  Knowing her career as a baker, is it possible she”s bringing Barney and Robin”s wedding cake?

The winter finale of How I Met Your Mother airs this Monday, December 16th at 8 PM on CBS.

According to TV Guide, the crime drama has cast Frances Fisher (Titanic) to appear in an upcoming Devil Wears Prada-themed episode.  The episode, yet untitled, but scheduled to air next month has “a little Devil Wears Prada feel to it with an Anna Wintour type character,” said the show’s creator Andrew Marlowe.  Wintour, of course, the editor-in-chief of Vogue who inspired Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly in the novel and film.  

But that’s not all.  “In investigating the case, we discover that the Anna Wintour character, Matilda King, who runs this magazine, Modern Fashion, crossed paths with Beckett when she briefly flirted with a career as a model.  If you remember back to season two (episode: “Inventing the Girl”), we learned that Detective Kate Beckett was once, in fact, a model in her younger days.

Fisher’s television credits also include Touch, The Shield, Eureka and many more.

The episode is currently scheduled to air on January 27th.
