MONDAY, MAY 12 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. As soon as I saw that black svu in Castle’s rear view mirror, I started screaming “No, No!” and I didn’t stop till well after the episode ended. I just can’t believe that’s how the season 6 finale ended. Major cliffhanger! I have to give props to Terri Miller & Andrew W. Marlowe though. It was a great episode. I was nervous about the finale, but as the episode progressed I really thought we were going to get our Caskett wedding. Boy was I wrong! You have no idea how happy I am that we are getting a season 7. Not that there was any doubt but still.

So let me dry my tears a bit because I want to start at the beginning, because as much as I want to discuss that crazy ending, there were lots of great stuff during “For Better or Worse.”

First of all, Beckett was already married! Apparently she is not a one and done kinda girl. In her defense, Beckett didn’t even realize she was married. Kate and her then college boyfriend, Rogan O’Leary went through the drive thru of love in Las Vegas as a joke (drunk) and got married.

Beckett then went to find Rogan so she could get him to sign the papers to end their marriage and found out he’s quite a piece of work and not in a good way. First Rogan made Beckett break into the truck belonging to his ex-girlfriend, then Beckett saw Rogan being abducted. Rogan was such a schemer that not even the local police wanted to go look for him.

I thought the whole husband storyline was pretty funny, and I laughed so hard when it turned out Rogan knew the entire time that him and Beckett were married. He had told his girlfriend that his wife was in a coma! Such a schemer! Rogan was using the whole wife in a coma thing as an excuse not to fully commit to Tildy.

I won’t get into great detail about the whole blackmailing a pastor thing since I want to discuss the Caskett wedding but Rogan had photos of the pastor with a stripper. Helping people was the pastor’s calling. I’m sure it was. It was bad enough Rogan had photos of the pastor, but he also had photos of Mickey Barbosa. Barbosa the mob hit man who disappeared a decade before. It was quite the brilliant play that Castle and Beckett brought in the biker gang that Rogan owed money to, to claim the reward for Mickey.

Rogan finally signed the papers and Castle and Beckett could get married! All happy right? Well, not so fast. During Beckett’s little trip to end her marriage, they lost their wedding venue. Ever so smart Alexis suggested they could move the whole party to their Hampton’s house. I thought that was such a fantastic idea. Why didn’t they think of that as their venue in the first place? Ryan’s tux was too small, even though Alexis checked the measurements a ton of times. So many jokes there.

The next disaster (many people didn’t think so) was that Kate’s wedding dress got ruined! Lanie got to deliver the bad news to Kate that a pipe burst in the apartment above Kate’s and the dress Matilda King gave to Beckett in Dressed to Kill S6 Ep14 was destroyed.

“One big sign – ours is a great love story, what’s a great love story without obstacles to overcome. Every fairytale has them . We want the happy ending, we can’t give up.”

A sign of things to come? Regardless, it was such a sweet, honest moment between Castle and Beckett. He always has the right words to calm her down. The bad seemed to be going away and it looked like we were going to get our happy ending after all. Beckett was wearing her mother’s wedding dress, and looked so beautiful. It was like it was made for her. Even though she couldn’t be there, it was like a piece of her was there to support her daughter. Another moment that made me tear up was between Kate and Martha. Martha thanked Beckett for making Castle so happy.

Martha gave Kate the most beautiful pair of blue earrings. They were given to Martha by her mother to wear on her wedding day and given to her mother before that. “Only women of substance have wore these gems. They’ve been waiting Katherine for you.” My friend pointed out that Martha obviously didn’t think Richard’s previous wives were worthy and I’d definitely agree with that statement. Katherine is an extraordinary woman. It’s not to say Gina and Meredith aren’t special but none of them are Beckett. It was such a beautiful moment between the two of them. I’ve always loved the relationship between Martha and Kate. There’s a mutual respect there.

And now for that ending. I got scary flashbacks from Downton Abbey and I didn’t like it one bit. From the moment I saw that black svu I knew something bad was going to happen and Kate getting a phone call after Castle was an hour late wasn’t a good sign. What a devastating ending. I had such a bad feeling going into this episode, but the way the things were going I thought, “Hey! Maybe they would get married.” I should have known better. The tears started up when Kate got the phone call, and when she ran out of the car to see Castle’s car up in flames they just continued well after the credits.

I can’t even begin to process the ending. I’m sure I’ll have more thoughts in the days to come. I was pretty sad at the season 2 finale of Castle, when Castle went off with Gina but this is on a whole other level. It was just so devastating seeing Beckett so happy and minutes later her whole world was torn apart. Stana played the scene perfectly. She didn’t even need to say a word. She said it all in her expressions. All the joy in the world and in one instant everything can change. Seeing her crying will be an image that will haunt me the entire summer.

How are we going to survive this hiatus? I have so many muffled thoughts running through my mind. I don’t believe Castle is in the car. How could he? The show is called Castle! He can’t be dead. Could it be that Jerry Tyson kidnapped him? Do you think somehow Bracken is behind this? Or is this a whole new mythology Marlowe spoke about in that interview. What are your theories? We have many months to speculate. This will be the longest hiatus ever! In Marlowe We Trust…

Soundbites and other things from “For Better or Worse”

According to Gates, she ran into a wall and got a black eye before her wedding day.

“He’s got a smile that’ll make your pants fall off” – Rogan’s neighbour

Rogan’s nickname for Beckett was “Kit Kat”

A Captain Castle name plate on Castle’s desk

“You were gonna have naked ladies at your party too?” – Castle

“No, Mrs O’Leary, I’m not okay.” – Castle

Castle screaming like a little girl!!!

“Listen to man parts. Let’s get the hell out of here” – Rogan

“Congratulations Rogan, you accidentally stole photos of a fugitive mobster.” – Beckett

Adorable Lanie and Esposito moment before the wedding.

The case of the week was pretty good, but I was totally drawn into the B plot with Espo and Ryan. Those two chuckle heads were hilarious! Every time they would try and be friendly towards Castle in the hopes Castle would choose one of them as his best man I busted a gut laughing. They were so transparent but it was so hilarious to watch.

Of course, I totally knew Castle wasn’t going to pick either of them but it was still pretty funny to watch them vying to be his best man. I really loved when Ryan and Espo went to Lanie so she could decide between the two of them. Lanie shot them down because it’s not her decision to make. Seriously guys? What did they think?

In the end, Ryan and Espo confronted Castle and told him he doesn’t have to choose. They’ll both be his best man. Castle told them he was flattered and honored but he already decided on a best man. Castle asked Alexis to be his best man. I just thought that was totally adorable and such a Castle thing to do. Good news though, Castle wanted Ryan and Espo as his groomsmen. I can’t wait to see the shenanigans they get into at Castle’s bachelor party. If they don’t show it, I really hope they at least mention the craziness that went down.

Other awesome wedding news we learned this episode was that Kate asked Lanie to be her maid of honor. I am so extremely happy about this, you have no idea! I really wish we would have seen Kate officially ask her but that’s alright. You gotta love Lanie’s enthusiasm, “The dress is the right mix of elegant and saucy.” I can’t wait to see this dress and I cannot wait to see this wedding!

“Law & Boarder” also showcased Castle’s crazy competitive side which was brought out when him and Beckett were playing Scrabble. She beat him once and of course Castle being Castle couldn’t let that happen again, so he wanted a rematch. Beckett ended up beating him again! I could not stop laughing. Castle was being all confident he was going to win and Beckett busted out the word, Quixotic for the win. I’m not even going to pretend like I know what that word meant before last night.

The last scene won the entire episode for me. Castle wanted another rematch but Beckett had another idea. Strip poker! Oh my little Caskett heart pretty much exploded. I’m just going to quote the entire scene for you and you can imagine it in your heads. Oh, by the way, Kate was in a bra the entire scene. These two will never, ever be a boring married couple.

“Your bet?” – Castle

“I think I’m gonna go all in” – Kate

“Me too, but all I have left to bet with is this shirt” – Castle

“I’ll take that bet” – Kate

“What do you got?” – Castle

“Who cares” – Kate

“This is so much better than scrabble” – Castle

“Yeah” – Kate

Funny lines and other bits:

Alexis and Kate fist bump.

Kate’s gorgeous ponytail. (Why don’t my ponytails every look like that?)

“A reigning champion unable to cope with defeat… that sounds familiar.” – Beckett

“I admit I am extreme… Extremely handsome.” – Castle

“I think catching killers is pretty extreme… and then there’s marrying you.” – Beckett

“I hope not too tired to… you know.” – Castle

“That’s a notion created to comfort those who lose.” – Castle

Thank you Jim Adler! Welcome to Team Castle! After just one episode, I already love you. Coffee, apples, ice cubes, always, rain, swings, handshakes, and now scrabble will never be the same again and I’m perfectly okay with that. My huge smile turned into a huge gasp after they showed the promo for next week’s episode, “Veritas.” Hold on to your seats my fellow Castle lovers, it’s going to be a crazy ride!

Monday night’s episode was the first for Adam Frost and I thought he did a great job. I can’t wait to see more from him. I thought “Room 147” was pretty case heavy and I usually don’t really enjoy those but we got some really great character moments that I’ve been wanting to see for a while so I didn’t really mind. Plus the case was really intriguing, so that helped. All in all, I really liked the episode.

I really won’t go into great detail about the case, but the way it was broken down was great, and pretty hilarious at times. I thought it was really cool that Kelly Kruger guest starred this week as Laura, since I used to watch her as Mackenzie Browning on The Young and the Restless. She’s also from Montreal, where I live so that was pretty cool.

Monday night’s episode had quite the historic moment. Castle was completely theoryless! No crazy theory! That’s just not natural. Well, later on he did come up with something pretty interesting that gave us this hilarious moment between Castle and Beckett.

Kate: “Castle, no please. If this is some alternate universe theory I’m not in the mood.”

Castle: “Really? Alternate universe, that’s how little you think of me?”

Kate: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I just thought that you”

Castle: “No, they’re psychically linked and not just to each other. But to the actual killer. So they’ve seen the crime through his or her eyes and the experience is so visual that both Sam and Anita think that they committed the crime by themselves.”

Kate: “I’m sorry. It’s just that you got excited. It’s kinda cute.”

Castle: “Yeah yeah yeah. You know how I like the weird stuff.”

I just loved how frustrated Kate got every time another person came into the precinct to confess to killing Justin.

Kate: “If I have to hear that confession one more time, I’m gonna shoot somebody.”

I have to say, it was pretty hilarious and Stana was great! It was bad enough they had two people confessing to the murder of Justin Marquette, but then they got a third! Poor Dwight. The guy didn’t even get a chance to confess.

Dwight: “I need to confess!”

Beckett: “Ya, take a number.”

Even at the end of the episode Dwight still wanted to confess. Poor guy felt left out. Great job by Bradford Anderson, another daytime alum.

Oh! How great was it that Dr. Holloway was brought back? I’m sure you all remember Dr. Holloway from Season 2 Episode 6 “The Vampire Weekend.”

Castle: “Dr. Holloway. Say hello to the nice psychiatrist, Feggin. Hello.”

[Castle places Feggin on Beckett’s shoulder.]

Dr. Holloway: “I will arrange for someone from Social Services to come get Mr. Lockerby. And if you want, I can have someone get him, too.”

Beckett (mouths)

“Yes, please.”

I love when the show does a throwback to past episodes. Castle always does such a great job with those.

I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one that loved the scene between Kate and Alexis. I’ve been waiting for that moment for a really long time and it was perfect. At the beginning of the episode Alexis ended up staying over at the loft and Castle suggested Alexis just move back home. Alexis said no but there was definitely another reason she wasn’t going to come home. Kate sensed something wasn’t right and later met up with Alexis.

This moment brought me back to S6 EP7 “Like Father, Like Daughter” when Beckett spoke to Lanie about Castle’s relationship with Alexis.

Kate: “He and Alexis have this whole history that has nothing to do with me and it kind of feels like when it comes to the two of them, I’m always gonna be on the outside.”

Lanie: “It’s going to be up to you to find a way to make your baggage match their baggage. It’s up to you to make your own history.”

Kate really stepped up and reached out to Alexis and it made me so happy.

Kate: “And you also said that there were other reasons why you didn’t want to move back and I just… I wanna make sure that one of those reasons isn’t me.”

Alexis: “Oh no. No, it’s not you at all.”

Kate: “Cause the last thing I wanna do is make you feel unwelcome in your own home.”

I loved that Kate met up with Alexis. Kate wanted to know why Alexis didn’t want to move back home. Kate wanted to make sure it wasn’t because of her. Alexis didn’t want to move back because Castle was right. It was a mistake moving in with Pi and she didn’t want Castle to know that she made a mistake. I felt for Alexis and I know where she was coming from. I hate showing my parents they were right about something. I’d rather suffer than wave the white flag in defeat. Alexis wished she could have seen it before and Kate, the wise one said it was because of the love haze.

Kate: “It’s like a drug. It makes intelligent people do stupid things.”

I think Alexis had to go through her Pi period even though it was excruciating for us and Castle at times. It’s all about growing up. We all makes mistakes, it’s how we deal with the aftermath that counts. I absolutely loved this sweet scene between Kate and Alexis. In fact, I love all scenes between those two. Kate usually just wants to help and doesn’t want to interfere. This was something we’d been missing for a while now. I know earlier in the season we got a really sweet moment between Alexis and Kate at the precinct but we didn’t get to hear their conversation. Stana and Molly are great together. Maybe now we’ll get more scenes with them.

At the end of the episode Alexis showed up and asked if she could come home. I’m glad that Alexis’ talk with Beckett worked and she reconsidered coming home. The smile on Castle’s face was pure magic. Now things should be interesting with everyone under the same roof. Hijinks ensue! I say they should all play a game of laser tag. Maybe Beckett will defeat the forces of Voltar? A girl can dream.

What did you guys think of this week’s episode? Sound off below.

Soundbites from “Room 147”

Castle: “11 seconds to a confession. That’s got to be your personal best.”

Castle: “You should know you’re engaged to a genius.”

Kate: “Yes, a genius at annoying me.”

Castle: “Do I smell coffee?”

Kate: “If you do it was made by elves.”

Kate: “Yeah, I think we all just kickstarted our day.”

Kate: “It’s okay Castle, you know I like the weird ones.”

Kate: “How do you know what I do to you while you’re sleeping.”

Monday night’s episode of Castle was fantastic and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying this, I cannot wait till Castle and Beckett have a little one of their own.

The case this week was great, but to be honest, I felt like it was the B plot and I didn’t mind one bit. I just wanted to see everyone interact with baby Cosmo. Yes I know, his name was really Benny, but I just adored the fact that Castle named him Cosmo, and dressed him up in the cutest turkey onesie. Castle was really adorable holding the baby, and even more adorable after he dubbed himself having a RHD in child care, “Ruggedly handsome dad.”

There were so many amazing lines and moments from “The Good, The Bad and the Baby” I’m surprised my head didn’t explode. I do have to say, Alexis totally won the episode. Her line, “How long have I been gone?” after walking into the loft and seeing Martha feeding Cosmo and Castle and Beckett passed out on the couch had me in stitches. I’m smiling like a little school girl just thinking about that scene. Castle volunteering to take in baby Cosmo was the best idea he’s probably ever had.

Kate reading a baby book, and Castle bribing baby Cosmo to stop crying were two things I thought I’ d never see. Cosmo puking on Castle and then Kate holding the little one was hilarious. I really loved while Kate was holding Cosmo, a version of Caskett’s theme played in the background and Kate had this amazing smile while looking at Castle. You could totally tell she was thinking, “Hey, maybe I can do this whole baby thing with Castle.” I just found that moment so sweet. Kate was so not a baby person but she definitely grew to be one by the end of the episode. I do have to say, the way Castle and Beckett changed Cosmo’s diaper was awesome. They were doing it like they build theory together. Castle and Beckett make such an incredible team. I love watching earlier episodes and then recent ones just to see how far they’ve both come as individual’s and as a couple. Let me point out how adorable it was that Castle and Beckett had probably their most important conversation to date while Beckett was standing in a dumpster.

I really felt for Castle when he was telling Beckett how Meredith wasn’t around and he pretty much raised Alexis on his own. Castle thought taking in Cosmo was a good way of getting Kate comfortable around a baby. My heart really melted when Kate told Castle, “When the time comes, there is no way I’m gonna let you take care of our baby on your own.” I really did love that Kate didn’t shy away from the baby talk with Castle even though she wasn’t really a baby person. Beckett has grown so much as a character since the beginning. It really is fantastic. They are going to make great parents, if they do have children. Just thinking about it is making me giddy.

Other then Castle and Beckett’s adorableness with baby Cosmo, we got to see Ryan interact with the little one. It was both adorable and hilarious. Ryan really believed he was ready for fatherhood, but freaked out every time Cosmo would start to cry. I loved that Esposito had to talk Ryan down. Javier told him that no one’s really ready for parenthood. Ryan’s just going to have to learn as he goes along. Ryan cares and he’ll be just fine.

I loved that Lanie got to spend a little time with Cosmo. Her baby talk while holding him was too cute and she seemed like a natural with baby Cosmo. Captain Gates even got to spend time with Cosmo. There’s something really incredible about a baby and the way even the toughest adults turn to mush around them.

Ryan was absolutely hilarious this episode with his obsession with the huge lottery jackpot. I would even say it helped with the solving the murder of Cameron Ducane. It looked like Cameron and his crew fixed the lottery but that wasn’t the whole story. Cameron’s boss pressured Cameron into the plan because he found out about Cameron’s criminal past and threatened to fire him and jeopardize everything him and his wife were trying to build. Even the head of security of the building was in on the plan. They took Miranda Vail, the lottery announcer’s baby, Cosmo/Benny and her husband Paul as hostages. They made her switch the briefcase with the briefcase with the fixed balls. Cameron ended up saving Cosmo/Benny’s life by taking him and running. Thus sacrificing his own life for Benny’s. The families reunion with Benny was heartwarming.

Another hilarious moment belonged to Alexis when she told Castle and Beckett if they have a baby in a few years, and she has one also, both babies could grow up together. Thus ruining that whole moment. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. As if the whole episode wasn’t already cute and funny, the last scene with Beckett dressed up as Pocahontas took the cake. Castle was only kidding about the whole dressing up thing but Kate was prepared and made Castle dress up as a pilgrim. “Better put this on, Pilgrim.” Kate seriously rocks! Gotta love that high five she gave Martha. Just an all around fantastic mid season finale episode.

Terri Edda Miller is an absolute genius. She knows exactly what the fandom wants and delivers in spades. In fact, the whole writing staff, directors, actors, everyone involved with this show have been absolutely amazing. Castle is in its 6th season and I see no signs of it slowing down. Monday’s episode proved just that. I have liked every episode this season so far, (some more than others) but I’m going to say “The Good, The Bad and the Baby” is my favourite this season. It definitely has earned a purchase on iTunes and a permanent spot on my iPod so I can watch it over, and over and over again. I just have to survive till the show comes back in January 2014.

What did you guys think of the episode? Sound off below. Check out some funny lines from the episode. If I missed any, write them below.

Memorable lines from this episode:

“I’m sure I’ll feel differently when we have one of our own.” – Kate

“I’m the baby whisperer.” – Castle

“Must be hungry too, he keeps on going for the girls” – Lanie

“Who could blame him?” – Castle

“What do you say Beckett? Wanna have a baby? Come on, it’ll be fun!” – Castle

“You stay here. That’s evidence, watch those balls!” – Kate

“Nah, not touching it.” – Castle

“When we do this, let’s not do the dead body in the middle of the aisle.” – Castle

“You see this face? It’s the face of your future.” – Castle

Castle and Alexis working on the case together helped repair their strained relationship, and get justice for Kim’s murder. Molly Quinn was phenomenal and she showcased what an incredible talent she truly is.

When it’s come to Caskett, we really haven’t had that many moments lately, but when we have gotten them, they’re perfection. Kate and Rick discussing wedding venues was adorable. Ever since they got engaged I’ve been waiting for this discussion between the two of them. Of course Castle would suggest getting married in space. The guy has property on the moon. Why wouldn’t he want to get married in space?

Beckett: I am not getting married in space.

Castle: Why not? We could be the first. Commercial space flight is only a couple years away and you said you wanted it to be special.

Beckett: Yes, because when I was a little girl imagining my wedding day being stuck in a small tin can with a thousand ton of rocket fuel strapped to my ass was exactly what I had in mind.

The case this week was probably one of my favourites Castle has ever done. I don’t know why, but I love death row cases. They always have such a sense of urgency and intensity to them. Even though Alexis still wasn’t talking to Castle and she already exhausted all other avenues, she realized she had no other choice but to go to Castle for help about the case. I get that Alexis was still mad at Castle, but it hurt me that she was so snippy towards him. I’m glad as the case went on she warmed up towards him. I’m going to be all corny and say Alexis and Castle working together was like them against the world.

Monday’s episode proved that Alexis is definitely her father’s daughter. Castle never gives up and neither does Alexis. You really had to applaud her determination to get justice and help free Frank before his execution. Alexis has really grown into her own and she’s not a little girl anymore. Even though Frank wanted to give up, Alexis wasn’t going to. She was so determined, and so emotional. My heart was breaking for her.

Thanks to Alexis and Castle’s determination they got to the truth and what a twist that truth was! That whole time Frank believed he was covering for his brother John for the murder of Kim. Thanks to Castle and Alexis’ and the rest of the team, we learned that police officer Lane was the real killer. That same police officer that was so rude to Alexis and Castle earlier in the episode. The look on his face as he was being found out was priceless. Justice was served!

I loved an earlier scene in the episode when Castle called Beckett totally freaked out about not being able to help Frank. Kate always has this amazing way of calming Castle down. Kate saying she was there for Castle and Alexis was so sweet. I loved that Kate took it upon herself to get that evidence to Lanie, something Alexis could have done if she would have just asked. Lanie convinced a contact to run the evidence after hours. I love that during this episode we got to see so much of Lanie. Much more than the whole season so far combined.

Speaking of Lanie, thank you Castle writers for having Kate voice her concerns to Lanie about feeling like an outsider with Castle and Alexis. I just wish Kate had voiced her concerns to Castle. I’ll take what I can get. Kate feeling like an outsider brought me back to S3 EP5, “Anatomy of A Murder.” Gina felt the exact same way as Beckett. “You built a wall around Alexis like you didn’t want anyone else to be close to her. When it came to the two of you I was on the outside looking in. I don’t want to feel like an outsider anymore.” You could tell Kate was hurt that Alexis went to everyone else about the case, but her. I can understand where Kate was coming from. Kate is about to become a part of the family, and Alexis is shutting her out. I’m not sure if Alexis was doing that because she was mad at her father or if there was something else going on. Alexis and Kate have always had a good relationship. Remember when Alexis went to Kate and asked about her semester abroad? Alexis also helped Kate with Castle’s surprise last season. I was just so elated that Alexis went to Kate at the end of the episode and apologized. We didn’t get to hear their conversation but from what we saw they spoke and hugged and whatever differences Alexis had with Kate, everything was good now. I couldn’t help but tear up when they hugged and Castle smiled.

“Like Father, Like Daughter” was one of my favourite episodes this season. We learned the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree and Alexis is quite the seeker of justice. I’m also very happy that Alexis apologized to Castle. The strain between them was killing me. Now that Alexis and Castle have repaired their relationship, they all can move forward. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I could really see Alexis doing the same work as Johanna Beckett. Defending people who normally go overlooked and getting to the truth. I just can’t wait until Castle and Beckett really start planning their wedding. You know Castle is going to have many more wacky ideas and having their wedding in space was just the beginning.

Soundbites from “Like Father, Like Daughter”

“So you some kind of lawyer?” – Frank

“Oh, No” – Castle

“Cop?” – Frank

“No, I’m a mystery writer” – Castle

“We need to talk to Kim’s mother” – Castle and Alexis in-sync

“Now that was weird. Usually I do that with Beckett” – Castle

“She hasn’t gone to Perlmutter yet.” – Lanie

“Well no one does if they can help it.” – Kate

“Perfect families don’t exist. It’s gonna be up to you to find a way to make your baggage match their baggage. It’s up to you to make your own history.” – Lanie

What did you guys think of the episode? To the ones that have been annoyed by Alexis lately, did this episode change your mind? Sound off below.

Three of my favorite past times.” We didn’t get any gambling, but we sure did get a lot of secrets and one heck of a murder. Monday night’s episode of Castle, “Get a Clue” was a thrilling and pretty emotional episode.

The episode started off with Castle and Martha going over to Alexis and Pi’s apartment for dinner. I was impressed, it was actually a cute place. Castle was obviously not please about the situation and it showed. Martha was her charming, positive self. I really love that about Martha. Castle’s negativity was making Alexis uncomfortable and I didn’t blame her. Molly Quinn played it perfectly. Castle was hoping this thing with Pi would blow over, but it hasn’t. I think Castle just has to roll with it. He has to know, the more he pushes Alexis, the more she’s going to gravitate towards Pi.

So, the case this week had many crazy theories, sword fighting and millions of dollars worth of half dimes. To be honest, I enjoyed “Get a Clue”, but it wasn’t one of my favourites this season. It did have some really good moments. I laughed at Beckett when she was making crazy theories. She’s usually the voice of reason so it freaked Castle out since crazy theories is his department. I had to shake my head at Beckett when she said she couldn’t believe Castle actually believed the crazy theory in that letter by the Freemason, Theodore Rose. Does Kate know Castle at all? I always love how passionate Castle gets about the cases, especially the really wacky ones but this time it felt like Castle was going a little over the top. I was a little bit surprised Esposito agreed with Castle on that Da Vinci Code theory. I do have to say, it was a good theory.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who loved the sword fighting scene with Castle and that actor. It brought me back to the early Castle days when Castle had that fencing duel with Alexis in episode S1Ep7. I really do love the callbacks to earlier episodes. Makes me feel all nostalgic. So, the actor guy who was having the fight with Castle said that this whole thing was all part of a scavenger hunt. Well NOW things are starting to make sense. I was kind of wishing that the whole Da Vinci Code thing was for real. Of course, it was just a game. But wait, even though the letter was part of the game, thanks to Castle’s determination we found out this case wasn’t just about a game like we thought. Another part of the episode I really enjoyed was Castle putting his hand in the mouth and screaming like a mad man. It reminded me of that scene in the movie “Only You” or if you want to go really back, “Roman Holiday.” I always admire Beckett for keeping such a level head on these crazy cases. You have to have a balance since Castle is usually the wacky one out of the two.

Holy National Treasure Batman! In the coffin, there was the 1792 half dimes, the very first coins to be minted by the U.S. Treasury. Of course, taking it caused the door to be shut and Castle and Beckett locked inside the secret room. Why wouldn’t it? Later, we found out Nolan Burns the director of the Historical Institute set up the whole game for the sole purpose of getting his hands on the coins. It turns out Susannah our victim was a direct descendant of Theodore Rose. The killer was Susannah’s cousin Henry. I didn’t see that coming. Henry was the one that signed up for the game with an assumed name. Susannah wanted to give away the coins to the people but of course Henry couldn’t have that. They were arguing and the next thing you knew, Henry killed her.

I’m not sure about anyone else, but I got quite emotional watching the ending with Alexis and Castle. Alexis was so upset with Castle, and I have to say I didn’t blame her one bit. Castle apologized, but it wasn’t enough for Alexis because she knows it’s just words. Alexis was still really mad about how she found out Castle proposed to Kate. Turns out she didn’t hear the news from Castle, but from Martha over the phone. I have to say, that’s a pretty hard pill to swallow. Considering how close Alexis and Castle have been over the years, that’s unacceptable. I’m not sure if anyone else has a twinge of pain when Alexis said to Castle referring to Kate, “I don’t know if it’s a good idea, or if she’s really the one.” I don’t know if Alexis said that to Castle because she was hurt, or if it’s something she really feels. Maybe Kate and Alexis need to have a heart to heart one of these episodes. I hope Alexis doesn’t feel that Castle would ever replace her with Kate. I do have to say, this episode I was impressed with Molly Quinn. She really held her own with Nathan. Nathan wasn’t too shabby either. You really did see the hurt in his eyes when he was talking to Alexis. Castle really has his work cut out for him. I just hope he comes around about Pi, for Alexis’ sake. They have one of the best father daughter relationships on television and I don’t want to see that strained because of a disagreement about a guy.

“Get a Clue” soundbites:

“It’s as though he’s turned being a charming man child into a career.” – Castle

“Now that doesn’t sound familiar does it?” – Beckett

“Yes, I saw National Treasure.” – Kate

“Freemason black belt.” – Esposito

“They sent their monk assassin to kill her.” – Castle

“There are times where I wish she stayed in D.C.” – Ryan

“These monks, they’re in it, up to their hoods.” – Castle

“This is not my idea of going to the chapel with you.” – Castle

“It’s not what you say, but what’s inside.” – Alexis

So, what did you guys think of tonight’s episode? Do you think Castle and Alexis’ relationship will get worse before it gets better? Sound off below.

I wouldn’t expect anything less from Andrew W. Marlowe.

Like many times this season, there were so many other things to deal with, that I really didn’t care about the case of the week. It’s not to say it wasn’t good, because it was. I was just so focused on Castle and Beckett, that I really didn’t care about anything else. The case did bring out guest star Mekenna Melvin, another Chuck alum. She had a small scene, but it was so great to see her on television.

The interactions between the characters tonight were just amazing. Castle and Alexis moments are always a personal favourite of mine and tonight they didn’t disappoint. Alexis wanted to go to Costa Rica for a school program and Castle didn’t want her to go because of Paris. Alexis, always so brilliant and strong, didn’t want to stop living her life because of her kidnapping. She didn’t want fear to win. It’s truly amazing how she’s grown over the years into this strong, intelligent woman. She’s right though. You can’t let fear dictate your life. Maybe there’s an underlying theme there. It seems like maybe Castle is letting his 2 failed marriages wreak havoc on his relationship with Beckett. Sometimes you just have to let go and not live with the fear of screwing things up, because that will in fact be it’s undoing.

I personally loved Gates confronting Beckett about her job interview in Washington. I never for one second thought Gates would be mad at Beckett. Gates in fact gave Beckett her highest recommendation. Gates believed this was an incredible opportunity for Beckett and wished she herself would have had an opportunity like that. Beckett is a smart, tenacious, and innovative thinker and is headed for bigger things and even Gates knows that. Things have never been perfect between these two, but I really like where their relationship is at now. Who knows what’s going to happen in the future, but I’m glad they shared this moment.

One of my favourite moments of the finale belonged to Kate and Lanie. I’ve always said we need more scenes like this with these two. I’m so happy we got this scene during the finale. I was just so happy Kate finally opened up about her interview with someone. I actually got a bit angry when Kate said to Lanie, “We never talk about where we’re going” in regards to Castle. Yes, Castle has never brought it up, but Kate hasn’t also. She’s in this relationship too, and if she wants to know where things stand, she should have brought it up to Castle. She really needed to just talk to Castle about the interview already. I really hated the fact that she was constantly lying to him. The guy stood around for hours while she was on a bomb. She owed him that much.

Another scene I totally loved was Esposito talking to Ryan about noticing something weird going on with Beckett. I laughed when Ryan immediately went to thinking Beckett was pregnant. I have to say though, it was the perfect transition to announcing to Javier that Jenny was pregnant. I sort of forgot Ryan hadn’t announced it to anyone yet. I love these kinds of moments between these two guys.

Now let’s talk about the scene that first broke my heart. First of all, how cute was Beckett making dinner with Castle? Well, the cuteness faded away real fast when Castle saw the boarding pass that fell out of Kate’s Jacket. Hallelujah! She finally told him about the interview. Although, it didn’t come out because she wanted to. It came out because she was caught. It seems like this is a pattern. Should I bring up the fact that Kate didn’t really come out and tell Castle Mr. Fantastic tried to kiss her. Castle kept on questioning things and then Kate came out with the truth. Castle was clearly upset with Kate because she lied and hid the job interview from him, and to tell you the truth, I didn’t blame him one bit. Yes Kate, it is about your life and I agree, you do have a chance to do more, but it would be without Castle. Castle was really hurt that Kate didn’t include him. I would feel the exact same way if my boyfriend went for a job interview in another city and didn’t even bother to let me know. Kate, you’re in a relationship with Castle now, you owed him the truth. By her keeping this from him, she made it a million times worse. Beckett had to have known deep down this would hurt Castle and yet she still hid it from him. This thought crossed my mind. If the boarding pass didn’t fall out of her jacket, when would have Beckett told Castle about the interview? I don’t hate that Beckett went for the interview. I just hate that she hid it from Castle. She has this amazing opportunity and she didn’t even tell the man she loves. I would say it says more about Beckett than her relationship with Castle.

One of the many things I love about this show is the relationships between parent and child. Whether it’s Castle and Alexis, Castle and Martha, or Kate and Jim, all of those scenes are always so amazing. Tonight was no different. I loved that Richard went to Martha for advice. Martha was right in telling Richard that Katherine deserved this opportunity. I think deep down, Castle knew that. He just needed to get past his anger first. Always the voice of reason, Martha told Richard he’s holding back with Beckett for some reason. Maybe deep down, he doesn’t believe his relationship with Beckett is going to really work?

“I know you, you don’t hold back, except this thing with Katherine. It took you what, 3 years to tell her how you felt about her, another year to act on it and now the first sign of trouble you run… why?” – Martha

Then the moment came when we found out Beckett got the job. I never doubted for a moment she wasn’t going to get it. Just like Castle, Beckett went to her father for advice. You could see how conflicted Beckett was. As much as I was annoyed with Beckett lying to Castle, I really felt horrible for her. Her and Castle have never discussed their relationship (which they are both to blame IMO) so she doesn’t know what her and Castle have. “We’ve been doing this dance for the past 5 years and what happens when the music stops? What if all we were in love with was the dance?” It just really saddened me that Beckett was afraid Castle was going to hate her. As much as Castle was angry that she lied to him, I would hate to think he would ever hate her.

When Beckett was looking around the interrogation room, I really got the sense she was feeling like it was her last time and she wanted to make it count. It was quite depressing seeing her walking down the hall and looking around at the desks. Did she make her decision already and chose the D.C. job? We all have to be realistic. With Beckett in D.C. would we really have a show?

I literally jumped for joy when Beckett called Castle to talk. The moment I saw that swing set I burst into tears and my heart was racing so fast it could have competed in the Indy 500. I loved that Kate apologized. She was wrong, she knew it. Then came Castle’s turn. He wanted more, they both deserved more. The screams you heard next was from me, and I’m not apologizing. Castle proposed!!!!!! I honestly had no idea where that scene was headed. I truly thought Castle was going to tell Beckett to take the job in D.C. because he didn’t want to hold her back from this amazing opportunity that she clearly deserved. Now we must wait this long hiatus for Kate’s answer. Will Kate say yes? What was Kate going to tell Castle? How will this proposal affect her decision? How long has Castle had this ring? Did he buy it after his conversation with Martha? So many questions! This will seriously be the longest hiatus ever! Is it September yet?

This whole season has been incredible and I for one cannot wait to see what tricks Marlowe & Co. have up their sleeves for season 6.

So, I will leave you guys with these words from one of my favourite episodes and moments from the series.

“The last thing you want to do is look back on your life and wonder, if only.”

My feelings are jumbled in a big knot. How I can let one show affect me like that is crazy. I was on such an emotional roller coaster throughout the whole entire episode, and at the end I was left with my mouth hanging down yelling, “ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?” You know what? I absolutely loved every second of it. I need to tip my hat to Jason Wilborn and my friend Sarah’s friend Adam Frost who came up with the story. I am just blown away by the quality of this show week after week.

This episode will always hold a special place in my heart because my friends and I were on location one of the days they were filming. I thought it was so cool that I saw many of the extras multiple times that day walking up and down the street and to then see them on screen was just incredible. It’s experiences like that, that really heighten your love for a show. To see how hard the cast and crew works to put out an episode makes you appreciate them even more.

Beckett had to protect billionaire hottie Eric Vaughn because his life was in danger. Castle was so jealous of Vaughn it was quite amusing. This also brought out a little nutty case solving Castle. At one point he was quite high off caffeine. After Castle pretty much chose a video game over Kate, it was good to see someone show an interest in her. Maybe shake Castle up a bit. (Seriously Castle? You were ignoring Kate while she was trying to seduce you. Are you crazy man?) I thought the whole Castle taking Kate for granted storyline was quite realistic. It has been a year since they first got together. They still haven’t had “the talk” so this isn’t so out of left field. I had to chuckle at Castle noticing Kate swooning over Eric Vaughn. Why wouldn’t she? He’s gorgeous, rich, and I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t choose a video game over her. I was even swooning over him! Damn that smile and accent. And ladies, I saw him while on location… really gorgeous in person.

We all know Kate Beckett would never cheat on Castle, but the moment after Vaughn hit himself in the eye with the cork from the champagne was a little too close for comfort for me. Maybe Kate was feeling like Castle wasn’t appreciating her and here’s this amazing billionaire obviously interested in her. It actually hurt me a little when Beckett hesitated when asked by Vaughn if her and Castle were serious. I’ve analyzed this “almost” kiss more times then I’d like to admit and you can disagree with me if you want, but Beckett totally let Vaughn come in for a kiss then she pushed him away. Good thing she did because someone shot at Vaughn through the window.

I loved Castle running into the hotel room to see if Beckett was okay after the assassination attempt on Vaughn. Despite Castle being a dope sometimes, he loves Kate and would do anything for her, so my heart totally sank at the sight of Castle’s face when he saw the champagne bottle. I know a lot of people are saying Kate told Castle the truth about the kiss, but it was only after Castle was prodding her story that she told him the truth. I don’t think she was going to lie to him, but she didn’t tell him the truth right off the bat.

I have to say, I really enjoyed the case of the week. I loved how both story lines were intertwined. Just when you thought Mr. Fantastic wasn’t so fantastic, we got a nice little twist. Vaughn’s attorney ended up being the one trying to kill Vaughn. I really did think Vaughn was behind the attempt on his own life. It would have been too easy though. It would make the audience be justified in hating this guy hitting on Beckett if he were the bad guy.

Now to the nitty gritty. That ending! I was absolutely done after that scene. I didn’t like that facial expression Kate made and the change in music. It made me so nervous. You could see the doubts building. In my heart, Kate has loved Castle a lot longer than she has even admitted to herself. Even though she hasn’t said the words, every one knows she loves Castle. Then you have this handsome billionaire who has expressed interest in her, and on the other hand you have Castle who obviously loves her but could chose a video game over her. They’ve never had the “where are we going?” conversation. I could see why Kate was conflicted. I’m just really happy she didn’t let Vaughn kiss her. It could have been real easy to kiss him. That would have just caused more harm than good. I just hate that she said her and Castle’s relationship is complicated. That statement hurt my heart. Of course Mr. Fantastic came back with:

“Kate, there’s nothing complicated about meeting a woman like you and knowing what to do.”

All I’ve got to say is Castle better step up his game. I welcome angst, and in this situation it was totally warranted. Nothing is perfect. No relationship is perfect. It’s real. This is what real couples go through. Castle and Beckett are just going to come out of this even stronger. While I understand Kate’s side of this, there’s Castle’s side also. He’s had 2 failed marriages. He has his walls that he’s put up. He’s with this woman whom he loves undeniably and doesn’t want to screw it up. As my genius friend said, it’s easy for an outsider to come in and say it’s simple. Vaughn doesn’t know Castle and Beckett’s history. As a matter of fact, this was less about Vaughn and more about Castle/Beckett. Vaughn was just a tool to facilitate them having these conversations going forward. Obviously Castle is it for Kate. Kate just needs to know Castle is in it with her.

Moments I loved

“My mother loves your novels.” Eric to Castle

“He’s not you.” Kate to Castle

“And unlike you, his helicopter doesn’t need a remote control.” Javier to Castle

Lanie with a fake British accent

“Beckett is over the moon for you.” – Alexis to Castle

“Vaughn is way sexier than George Clooney.” Martha

Martha mentioning there’s no ring on Beckett’s finger.

Moment that drove me nuts

Vaughn: “You know that’s an extraordinary woman you have there.”

Castle: “I know.”

Vaughn: “Do you?”

I have to say Castle is one of the best shows on television right now. In it’s 5th season, Castle is showing no signs of slowing down. 100 episodes down, hopefully 100 more episodes to go.

As it stands now, I’ve watched “The Lives of Others” 6 times. It just gets better and better every time I watch it. You catch many different things every time you watch it. The first time around Kate’s concern for Castle comes off as concern for his sanity, while he’s re-creating this rear window scenario. The second, third, and fourth time you know Kate has planned this whole thing and is probably struggling with keeping this charade from Castle. Terri Miller & Andrew W. Marlowe are geniuses. I absolutely loved their cameo appearance. It fit in so well and didn’t feel forced at all.

“The Lives of Others” had everything I love about Castle. Great Caskett moments, cute Castle and Alexis scenes, funny Ryan and Esposito scenes and heart pumping moments. The 100th episode stayed true to what Castle is all about and that’s why it was so incredibly successful. I will say this, I really didn’t care about the case of the week. It’s not that it wasn’t interesting, I just was so enthralled with Castle spying on his “murderous” neighbour. At one point I even forgot Beckett and co. were solving a murder case. I’m not sure if Marlowe and company intended for this, but for once I didn’t mind not caring about the murder case.

If someone were to ask me what my favourite moments from the episode were I could take the easy way out and say the entire episode, but where’s the fun in that?

“It’s a spa trip darling, not a guilt trip.” – Martha

Ryan and Espo’s Charlie’s Angels pose.

Castle playing with the helicopter. “Looks like we got some beautiful clear skies with us today. A nice tail wind is gonna get us there right away folks. We’ll be there zero dark thirty, zero dark quarter two.”

Castle looking through the binoculars and seeing Andrew W. Marlowe and Terri Miller. “Must be writers.”

Castle calling Beckett while looking though the magnifying glass.

Beckett and her cryptic smile while hugging Castle.

Castle and Beckett’s argument after Castle saw the neighbour washing what he thought was blood off his hands. It was quite heated, but we saw how convinced Castle was that the neighbour committed this crime. We really got the sense that Kate was conflicted. The first time watching “The Lives of Others”, Esposito’s “Should we be worried?” came off as concern for Castle’s well being. The second time around, it came off as concern and probably questioning if they should keep going with the plan.

Castle and Alexis looking through the binoculars. Such a cute father and daughter moment.

Castle breaking in his neighbours apartment. I couldn’t stop laughing when Castle fell. He was like a poor little turtle trying to get up.

Beckett: “You’re talking about an illegal search”, Castle: “When you do it, it’s an illegal search, when I do it, it’s just illegal.”

Captain Gates ripping Castle a new one after security found Castle and Beckett breaking in the storage unit. “Hey Castle, is it hard to balance on those crutches when you just had your ass chewed off?” – Esposito

Kate sticking her tongue out at Castle.

I had the biggest grin on my face when Castle exclaimed “This is without a doubt the greatest birthday gift of my life.” I just love that Kate planned this whole elaborate scheme for Castle’s birthday. Nobody had ever done anything like that for Castle before and it was just perfect. Of course I was really happy that we got another Caskett kiss with great lighting.

I just loved Castle’s determination and passion throughout the whole episode. He was so convinced the neighbour actually murdered his girlfriend and wouldn’t stop investigating. This episode really stayed true to Castle’s character. Castle’s imagination does get the better of him sometimes but that’s what makes him so great. I love that I got to enjoy this amazing episode with my friends who love Castle as much as I do. It’s what made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Being able to share these moments with your friends. It’s something that we’ll always share.

In the thrilling conclusion of this amazing 2-parter we got to finally meet Richard Castle’s equally ruggedly handsome father played by James Brolin. Can I just say, nicely done Martha! “Hunt” was so intense, my heart was racing pretty much the entire episode. I was literally on the edge of my seat. Just seeing Castle so emotional was making me cry. “Hunt” is one of my favourite episodes this season. In fact, “Target” and “Hunt” just surpassed “Tick, Tick, Tick…” and “Boom” as my favourite 2-parter Castle has ever done.

There are many reasons why I watch Castle alone, but one of them is because I tend to talk and yell at my television a good part of the time. Last night was no different. I think I yelled out, “What about Alexis?!” at least 10 times when the kidnappers were letting Sara go. My heart sank for Castle. Then it literally broke when Castle walked away from Kate to tell Martha what had happened. You would think I’d be mad at this show for breaking my heart so many times in 2 weeks but I love this show even more.

Castle really meant it when he said he’d do anything to save his daughter and he did so by taking off for Paris. I could see why he did it but I hate that he lied to both Kate and Martha. I loved what Beckett said though, “He’s acting like a father, I have to act like a cop.” Kate can go off the reservation sometimes as we saw a few episodes ago but in the end she was a professional and did whatever was possible to save Alexis.

After the kidnappers didn’t release Alexis, I started to realize this case was so much more than we thought. Just the mention of spies made my eyes light up. Castle was just so emotionally compromised, I got such a bad feeling. My first WTF moment came when we found out Alexis was the target not her friend Sara. My other WTF moment came when Henri sold Castle out. At that point I yelled out a few expletive’s that shall not be repeated. This episode was just insane.

Can I just say, bravo to the casting department. Getting James Brolin to play Richard Castle’s father is just pure brilliance. I loved his, “Get in the car” line. A total throw back of the days of Beckett saying “Stay in the car, Castle.” As if I wasn’t freaking out already, I totally freaked out even more at the mention of the name Volkov. I wonder if the Castle writers are fans of Chuck? A baddy named Volkov was the mastermind behind the kidnapping. Pretty close to Alexei Volkoff, the baddy from Chuck. Gotta love it!

Freak out moment #20 – “Richard, I am your father.” Seriously? They totally killed me with that line. Ever since “Linchpin” there was speculation Richard’s father was in the intelligence community. It was great that this was confirmed. It was also confirmed it was because of his father, Castle first got access to the CIA for his book research. I just loved Castle with his dad. I hope there’s many more moments to come. I absolutely loved when he said to Castle, “You’ve been playing cop for years. You wanna play spy?” Total squee moment if there was one.

The tears started back up again when Castle was brought to Alexis. Then the tears went away and my jaw literally fell to the ground when the charge went off and the bad guys blew up. I didn’t think my heart was even intact anymore, but it broke even more when Castle wanted more time with his father. I’m pretty sure everyone that knows me, knows I totally freaked out when his father said “Always.” It’s such a trigger word for me. I could hear someone say it at work or while I’m out and I automatically squee and think of Castle. Yes, I am well aware I am a freak.

Before I get into the ending, I need to discuss that interrogation scene. There have been some pretty amazing interrogation scenes in this show, but the one in “Hunt” is just the best. I’m even going to be so bold as to say it’s the best one I’ve ever seen on any show! Just give Stana all the awards please. Kate kicked the chair from underneath the table while Henson’s girlfriend was sitting on it!! I got some serious shivers down my spine when Kate said, “I’m not a cop today, honey.” Pure perfection! I think I fell even more in love with Kate Beckett. If that’s actually possible. Just like her facial expressions, Stana just rocks the interrogation scenes. I could watch them all day long.

I absolutely loved the ending. Castle and Alexis were just too cute for words. I would say he’s one of the best father’s on television. Who would have guessed that when this series first started? We always talk about Beckett’s progression during the years, what about Castle? He’s grown so much as a man and father. My heart melted when Beckett gave that huge hug to Castle and said “Please don’t do anything like that again without me.” We also got a Caskett kiss with crap lighting. Ok! who wants to start sending lightbulbs to Marlowe and co.? Come on man! You’re killing us here. Here’s hoping the 100th episode will have many bright kisses. I also really loved the Kate and Alexis hug. They were even walking arm in arm. I would really love to see more of their relationship going forward. Castle, Kate, Alexis, and Martha were just so adorable. I love all 4 of them together.

My heart is racing like mad just thinking about “Hunt”. Such an incredible episode. The whole Castle team just amazes me week after week. I literally fall in love with this show more and more after each episode. This show always makes my heart melt.

Now we have to wait 3 weeks for an all-new episode. A re-watch is definitely in order. Don’t worry, I have many incredible episodes to choose from.
