Created by John Logan (Gladiator), the first season of Penny Dreadful focused on African explorer Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) and the search for his kidnapped daughter Mina (Olivia Llewellyn). With the help of enigmatic Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), a friend from Mina’s past, as well as Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadway), Malcolm must locate his daughter before any harm can be done to her by her supernatural captors.

Debuting to 1.44 million viewers this past April, Penny Dreadful stars Reeve Carney (Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark) as lonely, self-isolating Dorian Gray; Rory Kinnear (Skyfall) as reanimated corpse Caliban, who tracks down the man who brought him back and demands a mate; and Billie Piper (Secret Diary of a Call Girl) as Irish immigrant Brona Croft, a woman seeking escape from her troubled past.

After a tough school year pounding the pavement in Brooklyn, he wants to spend time with his kids, get in a little writing on his second novel, and find a way to slow down for once in his life, but all that gets thrown for a look when he meets Alison (Ruth Wilson). Still grieving a loss in her life, Alison meets Noah at a quiet diner one morning and the two feel an instant attraction to each other, though since both of them are married, neither of them decide to pursue whatever it was that they felt between them.

Until, that is, they run into one another later that night. Still curious about their connection and the possibility that the other possesses something that their respective spouse doesn’t, Noah and Alison let things go further than they had intended, something that could threaten their marriages and the lives they had worked so hard to build.

In addition to West and Wilson, The Affair stars Joshua Jackson (Dawson’s Creek) as Alison’s husband Cole and Maura Tierney (Rescue Me) as Noah’s wife Helen.

On the series premiere of The Affair, Noah has an encounter with Alison, a waitress having trouble getting over a recent tragedy, on the first day of his summer jaunt to Montauk. Despite the attraction that he feels toward her, partially fueled by his own desperation to escape a particularly rough morning with the kids, Noah treats the experience as all that it was – a hungry family grabbing a bite to eat and a food service worker doing her job. However, once Noah runs into Alison for a second time, this time on the beach late one night, he begins to wonder whether fate is pushing him toward this woman for one reason or another. He’d never thought about stepping out on Helen, as he loves her deeply, their sex life is nothing to complain about, and he wouldn’t want to jeopardize the life they build together, but he knows that there’s something between him and Alison that he must explore or else he’ll always be wondering about what could have been.

Jackie’s been obstinate enough about the way she lives her life and how she handles her addiction, but could getting arrested serve as her rock bottom? And will Barry be someone able to help her begin the journey to sobriety and wellness?

In addition to his role on the USA drama, Feuerstein has appeared on the likes of The West Wing, Masters of Horror, and The Hustler. He’s the second new addition announced for the seventh season of Nurse Jackie, with Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub set to portray the newest ER doctor at the hospital.

The seventh and final season of Nurse Jackie will premiere in the spring of 2015. Production on the season is currently underway in New York.

Along with The Big C, United States of Tara, and Weeds, the series was a part of a wave of Showtime dramedies centered on damaged middle-aged women, with performances by Falco and Emmy winner Merritt Wever drawing critical raves and awards attention. After some wheel-spinning seasons, the show began to make Jackie pay for the lies she had to tell in order to further her addiction, first by having her confront the death of a friend in season four and then by having her get into legal trouble at the end of season six. Now that she’s stuck in the web of the United States legal system for a crime that’s far and away the most serious she’s committed in the name of her addiction, will Jackie be forced to confront the impact that her addiction has had on her life? Or has she been an addict for long enough that there’s no pulling her back from self-destruction?

While original Nurse Jackie cast member Peter Facinelli left the series at the end of last season, season seven will see three-time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub (Monk) joining the cast as an ER doctor who has a special way of dealing with Gloria. Additional casting information should be released the further the show gets into production.

Production on the seventh and final season of Nurse Jackie, which should premiere in the spring of 2015, recently began.

Additionally, Helen McCrory (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) and Simon Russell Beale (King Lear) have been promoted to series regulars after recurring during season one. McCrory, who plays shifty medium Madame Kali, is said to be the primary antagonist of the second season, while Beale’s Egyptologist Ferdinand Lyle will continue to advise Sir Malcolm and company about the impending threats coming their way.

In addition to her prolific stage career, LuPone has appeared on the likes of American Horror Story: Coven, Life Goes On, and Oz. Also joining the cast of Penny Dreadful for season two are Douglas Hodge (Robin Hood) as Scotland Yard investigator Bartholomew Rusk, hell-bent on figuring out who’s responsible for the recent string of murders in London; Sarah Green (Vikings) as Madame Kali’s daughter Hecate; and Jonny Beauchamp (How to Make It in America) as a young man with a singular past.

Set in Islamabad and Kabul, the fourth season of Homeland finds Carrie putting as much physical distance as she can between herself and Washington, as she goes out in the field for the first time since the whole Brody situation began. Carrie is good at what she does and to keep from wallowing in the pain from losing Brody and the uncertainty that comes with being a new mother, she has to get back into the field and prove to both her doubters and herself that she’s still a worthwhile agent. But will Carrie be able to fully escape her past or is what happened with Brody so engrained in her that she won’t be able to shake it off and do her job?

Joining Homeland this season are Laila Robins (Bored to Death) as United States ambassador Martha Boyd; Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as CIA Station Chief Sandy Bachman; Nimrat Kaur (The Lunchbox) as Tasleem Qureshi, a member of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence; and Suraj Sharma (Life of Pi) as Pakistani medical student Aayan Ibrahim.

The fourth season of Homeland is set to premiere Sunday, October 5th at 9:00.
