The network’s finales begin Thursday, April 17th with Community and Parenthood, both on the NBC bubble for next season, with Wednesday, May 21st being the only other night two shows conclude with Law & Order: SVU and Chicago PD. Otherwise, NBC has scattered its season finales through the May Sweeps period, with the likes of Revolution and Hannibal, both with current undecided futures, set to conclude after the network announces its schedule for next season.

Finale information for About a Boy, Growing Up Fisher, Believe, Crisis, and American Dream Builders will be released at a later date.

2014 May Sweeps extend from April 24th through May 21st, while NBC will unveil its 2014-2015 schedule Sunday, May 11th. The networks that have yet to reveal their season finale dates (ABC, FOX, and CBS) should be doing so in the coming weeks, likely around the same time summer schedules come out.

Which NBC finale are you most looking forward to? Are you surprised that nothing is getting a two-hour send-off? What do you think the network’s schedule will look like next season?

There will be two additional new faces joining Arrow this season, as Kevin Alejandro (True Blood) and Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite) are set to play vengeful alderman Sebastian Blood (aka Brother Blood) and Ben Taylor, a claw-wielding assassin otherwise known as the Bronze Tiger, respectively. The latter will also be forming an alliance with China White.

-Amy Acker (Angel) has been promoted to a series regular on Person of Interest, where she’s portrayed Machiavellian cyber-hacker Root in seven episodes. There’ll also be an opportunity for fans to join in the series with the Person of Interest Social Photo Opportunity, which will give the show’s fans on Facebook the ability to submit photos for a chance to become a “person of interest” at some point during season three. Like Dead, Talking Bad features Hardwick recapping that night’s Breaking Bad episode, taking questions and comments from viewers, and interviewing those associated with the show (actors, producers) and TV experts alike. The final eight episodes of Breaking Bad will premiere earlier that night at 9:00.

-A balloon of Finn and Jake from Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time will fly in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28th. It marks the first time the Emmy nominated animated series will be featured.

The ninth season of Supernatural is set to premiere Tuesday, October 15th at 9:00.

–Revolution has added Stephen Collins (7th Heaven) to its cast for the second season. The veteran actor will be playing Rachel’s father, according to TV Guide.

-A Simpsons/Family Guy crossover will be airing in the fall of 2014, according to FOX. “The Simpsons Guy” finds the Griffins ending up in Springfield and being fully embraced by the Simpson family. Also in Family Guy news, the show is having a contest for those who think they have the best Stewie Griffin impression around. Fans can send in their best Stewie on the I am Stewie section of FamilyGuy.com, with the winner (selected by producers) having their voice featured in the upcoming season premiere and earning a three-day/two-night trip for two to attend Family Guy Live at the Just4Laughs Festival in Toronto, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.

The actress is set to play a family member of Morning’s in one episode of the show, though there’s no word on how she’ll be introduced.

When we last left Episodes, whose second season finale aired in August 2012, Sean and Beverly had reconciled after spending a season torn apart due to her fling with Matt and issues with the network. Carol was confronted with the opportunity of a lifetime when she was offered the job of network head, although she’d have to choose between staying loyal to Merc and advancing her career. With Merc’s dismissal, the future of Pucks is now in doubt, as the show lost its (initial) major champion in Merc and now its ratings woes can’t be covered up by pride. It’ll have to stand on its own if there is to be a second season and thanks to Sean and Beverly working things out, there might be a fighting chance for them to right the ship. And for the first time, that’s something that they both want to happen.

In addition to her role on the NBC post-apocalyptic drama, which moves to Wednesdays at 8:00 next season, Spiridakos has appeared on the likes of Being Human, Hellcats, and Tower Prep. She’ll join Chris Diamantopoulos in being new characters on Episodes, with the actor portraying the new head of the network now that Merc has been fired.

The nine-episode third season of Episodes is currently in production in London and will begin shooting in Los Angeles next month for an early 2014 premiere. Given that Showtime’s January 2014 lineup is already set (Shameless, House of Lies, and Californication), it will likely be pushed to April for a presumed pairing with Nurse Jackie and an hour-long drama to be named later.

Will you be watching Episodes next season? How do you think Spiridakos will be introduced into the world of Episodes? Who else would you like to see appear on the show?

“On the verge of our 2013 fall scheduling decisions, we’re pleased to renew five drama series that will be important to our new season line-up,” Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, said. “We’re proud and very appreciative of all of the actors, producers, writers and directors who work so hard to deliver such high-quality work week in and week out. These complex shows represent a broad range of genres and tones, and all of them stand out for us in a television landscape now filled with one-hour series. We’re especially pleased to be renewing Revolution and Chicago Fire — two first-season successes — and there will be more returning series announcements made in the next couple of weeks.”

None of the renewals are surprises, as NBC has been much stronger this season with their dramas than their comedies, even scoring the two aforementioned freshman successes in Revolution and Chicago Fire. While Grimm continues to put up solid numbers on Fridays, solid enough to get a Tuesday tryout following the demise of Ready for Love, Parenthood has only continued to rise in its Tuesdays at 10:00 slot, the next season (its fifth) being an upgrade from the 18 episodes it had two seasons ago and 15 this season. Meanwhile, Law & Order: SVU has proved to be a solid performer for the network, launching Chicago Fire and giving NBC a strong utility player capable of handling a tough Wednesday time slot.

The only non-canceled/ending dramas that NBC didn’t extend a renewal to are mystery Deception, which is unlikely to return, and Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal, coming off another steep drop in the ratings last night.

NBC will be the first network to reveal its 2013-2014 schedule, having its upfront presentation the morning of Monday, May 13th.

Are you glad that Parenthood will have a full season for once? Do you think that Grimm should be used during the week rather than saved for Fridays? Is Chicago Fire strong enough to move away from SVU and be put to use elsewhere?

After all, they did spend a good portion of “Kashmir” walking through sewage, if we’re to believe the Revolution Revealed clip below. I thought it was an old subway line. In the last 15 years, they must have rerouted some sewage there. Whatever. There were a lot of things about Revolution that had me pounding my head against the pillow last night, so I wanted to share. This is the sharing of a video clip wrapped in a bit of a rant, not only about the episode but about the upcoming hiatus and the possible death of la Revolución!

My first thought when Miles saw the dude running into the doorway ahead of them in the tunnel was that there was a trapdoor we just didn’t see. It wasn’t as if they spent a lot of time looking. When the second person hallucinated, I figured – that dastardly (yet extremely handsome) Sebastian Monroe is pumping drugs into that tunnel! After all, wouldn’t he know that’s the only way to get to his place from whence they came? What else have they had to do for 15 years other than direct sewage down there? They might as well pump in some chemicals to drive possibly incumbents batty.

But, no. Despite the flowing water, dripping water and many other indications of openings leading to fresh air, they were suffocating. Not only was the space GIANT, thereby arguing the point that it would have taken much longer to lose the oxygen that had built up over the time the tunnel hadn’t been used, but there was all that water. Still, they were suffocating. Sure. They needed to make it even more threatening than the newly planted bombs that Miles hadn’t mapped out.

Speaking of those bombs. With her handy, what was it, spray paint I think, Nora found and marked all the new bombs. Except when she ‘freed” Charlie, she told everyone to run like hell. Which they did. With absolutely no regard for the ground under their feet. They ran with arms akimbo, eyes to the sky, and then dropped to the ground. Amazingly, hitting none of the freshly painted bombs. Really. Because that happens. All the time. Some people have all the luck.

Just a short distance away was a door, poked with holes. Holes that would have, over the time noted above, allowed plenty of oxygen into the space and made suffocation it the amount of time they were in there impossible. Using silly plot devices to “show their fears” just doesn’t sit well with me. If at all. That’s why I bang my head into a pillow and not a hard wooden object. I’d have a lot of bruises.

When Charlie got shot and, if we’re to believe the scenes of her visiting the afterlife and her father, it took only the voice of Uncle Miles yelling at her in despair to bring her back. Damn. We have been going about this medical care thing all wrong. So much of what we are doing today is wrong. We can wake the dead with an emotional plea, keep our teeth gleaming white without the need of dental care, never get a speck of dirt on our clothing without ever washing them and have lovely, flowing locks of hair sans grease without the need for a shower. Through wishful thinking, perhaps?

The best part of Revolution, featuring the extraordinarily expensive and wasted talent of Led Zeppelin, was Rachel killing Brad when Bas said he didn’t have a need for her any more. “You need me now.” How frakkin awesome is that woman?

In the fall finale, Charlie and Miles finally find Danny, and Charlie will probably have to face the fact her mom has been alive all these years. Miles and Bas have a good old fashion sword fight, leading to the obligatory promise that if Miles returns to the militia his family will be unharmed and Monroe will have the super secret decoder device allowing him to fly helicopters. I still don’t know what that’s going to get him or how he’ll rule the world with a device that allows him to fly a bit here and there, but I’ll tune in to find out.

No matter what happens next week, we’re in some trouble here. Remember series like The Event, Jericho, and Flash Forward? They started out like gangbusters and when they took several months off, the people didn’t come back. While NBC is betting that their lead in The Voice will be the trump card for Revolution, the two are hardly a match made in heaven. I’ve never watched one episode of The Voice and never will. If something else comes along to take my mind off of Revolution, I’m not personally invested enough (save for what they do next week) to feel down if I stop watching four months from now.

What about you? Are you 100% on board? Will absence make the heart grow fonder or will it be out of sight, out of mind for Revolution?

Personally, I can’t think of a better time to promote the next episode featuring the popular music of the day. Led Zeppelin!

Say what? I’ve been wondering where Eric Kripke’s influence has been on Revolution, because the similarities between his ultra engaging Supernatural and Revolution are incredibly slim. I find myself drifting away from the screen quite frequently while watching Revolution, and that was not supposed to happen.

When Revolution was announced and Kripke attached, it was on the top of my must see list for the fall of 2012. I was certain it would be one of those smash hits I would adore and NBC would rip it off the air before I had a chance to satisfy my lust for it and I would want to join others fighting the good fight to get it back on the air and all that normal stuff that happens when a show I love finally gets produced.

Imagine my surprise when it was kind of slow out of the gate and received an almost immediate season pickup. Hmpf. I kept up my hope that with my beloved Kripke behind the scenes, it would get better. Foiled again. The characters are about as interesting as toast. They have no layers, very little personality and even less mystery. The only mystery was surrounding the pendants, and we learned early on they were USB devices that carried the key to turning the power back on. The season isn’t even half over and we already know Charlie’s dad mistakenly created a weapon of mass destruction, sold it to the department of defense and civilization is paying the price.

Now we have a very special episode coming up. This will really get the juices flowing, right? Eric Kripke kept Supernatural alive with his love of classic rock, so I think this might be the one thing he has been able to successfully pull off on his own. Let’s throw some Led Zeppelin in there, dammit! That will surely rouse the 18-49 year old demo!

So what could it have to do with the show? Maybe it means it’s Monroe’s favorite band, and they get the electricity on for just a wee bit and he chooses to listen to some Zeppelin. How invested did they have to get Led Zeppelin to use the song? You can’t even find it on YouTube because the rights are tied down so tightly. I just hope they didn’t arbitrarily choose the song for the lyrics, “all will be revealed” because it’s a bit early in the series to give up the gauntlet, isn’t it? In case you missed it, here’s the promo for the aptly named “Kashmir.” What are your thoughts?
