One of the best episodes of Castle ever. One of the best episodes of television ever. I’m shaking just thinking about the episode. Stana Katic showcases once again what a powerhouse she is. From the second the episode began I was in complete awe. There is nothing she cannot do.

From the moment Vulcan Simmons appeared in this episode, I just knew things were going to get real messy. I just didn’t realize to what degree. Kate had been following this guy Jason Marks since about March. Well, that’s what the close up of her journal indicated. Jason, who Kate and Rick had been investigating in regards to her mother’s murder turned up dead and Vulcan Simmons who Kate saw driving Jason turned up dead as well.

As if things weren’t already intense, it got much worse when Lanie delivered the news to Kate that the one bullet that was found in Simmons came from a pistol registered to Kate. Simmons was killed with Kate’s backup piece that was in her safe at home. I was shaking just like Lanie was when she was giving the news to Kate. I just couldn’t believe it. There was no way Kate killed Simmons. I know Kate, she would never do such a thing. There was only one person that could have set all this up.

Later on, Castle came up with the theory that maybe our old dead friend Mr. Smith wasn’t actually dead at all. Could that possibly be? Well, Smith called Castle’s burner phone, and I’m pretty sure dead people cannot make telephone calls. Did anyone else get the shivers when Castle and Kate met with Smith in the parking garage? Smith told the two that he was close to bringing Jason into the fold but that someone found out and had him killed. First Jason, then Simmons. What was going on?

Intense doesn’t even begin to explain this episode. It was just one thing after another. There were so many heart pumping, intense moments but the swing sets moment definitely warmed my heart. A hooded Kate meeting Rick. Aw, just so awww. Anytime this show brings out the swings you know it’s going to be a great moment. Another great moment was when Espo and Ryan told Gates everything about Kate’s mother’s murder. I thought it was about time Gates knew what was going on. If Gates was going to do anything she could to protect Beckett, she needed to know the truth.

It was only a matter of time before Bracken found Kate and he made his move once Castle left the hotel room to get a car. I loved how Kate told Bracken to kill her if he had the balls to do so. Which we all know he doesn’t. He always makes other people do his dirty work. His two thugs made Kate swallow a pill that would relax her and then proceeded to feeding her booze. They were obviously making it look like some kind of suicide, but not so fast! Kate didn’t swallow the pill and took down both men. Did they really think Kate was going to go down without a fight? Kate did get smashed in the head but Castle showed up just in time and they took off.

I can’t even choose a favourite moment from this episode since the entire episode was incredible but I got some serious chills when Kate had a flashback to meeting Captain Montgomery for the first time. Kate was looking for her mother’s file and Kate didn’t realize it but back then, Montgomery was giving her a clue as to where the recording of Bracken confessing was. It turns out Montgomery gave Johanna the recording! Can you believe it? I was in shock.

Kate and Rick were able to get into Kate’s apartment to look through her mom’s stuff thanks to Ryan and Espo but Capt. Marcus Donovan came busting in before they could get out. The following sequence of events were absolutely brilliant. One of the best moments of the entire series. Kate was going through everything in her head and it donned on her. The famous elephants on Kate’s desk were her mom’s. Johanna used to have them on her desk and she used to say they were a family just like Kate, her mom, and her dad. “D ME w/ family” didn’t mean dinner with family, it actually meant Detective Montgomery, evidence w/ family. The tape was in one of the elephants!!!! Seeing Kate trying to crack open one of the elephants then the tape falling to the ground was so amazing. Even more amazing? Hearing Bracken confessing to everything on that tape.

It was so incredibly satisfying seeing Kate walk through those doors and seeing the complete shock on Bracken’s face. Kate had the honour of arresting Bracken for conspiracy, fraud and murder of her mother Johanna Beckett and all in front of the media. Bracken was going down and it was Beckett who got to deliver the final blow. What a moment for Beckett. Finally! That part of her life can be put to rest.

“I never could have done this without you.” – Beckett

A perfect ending to an amazing episode. I just can’t believe the whole thing. The recording was in the elephant the entire time! I am in shock. Mind blown. The Castle team has done it once again. I must add “Veritas” to the list of all time favourite Castle episodes. Let’s be honest, that list is really crowded, but this one will definitely go down as one of the Castle greats.

I’m just so glad we got to hear LT say a couple lines of dialogue. Go LT!

I’m going to definitely savour this episode a lot more before I think about next week’s finale. I can’t believe the season is almost over. It has been an incredible season, and I’m confident Milmar have an epic finale planned for us.

The case of the week was pretty good, but I was totally drawn into the B plot with Espo and Ryan. Those two chuckle heads were hilarious! Every time they would try and be friendly towards Castle in the hopes Castle would choose one of them as his best man I busted a gut laughing. They were so transparent but it was so hilarious to watch.

Of course, I totally knew Castle wasn’t going to pick either of them but it was still pretty funny to watch them vying to be his best man. I really loved when Ryan and Espo went to Lanie so she could decide between the two of them. Lanie shot them down because it’s not her decision to make. Seriously guys? What did they think?

In the end, Ryan and Espo confronted Castle and told him he doesn’t have to choose. They’ll both be his best man. Castle told them he was flattered and honored but he already decided on a best man. Castle asked Alexis to be his best man. I just thought that was totally adorable and such a Castle thing to do. Good news though, Castle wanted Ryan and Espo as his groomsmen. I can’t wait to see the shenanigans they get into at Castle’s bachelor party. If they don’t show it, I really hope they at least mention the craziness that went down.

Other awesome wedding news we learned this episode was that Kate asked Lanie to be her maid of honor. I am so extremely happy about this, you have no idea! I really wish we would have seen Kate officially ask her but that’s alright. You gotta love Lanie’s enthusiasm, “The dress is the right mix of elegant and saucy.” I can’t wait to see this dress and I cannot wait to see this wedding!

“Law & Boarder” also showcased Castle’s crazy competitive side which was brought out when him and Beckett were playing Scrabble. She beat him once and of course Castle being Castle couldn’t let that happen again, so he wanted a rematch. Beckett ended up beating him again! I could not stop laughing. Castle was being all confident he was going to win and Beckett busted out the word, Quixotic for the win. I’m not even going to pretend like I know what that word meant before last night.

The last scene won the entire episode for me. Castle wanted another rematch but Beckett had another idea. Strip poker! Oh my little Caskett heart pretty much exploded. I’m just going to quote the entire scene for you and you can imagine it in your heads. Oh, by the way, Kate was in a bra the entire scene. These two will never, ever be a boring married couple.

“Your bet?” – Castle

“I think I’m gonna go all in” – Kate

“Me too, but all I have left to bet with is this shirt” – Castle

“I’ll take that bet” – Kate

“What do you got?” – Castle

“Who cares” – Kate

“This is so much better than scrabble” – Castle

“Yeah” – Kate

Funny lines and other bits:

Alexis and Kate fist bump.

Kate’s gorgeous ponytail. (Why don’t my ponytails every look like that?)

“A reigning champion unable to cope with defeat… that sounds familiar.” – Beckett

“I admit I am extreme… Extremely handsome.” – Castle

“I think catching killers is pretty extreme… and then there’s marrying you.” – Beckett

“I hope not too tired to… you know.” – Castle

“That’s a notion created to comfort those who lose.” – Castle

Thank you Jim Adler! Welcome to Team Castle! After just one episode, I already love you. Coffee, apples, ice cubes, always, rain, swings, handshakes, and now scrabble will never be the same again and I’m perfectly okay with that. My huge smile turned into a huge gasp after they showed the promo for next week’s episode, “Veritas.” Hold on to your seats my fellow Castle lovers, it’s going to be a crazy ride!

The Castle team has been hitting these episodes out of the park and Monday night’s episode was no different. “The Greater Good” put the spotlight on Captain Gates, something this Castle fan has been waiting a very long time for. We got to really see Penny Johnson Jerald flex those acting muscles and she definitely did not disappoint.

From the moment I saw the promo for this episode I was ecstatic that Salli Richardson-Whitfield was guest starring as Gates’ sister Elizabeth. I’ve been a huge fan of Salli’s since she was on Eureka and these two incredible women were fantastic together. Polar vortex didn’t even begin to explain how Gates and Elizabeth were to each other at the beginning of the episode. You definitely sensed something big happened between these two.

We got some indication early on that something definitely went down between these two and that it was job related.

Gates: “I am not stuck anywhere. I will not apologize for doing my job to the letter of the law.”

We learned later on when Beckett was talking to Gates about Elizabeth, that Gates screwed up one of Elizabeth’s investigations. Back when Gates was the head of Internal Affairs, Elizabeth was trying to make her case and she begged Gates not to mess with her case. Gates chose her job because that’s who Gates is and we love her for it. Things haven’t been the same between the sisters since. I felt so bad for Gates because she seemed genuinely sad about the rift with her sister. Gates was only doing her job, but I could see where Elizabeth would have resentment towards her sister. They were the dynamic duo for goodness sake. Could you imagine the good they could have done together?

I just loved that Beckett and Gates scene so much. Such a beautiful bonding scene between them. Stana and Penny have such great chemistry together. This whole cast does. That’s what I love most about this show. All the actors have such amazing chemistry together and they really do love their jobs and it really translates on the screen.

The scene that really got to me was short but it packed quite a punch. When Gates was working late she opened up her desk drawer to reveal a picture of her and her sister. So much emotion in that moment. If you didn’t already love Gates, I’m sure after this scene you will. Yeah, she’s a hard ass sometimes, but she’s just trying to do her job. Even though she probably wasn’t talking to her sister, she was always thinking about her.

In the end, the team got their murderer and it was someone I didn’t even suspect. Turns out, our victim Peter Cordero took the 25 million from his boss and was going to run away. Stephanie, who was working with Elizabeth at the U.S. Attorney’s office listened to Cordero’s last recording and heard he was going to leave town. Stephanie couldn’t let Cordero do that and shot him. Such a shame. At least Peter donated a large portion of the money he took to rebuild his hometown that was destroyed by the earthquake that killed his parents.

I was so happy when Elizabeth thanked Gates for doing her job so well. The same thing that got between them in the first place. I was glad the sisters could put the past behind them. I really hope we get to see them work a case together again. I thought Penny and Salli really nailed it this week. I just loved how Elizabeth kept on calling her Victoria. Such a change from Captain Gates, or Sir.

Other than the case, we got to enjoy more wedding planning. We learned that Kate will not get married up in space, on a slide or on a ride. I’ll admit, getting married on the Cyclone at Coney Island would be pretty awesome. I kid I kid. Castle and his crazy ideas always make me laugh.

They already have a song, and now they needed to make their list. The amount of people just kept on growing, but to be fair, Castle is world famous-ish. I absolutely loved Aunt Theresa getting mentioned and Castle commenting about what she wrote on Facebook. Hilarious throwback Castle writers. I love when they do that.

How many names did Castle and Beckett have? Like 500? Well, Martha had her own list! Things were getting a little out of hand but Castle and Beckett being who they are and this amazing communication thing they’ve got going on decided to figure this out once and for all. Kate asked, “Why are we having this wedding?” They are having the wedding for them, not for anyone else. I thought it was brilliant to write down everyone they wanted to be there in a minute. After about 2 seconds they stopped to reveal they both wrote “YOU” on their piece of paper.

Okay, everyone on the count of 3 say, AWWWWW. How adorable was that? I can’t even count how many incredibly sweet moments we’ve got between the two of them. Of course after this they started to actually make their list together. I’m not going to make any predictions about this wedding. I’m just going to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

Soundbites from “The Greater Good”

Castle: “Hairy is my middle name. That sounded better in my head.”

Castle: “Castle, you’ve done it again.”

Gates: “Find the truth.”

Even though Kate was afraid her relationship with Castle could get boring once they were married, “The Way of the Ninja” was definitely not boring. I’ll admit at a certain point I really had no idea what the heck was going on but all the ninja action kept me quite intrigued.

I’m always game for Castle’s crazy theories and this episode provided us with yet another classic from Castle. I loved how adamant Castle was that the killer was a ninja and even I was starting to believe his crazy theory. I was happy I didn’t decide to make a drinking game out of this episode because if I had to take a shot every time somebody said ninja I would have gotten plastered.

I could go on and on about the ninja action but I’d rather talk about all the other Castle goodies this episode offered. First of all, Kate in the opening scene was hilarious. She was supposed to get together with an old friend named Carly and Kate said something I never thought would ever come out of her mouth.

Kate: “Last thing I need is to watch someone from my past trying to seduce my fiancée while talking about the goddess that lives in her hoo-ha.”

Hoo-ha! Kate Beckett, why I never! Stana was awesome tonight. In fact, she’s always awesome. She was definitely on fire with her great lines and facial expressions. I rarely comment on this, but how amazing did Stana look? I love when Stana’s hair is down, but she looked absolutely amazing with her hair up in that ponytail and I loved that blazer she was wearing towards the end of the episode and those leather pants! Hot damn!

Other than the hoo-ha moment, Kate and Espo eating cronuts was awesome and it made me really want one. I just love scenes where characters are eating. To me it makes them even more human. It drives me nuts on shows when we never see characters eat. I can never accuse Castle of doing that.

How great was the Japanese Hostess Club scene? Kevin doing karaoke was hilarious and I loved how uncomfortable he was when they first got there and made sure to tell the ladies that he was married. He even pointed to his wedding ring. Things got quite interesting when one of the ladies took Castle back to a private room to give him information about Jade. Unfortunately Castle was busy and ignored his reminder to call Beckett. It wasn’t for nothing, but the evening did cost him $6,000!

I nearly laughed myself off my bed when Castle tried to expense the $6,000 bill and Gates crumpled the bill right in front of his face. Did Castle really think Gates would allow him to expense that?

After getting the death stare from Gates, Castle was treated to a pissed off Kate. Kate was mad at Castle because he didn’t call her when he was supposed to. He was too busy having his little private session. Obviously Kate’s frustration wasn’t all about Castle not calling. Beckett was expecting her friend Carly to have these amazing stories but instead she was boring. Carly said she was bored in her marriage. She was complaining there was no romance in her marriage. Kate was afraid marriage would change them. Kate didn’t want to get bored with Castle, and she didn’t want Castle to get bored with her. Castle was so adorable telling her they could put it in their vows. “Even though we’re married it doesn’t mean there’s no more romance and we will never ever be boring.”

Kate: “We’re not gonna become one of those couples that go to the same two restaurants and only have sex on national holidays.”

I love how they’re having such realistic conversations with each other. What a difference a season makes. Last year, Beckett had no idea where their relationship was going and they hardly ever spoke about the future. Now that they’re engaged they communicate and voice their concerns. Castle and Beckett are just too adorable together and we are so lucky to get the cutest Caskett kisses. Moonlight curse be dammed! This show has gotten a million times better since Castle and Beckett have gotten together. Just because a couple gets together doesn’t mean everything is all puppies and rainbows. They now get to face adversity together and work through their problems the way real couples do.

So, back to the ninja goodness. It turned out Jade, our victim was hunting down the Green Dragon that killed her family. Ah, your classic revenge story but unfortunately things didn’t end well for Jade. The woman who was impersonating the consulate officer earlier in the episode was actually Jade’s sister, a police officer herself. Both Jade and her sister survived the attack that killed their parents.

From the moment we met Jade’s boyfriend Dean’s father I knew something wasn’t right with him and I was right. Randall Bedford was the Green Dragon.

I have to say, it was quite the episode. Intriguing case and great character moments. This show has so many layers, it’s what makes it so great. That’s what I love about this show. It’s never one thing. You can have an intense moment followed up by a funny one and then a sad one. There’s not too many shows I can go from laughing to crying. Castle is definitely one of a kind.

Soundbites from “The Way of the Ninja”

Castle: “The Great throwdini.”

Castle: “Our killer is a ninja.”

“No I’m not a ninja. I’m Korean not Japanese, way to racial profile.”

Kate: “Our course we can’t let facts get in the way of a good story.”

Castle: “And you’re afraid we’re going to become boring?”

What did you guys think of this week’s episode? Sound off below! After seeing the promo for next week’s episode I am definitely super excited! Salli Richardson-Whitfield, my favorite from Eureka is guest starring as Gates’ sister! It should be a good one, like always!

A song, a dance, and a kiss killed me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is hands down my favourite episode of the season. I’m gonna go a step further and say it’s one of the best episodes of the entire series. You can’t see me right now but I am bowing down to Chad & Dara Creasey. It was such a beautifully written episode that had some of the best moments in the entire series and Stana and Nathan were incredible like they always are. I am continuously amazed by this show and even in its 6th season, it’s showing no sign of slowing down. The writers on this show get it and they really love their fans and it shows. The love definitely goes both ways.

The fact that it’s the next day and I’m still smiling just thinking about this episode says something. The second I heard “In My Veins” by Andrew Belle, I started to freak out and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one. I’m going to sound so dramatic right now, but I was crying so much I couldn’t breathe. That song makes me so emotional, and when it played in the scene it was just too much. Castle and Kate dancing to “In My Veins” was amazing. Never in a million years could I have imagined a moment like that. I got even more emotional (as if that was even possible) when Castle and Kate said at the exact same time, “I’ve always loved this song.” I just can’t believe the perfection of that scene. “In My Veins” is going to be their wedding song. Let’s all just digest that for a moment.

Kate: “Do you regret it? That prank? Missing your prom? Not being here with Audra Dobson?

Castle: “Not even a little bit. Everything I’ve ever done, every choice I’ve ever made, every terrible, wonderful thing that’s ever happen to me, it’s all led me to right here, this moment with you.”

How perfect were those lines? Just when you thought they couldn’t be any cuter, Kate said to Castle, “Now shut up and kiss me.” A perfect way to end such a beautiful episode and that kiss! WOW. I would say it’s one of the best Caskett kisses. I will never get over this scene, and I don’t want to.

Not to take anything away from Caskett, but how cute were Jordan and Lucas? Jordan came to the dance, and while all eyes were on her, she found Lucas. She hugged him and they started to dance and they kissed. They were adorable, and let’s not forget that Lucas protected Jordan. Beckett told Castle that they found no wires, magnets, or anything that would have explained the things flying around in Lucas’ house. Love was definitely in the air at that dance.

I definitely need to talk about that scene with Castle and Kate trying to pick out their wedding music. Easy enough right? Well, Kate wanted a DJ and Castle wanted a band. I never would have pictured Kate as a DJ kinda woman. I had to laugh at the fact that they both thought their song was something different. Did they not have a song? Well, later on in the episode in the loft , while Beckett was drinking red wine (wink wink) and Castle was making dinner, Castle handed Kate a Billboard list of Top 100 romantic songs of all time.

Kate: “I’m not choosing our song off a list that includes Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”

Castle: “Uh, that song I’m sure ignited many a strip club romance in 1987.”

I could not stop laughing. Witchcraft? Dancing In The Dark? Too funny!

We also learned that both Castle and Kate never went to their proms. Castle got kicked out and rebel Becks was a little too cool to go to a silly dance. She kinda wished she didn’t miss out on it. That’s what made the ending with them dancing extra special. They never got to experience it and here they were getting to experience it together.

Kate: “It’s one of those seminal moments that I kinda wish I didn’t skip out on”

The case this week was pretty awesome. Could you imagine FaceTiming your friend and seeing her murder? Yikes. It looked like Madison, our victim was murdered by ways of telekinesis, but as you know there’s always a logical explanation for things. The case brought the team to Faircroft Prep, one of Castle’s many schools. It turned out, Castle’s Principal was still there!

According to Madison’s friends, there was an incident in the cafeteria two weeks prior and everything was caught on camera. Some guys were playing hot or not and Jordan the black sheep student was being bullied and then stuff literally hit the fan.

It made me quite angry when Madison’s friends were talking about Jordan saying she was odd and she was into weird stuff. I mean, just because someone is into different stuff than you, doesn’t mean their odd. That’s what the bullies always say. I was thankful Jordan had Lucas on her side trying to protect her.

Castle and Beckett then went to see the doctor that taught people how to unlock their potential. According to the doctor Jordan didn’t know how to control her powers. When they first walked in, Kate’s face was priceless when they saw the doctor levitating. Stana’s facial expressions are top notch. Jordan revealed herself and was brought down to the precinct.

I really felt bad for Jordan while she was in the interrogation room with Castle and Beckett. Usually Jordan was invisible to people but then she saw Madison in the library after winter break and Madison threatened her. That’s when all the trouble started. I won’t lie, I did freak out a bit when the table started shaking but it turned out Jordan was just banging her knee on the table. Castle totally thought it was her telekinetic powers. Too funny!

Turns out, Madison was a little crook. Castle and Beckett went to the Russian Lit section of the library and found a hollowed out version of War and Peace. They found German bearer bonds in the book! Over a million dollars worth.

The bearer bonds were stolen from a bank. A man named Xiangzu Chen stole them. Turns out Madison’s father was Chen’s lawyer. At first I thought Chen found out his lawyer’s daughter stole 2.3 million from him and had her killed but that wasn’t the case.

Madison knew that Chen was superstitious and faked the whole supernatural patio furniture flying in the yard thing. Chen was so freaked out, he left the country and was even willing to take a loss on his house.

Of course, Beckett being Beckett had a logical explanation for everything. I really liked her theory. Of course, Castle had to chime in with, “did she stage her own death too?” Then we were treated to Kate’s damn you got me face, which I always love.

We learned from Lucas that the whole FaceTime video at the beginning of the episode was a fake. It was pre-recorded and that Madison faked the whole thing with Lucas’ help. Madison’s friends were her partners in all of the burglaries. Kris wanted out and Madison told her she was going to destroy her. Kris couldn’t let that happen and killed Madison.

So, what did you guys think of the episode? Was Jordan really telekinetic? Anything is possible. What do you think of “In My Veins” being Caskett’s song? Perfect choice? I think so! I cannot wait for that first dance. Little tidbit I didn’t get to mention. Did you guys like that funky jacket Espo was wearing? I kind of liked it. It was really different for Javier.

I can’t wait to hear your feedback from this episode. Sound off below!

Soundbites:

Castle: “I can’t wait to tell Stephen about this case.”

Beckett look

Castle: “Stephen King.”

Castle: “The outcast, the mean girls, the rage that erupts in a telekinetic attack. This is a real life Carrie.”

Castle: “Be careful in there. Don’t anger her. We don’t know what she’s capable of.”

Kate: “You’re right. You should probably go in there with me. For protection.”

Principal Dunnan: “It’s haunted me for years. Where did you get the cow?

Castle: “Put it this way sir, if you ever need one, I know a guy.”

Principal Dunnan: “You’ll always be Rodgers to me.”

Principal Dunnan: “I’m old not deaf Mr. Rodgers.”

What’s not to love?

Let’s start with the opening scene. When we start off with Castle and Beckett in their jammies, you know the episode is going to be perfection! Not so perfect, Beckett reading an article in the newspaper hinting that Castle was getting back together with his ex-wife. Not to worry, Castle was only having lunch with Gina to discuss his Heat and Storm books. I couldn’t help but laugh when a reporter at the crime scene asked Castle if he was back with his ex-wife. Of course Castle didn’t deny it, and it obviously bothered Beckett. Castle was right though, if he denied it, it would just make things worse. We all know Beckett values her privacy, so she didn’t want Castle to announce their engagement. As long as the press didn’t know about Castle and Beckett, there would always be these articles about Castle and these innocent lunches. You know, because Castle is somewhat famous.

Pi was back this episode. I really didn’t mind seeing him. (I never thought I’d say those words) Pi was brought back because Castle was supposed to write a letter of recommendation for him for his grant application. By the end of this week’s episode though, I don’t think we’ll be seeing much more of him. More on that later on.

The case this week was great. We had Mandy, a rising star who’s life was going in a downward spiral. First she was caught kissing an ex boyfriend at a bar and then her new boyfriend dumped her and then she was found dead in an alley. Huge problem! The body found in the alley was not Mandy. The real victim ended up being Claire Samuels, Mandy’s decoy for the paparazzi.

Castle and Beckett ended up finding Mandy passed out in a hotel room and brought her back to the precinct. I couldn’t help but laugh when Castle was telling Mandy about knowing how she felt about the scrutiny of living your life under a microscope, on a much smaller scale of course. Mandy had no idea who Castle was. That seemed to happen from time to time with Castle. The laughs didn’t stop there. Alexis came into the break room to see Castle and thought he needed some help with Pi’s letter of recommendation. Their conversation quickly turned to Mandy and Alexis was going on and on about how she turned into a hot mess. Alexis’ face was priceless when Mandy revealed herself. Cat got your tongue?

Some how Alexis ended up with Mandy’s cell phone and she went to Mandy’s hotel room to give it back. This gave us an opportunity for a really sweet moment between Alexis and Mandy.

Mandy: “It happens when you’re not looking and by the time you realize it, it’s already who you are.”

Alexandra Chando, who played Mandy was great this episode. I thought Alexandra Chando and Molly Quinn played great off each other. I really felt bad for Alexis when she admitted to Mandy she wished she could disappear from her life. I loved seeing Alexis finally admitting to someone she made a mistake with Pi. You could tell Alexis had really been struggling with this. Alexis didn’t want to admit to Castle that she made a mistake and that Castle was right about her not being ready. I get where Alexis was coming from. Nobody ever wants to admit they were wrong about something. Especially about Pi, since it drove a real wedge between Castle and Alexis not too long ago.

Alexis tried to convince Mandy that the text message she received from her friend Sam was probably a trap and that she shouldn’t go see her friend. Of course Mandy wasn’t going to listen to Alexis so Alexis made the decision to go with Mandy. While at the bar they did find out some interesting information from Sam. According to him, Claire was trying to reach Mandy because she found out somebody was out to get Mandy. Claire was also hot to talk to Jesse, Mandy’s ex. Unfortunately things didn’t go so well, and some people recognized Mandy and made quite the frenzy. Alexis and Mandy were able to escape the bar but found Jesse in his car instead. Mandy was glad to see him, but I’m sure she wasn’t glad to see his gun.

According the Jesse the whole thing was a set up. He got $25,000 to suck face with Claire. Claire was set on getting to Mandy because she had to make things right because she felt bad about everything that had happened. Harvey Stryker from Celeb Gazer.com bought the fake make out photo from a freelancer, but he wasn’t the mastermind behind the whole thing. According to Harvey, he got a tip about the photo.

Dum Dum Dummmmm… the killer turned out to be Mandy’s mother! I so called it from the beginning! What a good twist. Mandy’s mother set up the whole photo op. Mandy’s mother wanted to break up her and her new boyfriend Zach. She said that Zach was ruining Mandy when in fact Zach was the best thing to happen to Mandy. Mandy’s mother was just greedy and she couldn’t let Claire tell Mandy the truth, so she had to get rid of her. She said she did everything for Mandy, but she did it for herself.

Such a sweet moment between Castle and Mandy at the end. Castle told Mandy not to run and hide from all of this. I loved that Alexis brought Zach with her when she came to the precinct. Alexis told Zach the truth, that Mandy didn’t cheat on him. I’m so happy Mandy got to have a second chance.

Happiness turned to sadness when Castle gave Alexis the letter of recommendation for Pi. Alexis couldn’t hide her disappointment. Alexis must be true to herself. She can’t stay in a relationship she’s not happy with because she doesn’t want to prove that Castle was right all along.

The episode ended right where it began, with an article about Castle. This time it was the truth and it was Castle and Beckett’s wedding announcement. Beckett was the one who put their upcoming nuptials in the paper. Beckett came to terms that Castle is somewhat famous. Beckett said if the paper was going to write about him, she wanted it to be the truth, she wanted it to be about them. All together now… Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Castle: “Does it say we’re getting married in space?”

Beckett: “It’s not gonna happen babe”

I seriously love these two. I was so happy Beckett was the one to put the wedding announcement in the paper. I know she values her privacy, but it would have been extremely hard to hide her relationship with Castle especially since they are getting married. As long as Castle was single in the eyes of the press, he would have always been linked to any woman he’d be in contact with. I had to laugh out loud when Castle again mentioned getting married in space. That guy is relentless. I also really loved the scene with Beckett talking on the phone with her dad, convincing him that the article about Castle and Gina wasn’t true. Apparently her aunt had posted the article on her Facebook page. It’s those little light moments in the episodes that I love the most. It was also hilarious that Ryan and Espo on different occasions messed with Beckett about the article. Those two!

The more Castle and Beckett talk about the engagement, the more excited I get! I just hope it’s smooth sailing. Oh! who am I kidding? Where’s the fun in that? So, What did you guys think of the episode? Sound off below!

I love the whole cast, the crew, and everyone involved in this show. The emotions that come out of me while watching this show is insane. This week was no exception. The smile that was on my face when Castle brought Beckett coffee in bed could not be wiped off so easily. I think that was the cutest opening scene of Castle ever! Castle was just adorable trying to convince Kate she totally fell for him the first time they met. I personally believe it was Castle who fell for Kate the first time they met. Then he fell even harder for her as she walked away from him in “Flowers for Your Grave.”

Was I the only one who cheered at the sight of the Police/Writer vests? It feels like we haven’t seen those bad boys in such a long time. I had so many feels and the episode was only 8 minutes old. I had a feeling “Still” was going to be a crazy intense episode and it didn’t take long for my feeling to be correct. The second Kate stepped on the sensor plate, I knew things were going to crazy real fast.

As a Caskett shipper this episode was just incredible. All the flashback scenes just made my shipper heart explode. From the first time Beckett cuffed Castle at the library, to Castle’s “Guess who’s got a date with a prostitute?” the flashback scenes were just amazing. To see how far they’ve both come was great. I kind of miss Kate pulling Castle’s ear and squeezing his nose. She should do it for old times sake. Despite all the laughing and smiling from all these memories, Kate was still standing on a bomb and I was still freaking out. This episode had my heart in a firm grip and was squeezing very slowly. Despite all my freaking out, I still had the best time watching this episode. In fact, “Still” has dethroned “The Lives of Others” as my favourite episode this season and maybe ever.

I’m not sure about you guys, but some of my favourite flashbacks were the ones where everyone was trying to tell Beckett she had feelings for Castle. Beckett thought she was fooling herself, but she wasn’t fooling anyone else.

“You’re hot for Castle, you want to make little Castle babies.”

“He’s all yours.”

All these flashbacks make me want to go back and watch Castle from the beginning. Believe me, that’s probably what I’ll be doing to survive the summer hiatus.

Didn’t you just love how they were bickering about who like whom first? I loved how they even brought Espo into it. It kind of got your mind off the fact that Beckett was standing on a bomb. Then they cut to the bomb’s timer and you’re brought right back down to earth from the Caskett love fest. All these moments just solidify the connection Kate and Castle share. It was just so magical. Kate knew right away that Castle was lying to her when he said everything was alright regarding the bomb. Castle and Beckett have been in death defying situations before. That’s the power of Caskett. They make an incredible team. Whether they’re trying to escape crazy gun battles or a car sinking in the water, they always make it out together. The real magic happens when they start building theory together. He may not be a cop but he’s quite the storyteller. I absolutely loved those flashbacks of them solving crimes. They’re just so in sync.

Now for the most amazing part of the episode. Not that the whole episode wasn’t amazing. It’s just the whole Castle fandom has been waiting for this for a very long time, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. Kate said I Love You!!!!!!! She even called him Rick! She finally said those 3 little words. I ugly cried during and after and I’m totally not ashamed of it. That whole scene was so beautifully done. The music playing in the background was perfect. Stana and Nathan were incredible. The tears flowing down her face made me cry even more. I could tell it was killing Castle having to leave her all alone. This is one scene I’m probably going to watch a million more times. I know some people will say it’s just a television show, but I could feel the emotions through the screen. The connection I have with this television show is incredible. I feel like I know these characters inside and out. Her standing there all alone was just heart breaking. It’s crazy what this show does to me. My feelings were everywhere. My heart was racing at such a high speed! When Beckett called her dad, that totally set me off again.

I hope I wasn’t the only one that got chills when we first heard Captain Montgomey’s voice. I still miss him. Those flashback scenes were just amazing. What an impact flashbacks can make when done correctly. Every other show should watch this episode of Castle when thinking about doing an episode like this. I’m not saying this because I think Castle can do no wrong, but tonight’s episode was so beautifully done. Much love to Orlando Machado Jr. (@machetecuts) who edited “Still” and found all the amazing moments and to Robert Duncan. The music was so beautifully done. The entire score and the Caskett theme gave me chills.

I didn’t think for one second Castle would stay away after Kate and the Captain made him leave. Up until the very end, they were going to solve the case. It’s what they do best. It was a very close call but they did it! Solved the case and got the password to disengage the bomb. I’m pretty sure the west coast heard my huge sigh of relief. Not that I believed for one second that the bomb would actually go off.

I thought it was so cute when Kate asked Espo if Gates saw her and Castle almost kiss on the street. Of course another thing the fandom has been waiting on for a while now. Has Gates known about Castle and Beckett all along? It turns out SHE KNEW! Gate’s has known about Caskett! We all had our suspicions that she knew, but I’m so glad it’s now out in the open. It makes total sense now. Gates needed to maintain plausible deniability. I’d love to know, when exactly she figured it out?

“Oh for heaven’s sake detective, just kiss the man!”

As if my emotions weren’t already all over the place, when Beckett said (what I think was the best line of the night), “I think we’re just getting started” my feelings really exploded. That’s how I feel about this show. It’s in it’s 5th season and it’s just getting started. “Still” was just an incredibly beautiful love note to the fans. This show continuously rocks it week after week. I truly believe everyone involved with this show loves the fans as much as we love them. I will never forget this episode. I’m pretty sure when we’re old and sitting on our rocking chairs, my friends and I will still be talking about this episode.

There’s 2 episodes left this season and I’m totally freaking out. I don’t want this season to end but I can’t wait to see where Marlowe & Co. are going to take us next season. I’ve put all my trust in this team and I know they won’t let me down.

Some lines and moments from “Still” – flashback lines included:

“Who’s gonna be your bomb buddy?” – Castle to Beckett

Kate said she couldn’t stand Castle when they first met

First time Beckett cuffed Castle

“Do I look like a killer to you?” – Castle

“Guess who’s got a date with a prostitute?” – Castle

“Call me a muse again and I’ll break both your legs.” – Beckett

“Oh it’s possible” – Beckett

“You should hear me say fallacious.” – Beckett

“Dizzying array of hairstyles over the years.” – Castle

Talk about unwanted touching. “Grab my legs, Castle, I said legs.” – Beckett

“Don’t ruin my story with your logic.” – Castle

“You know, if I have to be stuck not standing on a bomb, then I’m glad I’m stuck with you.” – Beckett

“Even on the worst day there’s a possibility for joy.”- Beckett

“I do this one thing, with ice cubes.” – Beckett

“There is one hot, wild, kinky thing that I do like doing. Putting killers behind bars.” – Beckett

“Please, let’s just stick it in and get this over with.” – Beckett

“I can’t help it if you get off by putting things in my mouth.” – Beckett

“You want me to bust out Jake and the Fatman again?” – Castle

This fan event was organized by Castletv.net and California Browncoats. I had such an incredible time hanging out with my friends who are just as passionate about the show as I am. I truly cherish moments like these where I am able to fangirl like crazy over Castle.

This year the guests were Tamala Jones, Penny Johnson Jerald, Armin Shimerman, Rob Bowman, Christopher Brown, Marta Evry, Warren Bowman, Stephen Bowman, Luke Reichle and Chuck Bowman. They were absolutely wonderful. They donated their time to come down and have Q and A’s and autograph and photo sessions with the fans. My respect level for them increased tenfold.

Jason Palmer, who I first discovered at this past years San Diego Comic Con was also at the event. If you’ve never seen his work, I recommend you check out his website: www.jasonpalmer.net He’s such a nice guy and extremely talented. He truly takes into consideration the fans opinions and recommendations for future works.

As I’m sitting here writing this, I still cannot believe I met Tamala Jones and Penny Johnson Jerald. We even participated in a zumba class with Penny and her private instructor. Tamala and Penny are truly phenomenal women. They were absolutely hilarious together during their panel. You sort of forget that their characters have never had a scene together. I’m really happy I got the chance to meet Penny in person. Her character Captain Gates can be quite the hard ass, so her funny side was really welcomed. We even got to hear Tamala sing a little bit. I know we heard her vocal abilities in the episode “The Blue Butterfly”, but in real life she’s fantastic.

I could probably go on forever, but I have to discuss this week’s fantastic episode. I honestly didn’t think I could love Castle anymore than I already do. For the cast and crew to donate their time like this for the fans was incredible. It proves to me that they actually care about the fans. I will do everything in my power to promote this show and I will try to get everybody as obsessed with it as I am.

After Hours was great of course! The meet the parents dinner was super fun and you just knew it wasn’t going to go smoothly at all. Martha and Jim are from totally different ends of the spectrum but one thing is for sure, they love their children. I’m always so super excited whenever we get more Martha screen time. Susan Sullivan is one of my favorites.

The case of the week had a priest getting murdered. I’m sure all my fellow Chucksters squee’d when Bonita Friedericy a.k.a General Beckman came into the precinct as a nun. Ryan was so terrified of the nun, it was hilarious. Esposito was totally making fun of him. The dynamic between Ryan and Esposito is incredible. That’s one of the many things I love about this show. The chemistry between the actors is just amazing. It doesn’t feel forced at all.

Castle and Beckett end up having to protect the witness of the murder because of unforeseen circumstances. There was a bit of tension between the two because of the parents dinner that didn’t go well. I welcomed the tension because everything can’t be perfect all the time between these two. Let’s be honest, even though they were bickering, it was still hot.

Meanwhile, nobody at the precinct could get a hold of Castle and Beckett and panic mode erupted. Esposito contacted Martha and Jim and they high tailed it to the station. The moment Martha and Jim came in together and asked Gates what was going on, I got a little nervous. I don’t know if it was just my imagination but did anyone catch the facial expression Gates made? Was Gates wondering why Martha and Jim were together in the first place? Jim covered it up pretty fast though. Penny said during her panel at Castle Con, she thinks Gates already knows about Castle and Beckett. This isn’t a spoiler or anything, so don’t take this statement literally, it’s just an actors assessment.

This episode really did keep me on my toes. Especially with all the running around Castle, Beckett and Leo the witness did. This show mixes seriousness, comedy and intensity so well. I loved the scene where Martha and Jim bonded over their shared worry for their kids. When Jim told Martha Kate feels the safest when Castle is watching her back, I totally started fangirling. It’s the sweet moments like this that really make an episode for me. Now for that Caskett kiss. I just love the way Castle grabbed Kate and kissed her, trying to reassure her he’ll be okay. You could really sense the worry Kate had. Stana is just so fantastic. Even though they had been bickering almost all episode long they still really love each other and would never let anything happen to one another.

The twist came when we found out the witness was actually the murderer. I honestly did not see that coming. Now Kate was the one in danger while Castle was with the ones that were chasing them. Kate and Castle’s connection has never been stronger. Just by the fact of the encoded message Kate gave to Castle. Castle knew right away something was up. Kate freaking out when Leo shot up the car gave me goosebumps. Her running to Castle and putting her arms while cuffed around his neck whispering ”I thought I lost you” made my heart beat so fast. The ending with Martha and Jim was fantastic. Her slowly touching his face and them laughing and getting along was so adorable. This show continuously hits it out the park, especially this season. For me the line of the night had to be “Living your life for now makes a lot more sense than worrying about the future.”

How will I possibly survive with no new episode next week? I’ll just have to rewatch After Hours.

Different in the most amazing way possible. It feels so much fun, and I’m pretty sure the actors feel the same way. The acting is great (always is), the dialogue is so witty and the little looks Beckett and Castle give each other just melts my shipper heart. Everything is just so super easy when your lead actors have such amazing chemistry. Stana and Nathan continuously amaze me every week.

That being said, let’s start off with the case of the week. Our victim is James Swan, lead guitarist of the band Holy Shemp who is found dead in his trailer. The documentary crew that were following the band around end up following the team as they solve the case.

Suspect #1 was Joe Silva. His daughter Butterfly was the groupie Kate, Castle and Lanie found in the closet inside the trailer. All Joe wanted to do was find his daughter. Suspect #2 Sam Spear. He was writing songs for James. Suspect #3 Keith, member of the band. Suspect #4 John Campbell, leader of the cult that James Swan was once a member of. Campbell took $25,000 from James.

It turns out Zeke, member of the band was the killer. He killed James because he told him he was out of the band because of Buck Cooper. Buck was a roadie and Swan’s best friend from back when they were in the cult. He was trying to get away and James was helping him. James wanted Buck as the new bassist and Zeke was not happy about it.

I absolutely loved this episode. I giggled throughout the whole thing. I think if anyone were to watch this show with me, they’d think I was nuts. The documentary style was really different and daring, but it totally paid off. As viewers, got to see a different side of the characters. You just had to know Castle was going love being in front of the camera. The ones that really impressed were Ryan and Esposito. Espo with his “Boom, have you been to the gun show” had me in stitches. Lanie was great too, with her getting Kate and Castle to come down to the M.E.’s office just for something she’d normally just call about, and then totally flaunting herself to the camera.

Kate was the only one uncomfortable in front of the camera. Stana played it so well tonight. As the episode went on though, Beckett was getting a bit more comfortable. Caskett moment alert! Castle reassuring Kate about the documentary crew filming them solving the case and him telling her “I want them to see what I see.” Let’s all just let out a little “aww.” Second Caskett moment, this one not so monumental but Castle telling Kate to interrogate Keith herself. She asks why and he tells her he wants to give her room to operate and strut her stuff. Such a sweet boyfriend. The third adorable Caskett moment that the cameras caught was Castle putting Kate’s hair behind her ear and caressing her face; stupid camera for ruining that moment! One of the biggest laugh out loud moment for me belongs to Espo, Castle, Kate and Sir watching Keith’s alibi a.k.a – the sex tape. A little zinger from Kate, “It’s not the only thing on this video being faked.”

Sir tells Castle and Beckett she’s going to be reviewing all of the film footage. You know to make sure it reflects well on the precinct. It prompts Castle and Beckett to go to the director pleading with him not to show that sweet moment they had. At the end, Captain Gates calls Castle and Beckett into her office and we assume its because of the footage of them together, but it turns out to be another moment the crew caught. While Gates was making a speech, Castle was behind her doing all sorts of goofy things. Caskett is safe! I wonder what happened to that missing tape…

The ending was quite sweet with Espo singing the new song with Keith and Buck. Jon Huertas can actually carry a tune. Kate then luring the camera man into the janitors closet and shutting door and sticking her tongue out was pure perfection!

Is it next monday yet?
