The 15-second teaser features Peter Capaldi in his new role as the twelfth Doctor with Jenna Coleman, his companion Clara Oslwald, in a fierce discussion over moral dilemmas.  Capaldi made his first appearance as the Doctor last November in the show’s 50th Anniversary special, then once again in last year’s Christmas special.

Capaldi succeeds actor Matt Smith in the role.

You’re the Worst is a new original comedy from Stephen Falk (Weeds).  A dark romantic comedy with a modern look at love and happiness, the show follows two people who haven’t been successful with either.

Jimmy (Chris Geere), a narcissistic, self-destructive man, thinks that all relationships must be doomed, while the cynical yet people-pleasing Gretchen (Aya Cash) knows that relationships just aren’t for her.  So, when the two meet at a wedding, it’s only natural that they go home together, and in spite of their outlooks on love, begin to find themselves falling for each other.

You’re the Worst premieres on July 17th at 10:30 PM on FX.

Chalke will play Amy Gazanian, ex-fiancée of Rainn Wilson’s character.  A former social worker and journalist, Amy left Wilson’s Backstrom 10 years ago, due to the trauma-riddled man’s many flaws.  Now back in town, she has been appointed the Chair of the Civilian Oversight Committee – and despite her lingering affection for Backstrom, intends to do her job, keeping an eye on his every ethically dubious, judicially inappropriate move.

Chalke’s last major TV role was on ABC’s shortlived comedy How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life).

The nonfiction book “Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love,” has been optioned by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE) and is being developed as an hour-long series.  Parker is attached to star as one of the series’ two leads.

David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Entourage) is attached to direct the pilot and executive produce, with Web Therapy‘s Don Ross writing the inital episode.

The book, by reporters Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker, follows their successful efforts to uncover a police corruption scandal in Philadelphia.  Their 10-month series on the story was publised in 2009 in the Philadelphia Daily News and won a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.

Foggy is a man with a passion for improving the community in a town full of crime and corruption, a characteristic that makes him a friend to its many residents.

Henson stars in the upcoming Hunger Games: Mockingjay films, and can be remembered for his roles in She’s All That and the Mighty Ducks films.  He joins a cast that includes Vincent D’Onofrio as the villainous Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk and most recent addition, Rosario Dawson.

Marvel’s Daredevil follows Murdock who fights injustice as a lawyer by day, and Daredevil by night.

The series is set to debue in 2015.

Dawson (Kids, Sin City) will be joining the streaming series as a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, into her life, while her own journey alters the course of his battle against the injustices of the city, according to Marvel.

“Rosario Dawson is one the most charismatic, talented and powerful actresses in Hollywood, so she was always at the top of our list for ‘Marvel’s Daredevil,”’ said Marvel head of TV Jeph Loeb.  “Her role in the series is absolutely critical to Matt Murdock’s journey to become the hero we know as Daredevil.”

The 13-episode series is the first of four Marvel original series slated to stream on Netflix.

O’Mara (Terra Nova, Vegas) will be joining the miniseries as George Washington, first commander of the Continental Army and eventual first commander-in-chief.

The six-hour series follows the journey of the United States’ founding fathers as they seek to to change the course of history to help America become a nation.

Other names in in the cast include Ben Barnes as Sam Adams, Michael Raymond James as Paul Revere, Rafe Spall as John Hancock, Ryan Eggold as Joseph Warren, Henry Thomas as John Adams, Marton Csokas as General Thomas Gage, Emily Berrington as Margaret Gage, and Dean Norris as Benjamin Franklin.

Sons of Liberty began production earlier this month in Romania and does not yet have an air date.

Game of Thrones

Friday Night Lights actor Grey Damon has also joined the cast, as well as Emma Dumont (Bunheads).

The drama focuses on Duchovny’s character, a cop who goes undercover to track down Manson and his family before their infamous murder spree.

The project has recieved a 13-episode straight-to-series order and is being treated as an event series.

The highly anticipated Breaking Bad prequel has recieved a second season order of 13 episodes, bringing the grand series total to 23.  There is no note of specific air dates for either season, but AMC has said that the drama will join The Walking Dead in the first quarter of the next two years.

Breaking Bad creator and showrunner Vince Gilligan is directing the show’s premiere, and co-showrunning the series alongside fellow Breaking Bad alum Peter Gould, who inititally created the Saul Goodman character.

The series follows Bob Odenkirk as the tricky New Mexican criminal lawyer.

“Production on Better Call Saul is underway and we could not be more proud of nor more excited about the work to date.  We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series and today we happily confirm that our initial ‘Saul’ order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes,” said AMC president Charlie Collier.

“When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of ‘Breaking Bad,’ there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves. We have a strong history with Vince, Peter, Bob, the studio and so many involved with this production; we are enjoying the process on ‘Saul’ and all share a focus on making it a true television event. No half measures.”

Also starring Lily Tomlin, the streaming comedy follows Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin) whose lives take a turn when their husbands announce that they are in love with each other and plan to get married.  The two nemeses find their lives permanently intertwined, and to their surprise, learn that they have each other.

Sheen recently appeared on son Charlie Sheen’s FX comedy Anger Management and is well known for his role as President Bartlet on Aaron Sorkin’s White House drama The West Wing.

Grace and Frankie is scheduled for a 2015 release and is being written by Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris (Sullivan & Son, According to Jim).
