The series premiere of The Affair, meanwhile, has been pushed up a week from its original October 19th premiere; the series will now premiere Sunday, October 12th at 10:00.

In the absence of former series regular Damian Lewis, Homeland has greatly expanded its cast for season four, a season in which the focus will be Carrie in the field rather than the goings-on at the CIA offices. Set in Islamabad and Kabul, season four of Homeland will feature the likes of Laila Robins (Bored to Death) as US Ambassador to Pakistan Martha Boyd; Corey Stoll (The Strain) as rising political star Sandy Bachman; Mark Moses (Mad Men) as political science professor Dennis; Michael O’Keefe (King & Maxwell) as CIA Deputy Station Chief John Redmond; and Raza Jaffrey (Smash) as Aasar Khan, a lieutenant-colonel in the Pakistan intelligence service.

Created by playwright Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi (In Treatment), The Affair tells the story of two marriages and how they were impacted by the affair between history teacher Noah (Dominic West) and waitress Alison (Ruth Wilson). The series also stars Maura Tierney (ER) as Noah’s wife Helen and Joshua Jackson (Fringe) as Alison’s husband Cole.

You can check out a first look at Homeland‘s fourth season below, as well as the extended teaser for The Affair here.

The GLAAD Award-winning series starred the likes of Hal Sparks (Spider-Man 2), Robert Gant (Personal Affairs), Gale Harold (The Secret Circle), Randy Harrison (Gayby), Scott Lowell (Trapped Ashes), Peter Paige (Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in All the World), and Sharon Gless (Burn Notice).

Taking place in Los Angeles, The L Word focused on a group of female friends – both gay and straight – as they dealt with issues of identity, career, love, age, and fidelity. The series, which was created by Ilene Chaiken (Black Box), starred the likes of Jennifer Beals (The Chicago Code), Laurel Holloman (Boogie Nights), Leisha Hailey (All Over Me), Mia Kirshner (Defiance), Katherine Moennig (Ray Donovan), and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown).

Both will have 10-episode first seasons that will debut sometime later this year, though a concrete premiere date for either has not been revealed.

Created by In Treatment producers Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, The Affair tells the story of the impact that an affair has on the marriages of those involved. To be told from the male and female perspectives, the series stars Ruth Wilson (Luther) as Alison, a waitress at a New York diner who is recovering from recent tragedy in her life. She meets handsome high school teacher Noah (Dominic West), spending the summer in town with his in-laws, and her marriage to financially strapped rancher Cole (Joshua Jackson) soon becomes emotionally complicated. Maura Tierney (ER) also stars in the series as Helen, Noah’s wife of 17 years and mother to his children.

Happyish follows advertising executive Thom Payne (Philip Seymour Hoffman) as he deals with the effects of aging out of an industry that prides itself on youth and edge. At 42 years old and on a variety of medications, Payne’s bosses are now half his age and there’s been talk of how the only way he can survive advertising is to rebrand himself, so the one question that remains is whether happiness is something that he’ll ever be able to attain again. Happyish also stars Kathryn Hahn (Parks and Recreation) as Thom’s ambitious wife Lee, searching for her brand of happiness, and Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man) as Thom’s boss Jonathan.

Will you be watching either The Affair or Happyish? How long can a show like The Affair carry out this kind of premise? Are you surprised that Philip Seymour Hoffman is coming to television?

Also set to premiere April 13th is 10-part docu-series Years of Living Dangerously, which will air at 10:00.

When Nurse Jackie returns, Jackie is back to using following her relapse in the fifth season finale, a relapse that took place on the one-year anniversary of her becoming sober in the first place. While there’s a chance that she’ll see the error of her ways and make her move toward sobriety, Jackie was still a decades-long addict, someone who learned how to lie very effectively and very persuasively, so it’ll take a lot for someone to A) notice that she’s using again and B) convince her that giving sobriety another shot is the best thing for her and the kids.

Meanwhile, on the final season of Californication, Hank has given up a world tour with Atticus and Faith to give his relationship with Karen another chance, but when he settles into his new job in the writers’ room of the Santa Monica Cop television adaptation, he’ll come face to face with the life of routine and comfort that he’s ran away from for decades. Is this the moment when the great Hank Moody finally packs it in for a life of domestic bliss?

Produced by James Cameron, Years of Living Dangerously takes a look at the hot button topic of climate change, as correspondents (film and television actors, news journalists) travel the globe to showcase the effects of climate change and talk to those who have been impacted by the global phenomenon. The series will also delve into possible solutions for climate change and whether Earth has reached the point of no return in terms of habitability.

You can check out the trailer for Years of Living Dangerously, as well as a new teaser released today, below.

Will you be watching Nurse Jackie this season after the relapse in the fifth season finale? Do you think that Hank will finally end up with Karen on Californication? What do you expect to learn from Years of Living Dangerously?

Good news for the fans of Friends Alum Lisa Kudrow, there are a lot more therapy sessions coming up soon! Yes you heard it; Showtime has decided to extend the comedy series Web Therapy to a fourth season. As we all know, Web Therapy is a comedy show which is based on a therapist giving sessions over the internet and the show is created by Kudrow herself, who also plays the protagonist of the show. The show is jointly produced by Dan Bucatinsky (of Scandal), Don Roos and Lisa Kudrow.

The comedy series has successfully been running for three seasons and till date, has aired around 31 episodes on the premium network of Showtime. The last season, i.e. the third season of Web Therapy was concluded on a very dramatic, leaving the viewers anxious note in September 2013. The nest season will also consist of 10 awesome episodes, the premiere date of which will be decided and announced in the coming months.

In the previous three seasons of Web Therapy, the network collated a couple of short webisodes and filled the other half of the show with some extra content. The webisodes from season 4 & 5 were taken and compiled and aired on television as season 3 featured episodes. For the record, the fifth season of the online version of Web Therapy will wrap up around February.

Production partners Kudrow and Bucatinsky recently had their NBC series Who Do You Think You Are?, to be renewed for TLC. Bucatinsky said that Showtime has been an amazing collaborator for Web Therapy and there couldn’t be a better Network for the original comedy series like Web Therapy than Showtime.

So, are you excited for the renewal of Web Therapy? Well I’m for sure, Kudrow being one of the best comedy actress and my personal favorite. How can one forget her character Phoebe Buffay in Friends!

The episode are also available On Demand, through SHOWTIME ANYTIME, the SHOWTIME preview app for iPhone, iPod Touch, Android smartphones and tablets, Roku devices, Nook and Kindle Fire tablets and on Smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Vizio, Panasonic, and Sony.

When Shameless returns, the Gallaghers are getting by about as well as they ever have with Fiona still working at Worldwide Cup and the household slightly more empty with Ian still gone and Lip at college. However, Frank is still lurking in the shadows and, should he choose, could end up being the stone that sinks the financial and emotional stability gained by his family in his absence.

House of Lies will pick up after the dissolution of the Pod in the second season finale, with Marty starting his own firm, Clyde moving over to work with Monica, and Doug and Jeannie staying on at Galweather, looking to achieve the type of individual success they never could before. However, there’s a danger that the four of them work best when they’re together and that they won’t be able to match their previous success in their new situations.

Finally, Episodes sees turnover at the network with Merc out of a job and Carol possibly assuming his role as head of the network. Sean and Beverly may have patched things up during last season’s finale, but they still have to maneuver through the emotional minefield that stands between them and marital bliss. Additionally, their working relationship isn’t on the most stable ground, as whoever comes in to replace Merc will be looking to make their mark on the network and a cancellation of Pucks! could be the first step toward the network regaining the respectability they lost this season.

The fourth season of Shameless is set to premiere Sunday, January 12th at 9:00 on Showtime, with the third season premieres of House of Lies and Episodes following at 10:00 and 10:30, respectively.

Will you be watching any of Shameless, House of Lies, and Episodes this season? Do you think that the Gallagher family can finally clear the poverty line and begin their ascent toward middle class? Is Pucks! going to be able to survive now that there’s a new network regime in place?

The current season of the former is up 26% from the first four episodes of season three, while the latter is outpacing the first season of Homeland by 33%, in addition to having received critical acclaim for its aesthetic, lead performances, and approaches to topics not covered that often on dramatic television.

“Homeland continues to prove its strength for Showtime, and is one of television’s most exciting, provocative and widely-discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons,” said Nevins. “The critical and audience reaction to Masters of Sex since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying. It’s a privilege to get to work with such talented and creative people as Alex Gansa and Michelle Ashford, as well as their tremendous casts. They have each created truly original shows, with distinctive voices that are among the most admired series on television.”

Next week on Homeland, Dana makes a shocking discovery and Carrie and Saul both get put it uncomfortable positions, while on Masters of Sex, Virginia struggles to connect with Henry, Masters’ worry over becoming a father only increases, and Ethan’s time with Vivian makes a significant impact on his medical career.

Homeland airs Sundays at 9:00 on HBO, while Masters of Sex follows at 10:00.

How does the third season of Homeland compare to seasons one and two? Is Masters of Sex ready to assume the title of Next Great Drama? Should the network keep the two together next year or use each to launch new programming?

The series, from the Magical Elves production team (Top Chef, The Real L Word), finds terminally ill patients as they live out their final days on camera and have their family, friends, and various healthcare professionals guide them through the process.

Included in the series will be a single mother with Stage IV breast cancer; a grandmother, who is also a psychotherapist specializing in death/dying, with pancreatic cancer; a veteran with a rare form of cancer who spends his final days with his parents; and a young woman with Stage IV melanoma. Mortality isn’t a topic unfamiliar to Showtime audiences, as the fourth and final season of The Big C, a series focused on a woman being diagnosed with melanoma, concluded earlier this year.

The series premiere of Time of Death is set to air Friday, November 1st at 9:00 on Showtime.

Will you be watching Time of Death? How does the trailer make the series look? Do you think you’ll be able to make it through the episodes, considering how emotional everything is guaranteed to be?
