While not a done deal because Once has yet to be officially renewed – though there is little doubt that it will be – the fantasy drama will be bringing its spin-off’s most favored face into the fray.  Despite ABC confirming that they will not be continuing the Once spin-off in a second season, Socha has charmed viewers of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland this season as Will Scarlet/Knave of Hearts, the sarcastic, romanic, thief who helped Alice (Sophie Lowe) fight against Jafar.

Of course, it is unclear how exactly Socha will join Once, or whether or not any of his other Wonderland cast members will be following him, though it is nothing to completely discount.  Surely Will Scarlet can add something new to what will be Once Upon a Time‘s fourth season.

Can you imagine him facing off in a sass-contest with the Regia/Evil Queen?  Or better, Leroy/Grumpy?

The show’s April 3rd airing, which has previously been labeled the season finale, is now being billed as the series finale – the final episode of the Once spin-off – a move that is not entirely surprising.

However, there is always the slim possibility that this particular cancellation only means there will be no continuation of a Wonderland setting.  Since the show’s premiere in the fall there has been chatter among fans and critics alike that the show has the ability to become a mini-series a la American Horror Story, with different, self-contained plots each season.

Though not as successful as its predecessor, Once Upon a Time, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland has garnered attention from fans for its single main plot with interconnected characters who, unlike on Once, are not all one big family.  The show has been notably far less self-indulgent than its sister-show in its plot, and of course, simpler.

Though Cora’s life came to an end on OUAT, after attempting to ruin well, everyone’s life, fans have been hoping since the pickup of the sister show for her to make an appearance in Wonderland.  According to TV Guide, series creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have stated to introduce her character to Alice’s world…and now it’s official.

Currently Hershey is scheduled to appear in just one episode of Wonderland, set for March.  Aside from a meet with Alice, who else would you like to see the Queen of Hearts take on, in the delightfully evil Cora-way?  The Red Queen?  Jafar?

Knowing the Disney tale, I for one would be like to see the relationship between the Queen of Hearts and our friend the White Rabbit.

Will someone lose their head?

Other voices for the OUAT spin-off include John Lithgow (3rd Rock from the Sun) as the White Rabbit, and Keith David (The Bible) who was recently cast as the Cheshire Cat.
