Everything is happening! Monday night’s episode of Castle was absolutely superb! If only I could hug Elizabeth Beall, who wrote Monday’s episode. “Dressed to Kill” was highly anticipated and it definitely lived up to the hype.

Frances Fisher was perfectly cast as Matilda King the Editor at Modern Fashion Magazine. She was a Legend, a dragon lady who chewed people and spit them out, but I would say with a sensitive side. We definitely saw that when she got Kate to do her a favor and try on that dress. Oh that lovely dress. More on that later.

So, the case this week brought us back to Kate’s past as a model. I’m sure nobody forgot that huge detail about Detective Beckett. Matilda King, Editor at Modern Fashion Magazine definitely didn’t. Matilda still remembered Kate when she modeled because she offered Kate a job but she said no. In fact Kate was the only person to ever tell Matilda no.

The victim this week was Ella Hayes. She was found in a dumpster. Cause of death, strangulation. She was a former assistant for Matilda King at Modern Fashion Magazine. Never once did I believe Matilda committed the crime but I was totally right about Julian Bruckner, played by the always handsome Rob Estes. Seriously? Does that man not age? I called it almost immediately. Side note: I’m usually never right about who committed the murder, so I was really happy this week.

I cheered Matilda on while she confronted Julian, the ambitious creative director. Julian knew that the designer Yumi, played by the always hilarious Rex Lee, had stolen Ella’s designs and earned his Fab Five ranking by Modern Fashion the wrong way. If it ever came out that the magazine knew about the stolen designs it wouldn’t be good for business so Julian strangled Ella to death with the scarf.

Now for the moment I’ve been dying to talk about! Kate trying on that dress for Matilda left me speechless. She looked absolutely stunning. Maybe it’s me being overly dramatic, but she really did look like a princess. I’ll be honest, when I first saw that promo pic with Kate in the dress I really wasn’t impressed, but seeing it now on screen, I’ve changed my mind. It was absolutely gorgeous. Seeing Kate in it got me emotional and I couldn’t help but tear up. Matilda was speechless and I couldn’t blame her. It was such a sweet scene between them. Frances Fisher and Stana Katic had great chemistry together this episode. I wouldn’t mind seeing her character pop up again somehow.

Matilda: “If I had a daughter this is the exact dress I’d want for her. You are going to make a beautiful bride someday.”

When Kate stood there looking at herself in the mirror then teared up, it made me so sad. Stana was amazing in that moment. I know I’ve said it a million times but Stana doesn’t even have to have any lines, her looks say it all. In that very moment she was thinking about her mother. That scene is probably one of my favorites in this entire season 6.

If you got all excited about the wedding dress, I’m sure you were just as excited as me about talk of a wedding venue. Things were happening and I was very excited. Castle and Beckett saw an ad in one of the wedding magazines about The Cordova House. I thought for sure it would have been the venue but it was not meant to be. When Kate couldn’t get away from the case to see the venue, she told Castle to take Martha. From what we saw, it was gorgeous and it just so happened there was a cancelation and there was an opening for spring 2014! Unfortunately Kate got cold feet and they missed their opportunity. Kate said she didn’t want to rush things, there’s still lots of planning but that wasn’t the whole truth.

I was so happy when Kate told Castle she wasn’t sure she could do all the wedding stuff without her mother and that’s why she got cold feet. I didn’t blame her one bit. I’m not married, but it’s probably one of the biggest things in anyone’s life and to do it without a parent is extremely hard. Kate’s mother has always been a huge part of her life, while she was alive and in her death and for her not to be there on Kate’s big day was upsetting to her.

I started to cry again when Kate told Castle that her mother would have loved him. I didn’t doubt that for one second. I was so happy when Kate said she wanted to find a new venue for the spring. She didn’t want to wait. Plus, she already had the dress. I had the biggest smile on my face when Kate walked into her apartment and saw that huge box with a bow. I knew immediately it was the wedding dress and that note Matilda wrote for Kate, perfection!

“Kate, This dress looks better on you than it ever could on the pages of a magazine. You’ll made a beautiful bride.”

I’m getting so excited for the wedding and it’s only February. I think back to watching the pilot, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think Castle and Beckett would get married. I remember thinking halfway through season 4 they wouldn’t even get together. Now look at where they are. It brings such a huge smile to my face. Such character growth in this show and we owe it all to Marlowe and Co. I truly believe they love this show and the fandom and that’s why I always trust them with the show I love.

What did you guys think of the episode? Did you love it as much as I did? Sound off below!

Soundbites:

Castle: “She was killed by a little old lady, or Katy Perry.”

Matilda: “I never could forget those cheekbones.”

Castle: “Murder is the New Black.”

Castle: “I feel like I’ve waited long enough.”

Castle: “Murder is not his type of accessory.”

Beckett: “I’ll take murderers over models any day.”

Castle: “Their unfortunate misery can be our life-long joy.”

What’s not to love?

Let’s start with the opening scene. When we start off with Castle and Beckett in their jammies, you know the episode is going to be perfection! Not so perfect, Beckett reading an article in the newspaper hinting that Castle was getting back together with his ex-wife. Not to worry, Castle was only having lunch with Gina to discuss his Heat and Storm books. I couldn’t help but laugh when a reporter at the crime scene asked Castle if he was back with his ex-wife. Of course Castle didn’t deny it, and it obviously bothered Beckett. Castle was right though, if he denied it, it would just make things worse. We all know Beckett values her privacy, so she didn’t want Castle to announce their engagement. As long as the press didn’t know about Castle and Beckett, there would always be these articles about Castle and these innocent lunches. You know, because Castle is somewhat famous.

Pi was back this episode. I really didn’t mind seeing him. (I never thought I’d say those words) Pi was brought back because Castle was supposed to write a letter of recommendation for him for his grant application. By the end of this week’s episode though, I don’t think we’ll be seeing much more of him. More on that later on.

The case this week was great. We had Mandy, a rising star who’s life was going in a downward spiral. First she was caught kissing an ex boyfriend at a bar and then her new boyfriend dumped her and then she was found dead in an alley. Huge problem! The body found in the alley was not Mandy. The real victim ended up being Claire Samuels, Mandy’s decoy for the paparazzi.

Castle and Beckett ended up finding Mandy passed out in a hotel room and brought her back to the precinct. I couldn’t help but laugh when Castle was telling Mandy about knowing how she felt about the scrutiny of living your life under a microscope, on a much smaller scale of course. Mandy had no idea who Castle was. That seemed to happen from time to time with Castle. The laughs didn’t stop there. Alexis came into the break room to see Castle and thought he needed some help with Pi’s letter of recommendation. Their conversation quickly turned to Mandy and Alexis was going on and on about how she turned into a hot mess. Alexis’ face was priceless when Mandy revealed herself. Cat got your tongue?

Some how Alexis ended up with Mandy’s cell phone and she went to Mandy’s hotel room to give it back. This gave us an opportunity for a really sweet moment between Alexis and Mandy.

Mandy: “It happens when you’re not looking and by the time you realize it, it’s already who you are.”

Alexandra Chando, who played Mandy was great this episode. I thought Alexandra Chando and Molly Quinn played great off each other. I really felt bad for Alexis when she admitted to Mandy she wished she could disappear from her life. I loved seeing Alexis finally admitting to someone she made a mistake with Pi. You could tell Alexis had really been struggling with this. Alexis didn’t want to admit to Castle that she made a mistake and that Castle was right about her not being ready. I get where Alexis was coming from. Nobody ever wants to admit they were wrong about something. Especially about Pi, since it drove a real wedge between Castle and Alexis not too long ago.

Alexis tried to convince Mandy that the text message she received from her friend Sam was probably a trap and that she shouldn’t go see her friend. Of course Mandy wasn’t going to listen to Alexis so Alexis made the decision to go with Mandy. While at the bar they did find out some interesting information from Sam. According to him, Claire was trying to reach Mandy because she found out somebody was out to get Mandy. Claire was also hot to talk to Jesse, Mandy’s ex. Unfortunately things didn’t go so well, and some people recognized Mandy and made quite the frenzy. Alexis and Mandy were able to escape the bar but found Jesse in his car instead. Mandy was glad to see him, but I’m sure she wasn’t glad to see his gun.

According the Jesse the whole thing was a set up. He got $25,000 to suck face with Claire. Claire was set on getting to Mandy because she had to make things right because she felt bad about everything that had happened. Harvey Stryker from Celeb Gazer.com bought the fake make out photo from a freelancer, but he wasn’t the mastermind behind the whole thing. According to Harvey, he got a tip about the photo.

Dum Dum Dummmmm… the killer turned out to be Mandy’s mother! I so called it from the beginning! What a good twist. Mandy’s mother set up the whole photo op. Mandy’s mother wanted to break up her and her new boyfriend Zach. She said that Zach was ruining Mandy when in fact Zach was the best thing to happen to Mandy. Mandy’s mother was just greedy and she couldn’t let Claire tell Mandy the truth, so she had to get rid of her. She said she did everything for Mandy, but she did it for herself.

Such a sweet moment between Castle and Mandy at the end. Castle told Mandy not to run and hide from all of this. I loved that Alexis brought Zach with her when she came to the precinct. Alexis told Zach the truth, that Mandy didn’t cheat on him. I’m so happy Mandy got to have a second chance.

Happiness turned to sadness when Castle gave Alexis the letter of recommendation for Pi. Alexis couldn’t hide her disappointment. Alexis must be true to herself. She can’t stay in a relationship she’s not happy with because she doesn’t want to prove that Castle was right all along.

The episode ended right where it began, with an article about Castle. This time it was the truth and it was Castle and Beckett’s wedding announcement. Beckett was the one who put their upcoming nuptials in the paper. Beckett came to terms that Castle is somewhat famous. Beckett said if the paper was going to write about him, she wanted it to be the truth, she wanted it to be about them. All together now… Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Castle: “Does it say we’re getting married in space?”

Beckett: “It’s not gonna happen babe”

I seriously love these two. I was so happy Beckett was the one to put the wedding announcement in the paper. I know she values her privacy, but it would have been extremely hard to hide her relationship with Castle especially since they are getting married. As long as Castle was single in the eyes of the press, he would have always been linked to any woman he’d be in contact with. I had to laugh out loud when Castle again mentioned getting married in space. That guy is relentless. I also really loved the scene with Beckett talking on the phone with her dad, convincing him that the article about Castle and Gina wasn’t true. Apparently her aunt had posted the article on her Facebook page. It’s those little light moments in the episodes that I love the most. It was also hilarious that Ryan and Espo on different occasions messed with Beckett about the article. Those two!

The more Castle and Beckett talk about the engagement, the more excited I get! I just hope it’s smooth sailing. Oh! who am I kidding? Where’s the fun in that? So, What did you guys think of the episode? Sound off below!

I’m usually pretty good, but I honestly did not see that ending coming. Before I jump to the end, let’s start at the beginning. Castle’s third episode of the season, “Need To Know” had a great mixture of fun, suspense and many adorable Caskett moments. As a child of the 80’s, I grew up watching Saved by the Bell, so Monday’s episode really brought back some great memories. (I know I know, looking back SBTB was really cheesy, but what did I know? I was 5 when the show began.)

Much to my annoyance, Pi was still around. Even though I can’t stand him, that guy could not ruin the cutest Caskett moment ever. Castle and Beckett video chatting in bed was beyond adorable. I could not wipe the smile off my face as Beckett kissed her phone and Castle grabbed the kiss and wiped it all over his face. For me, that ranks right up there with the best handshake ever scene from last season.

Our victim this week was ex sitcom star, Charlie Reynolds. Poor guy was found dead on a hook. Of course Castle insinuated himself into the investigation, but the shock came when Agents McCord and Beckett took over the investigation. I still find it strange calling Beckett an agent. Although, I don’t have to anymore, but more on that later.

We learned from Charlie’s co-star Ramon Russo, guest star Antonio Sabato Jr., that him and Charlie were filming a reunion movie for “2 Cool For School.” Something fanboy Ryan was very excited about. Apparently the Russians were financing the movie. According to Ryan “2 Cool For School” was huge in Russia. “2 Cool For School” is to Russia, what David Hasselhoff is to Germany. For the Russians, the movie was all a front to smuggle illegal weapons into the U.S. It turns out the CIA recruited Charlie to spy on the Russians. According to the CIA agent, Charlie was an excellent spy but he was looking for a way out. He wanted to escape with his love Svetlana, Anton’s niece. Charlie knew Svetlana wanted out of that life and was going to help her escape. Just when you thought the Russian’s had Charlie killed, the killer turns out to be Ramon. Ramon wanted his career back and Charlie wanted to walk away from everything, ruining Ramon’s chances for getting his old life back. The typical crime of passion. Isn’t that always the case?

Throughout the episode, the audience could really sense Beckett’s frustration about her new position. She was conflicted, and I didn’t blame her one bit. I was a bit shocked when Beckett gave Castle the usb key with the satellite footage of Charlie going into the warehouse. I didn’t think Beckett would do that, but she did something riskier later on. I cheered Captain Gates on when she told McCord and Beckett that Charlie’s killer should not go unpunished. Something Beckett was in agreement with. McCord didn’t seem to care though. Beckett is all about getting justice for the victim’s, something McCord wasn’t really interested in.

What the CIA did next really pushed Beckett over the edge. They wanted Svetlana to spy on her own family and take Charlie’s place. The CIA agent threatened to expose her if she didn’t do it. Beckett heard all of it and wasn’t impressed. It was crazy of Beckett to tip off the press about Svetlana being under investigation for her alleged ties to Russian organized crime. Essentially getting her family to cut ties with her so she’ll be to no use to the CIA. I understood why Beckett did it. You saw the frustration building and that was the last straw.

This show really needs to stop with these fakes outs though. There’s no way Castle was going to break up with Kate, but when Castle said this long distance thing isn’t working, it made me nervous and it make Beckett nervous too. Of course we had nothing to worry about. Castle found an apartment in D.C. for him and Beckett. Castle said he could write from anywhere. Yes! thank you writers! The next scene threw a huge wrench into that plan.

The Feds found out that Kate tipped off the press and McCord told Kate she was fired! Is it bad that I’m quite happy about this? Don’t get me wrong, I loved that Beckett took the job in D.C. She deserved it but the back and forth was killing me. I just never thought Beckett would get fired. Here she is doing something she believed in, honouring the victim, and she gets punished for it. She started to realize that to do that job you had to “overlook” and let other things/crimes go, and that’s never what she’s been about. She’s always been about searching for the truth no matter what and trying to get justice for the victim and their loved ones. I think this a good thing for Beckett. She was really compromising what she believed in for that job. Now she can get back to what she does best.

There were so many hilarious lines from this episode, let’s relive some of the moments.

“Former child star, literally getting the hook.” – Castle

“2 Cool for School is a timeless gem.” – Ryan

“Maybe you are Judas’ Judas.” – Esposito

“I can’t even look at you right now.” – Esposito (A throw back to Tick, Tick, Tick…)

“Castle, you’re not going to Castle me on this one.” – Beckett

“It’s too late, pretty boy. We already cast the muscular P.E. teacher.” – Hank Harper

“She’s coming. Nod once if it’s about the Russians, twice if it’s about something else. Three times.. what is.. what does…what does that mean? I don’t know what that means!” – Castle

“I take it you’re finishing up paperwork on the case you are no longer investigating?” – Captain Gates

I had to laugh out loud when we found out the Nikki Heat movie went straight to dvd. I always wondered whatever happened to the movie. This episode was a total hoot, and the Castle and Beckett scenes were amazing. Being engaged really does suit these two. It’ll be really interesting to see what happens next for Beckett since she did just get fired. How quickly will she go back to the NYPD? What will happen to Sully? And my big question, where is Lanie?

Now it’s your turn readers. What did you guys think of the episode? How shocked were you that Beckett was fired? I’d love to read your comments. Sound off below.

The intense conclusion to the Castle season 6 premiere was last night and “Dreamworld” pretty much had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The second episode of the season had such a serious and intense tone. I had to remind myself that we’re only September. How am I going to survive November sweeps? The stakes were incredibly high this episode. Castle’s life was on the line and Beckett was determined to find the antidote and save Castle’s life. Yes I know, they would never kill off Castle but it was still incredibly intense.

So, let me break this down. This man Rasheed was following our victim Bronson. Except that wasn’t the case. It turned out Bronson was the one following Rasheed. The night of the missile strike, Bronson was holding the body of a young woman and Rasheed saw this. Bronson threatened him and left with the body. Here comes the plot twist I didn’t see coming. Valkyrie turned out to be a code name for an American intelligence operative. Secretary of Defense Reed killed this agent and made Bronson cover it up. This agent was the body that Bronson was holding. Reed lied about everything. Brad Parker, the reporter we met was also connected. He was engaged to Farrah Usman, the operative. Confused yet? My mind was going a mile a minute just trying to keep up with the case. Brad Parker was hell bent on revenge and his next victim was Secretary Reed. Castle and Beckett doing what they do best figured out Parker wasn’t going to go after Reed, but was going to go after Reed’s wife. That was actually a pretty nice twist to the story.

When Castle fell unconscious to the ground, my heart just sank. I could see in Beckett’s eyes she wanted to stay with Castle, but there really wasn’t much she could do. The only thing she could do was go after Parker and get the antidote. I just loved the look on Beckett’s face. She turned into badass Beckett. Have I mentioned how much I love badass Beckett? Despite Parker getting the better of Beckett, he didn’t have what she had. A partner to back him up. I was so happy when McCord came to back up Beckett. I really enjoy their partnership, but I really miss the dynamic of Beckett, Castle, Ryan, and Espo. We won’t have to wait very long for that though. I’m sure everyone knows Lisa Edelstein was only guest starring for 3 episodes, which means next episode will be her last. (For now, because who knows.) I really enjoyed Beckett in D.C., but I think it’s time to bring her back to NYC.

Just like Beckett, I really wanted to see Secretary Reed fry for what he did. He got off scott free of course. “You want everything to be black or white I get it. But in this town it rarely is. And to do this job you have to make peace with that.” Yes McCord, Beckett does. By the look on Beckett’s face, is she starting to regret taking this position? She wanted justice and that didn’t happen. Beckett is all about justice. She really believed she was going to take this position and get the bad guys. In this case, that didn’t happen. I really don’t think Beckett can make peace with that. Her facial expression at the end spoke volumes. That’s all Stana Katic. She doesn’t even have to say anything. You can tell everything she’s feeling by her facial expressions.

Things that drove me a little nutty: Lack of Ryan and Espo tonight, and no Gates or Lanie. I’m really missing the rest of my favourite cast on television. I did love that Martha went to Ryan and Esposito for help when she was understandably worried about Castle. There wasn’t much they could do, except call Beckett. I didn’t blame Beckett for lying to them, but it did hurt.

Thank goodness we got some sweet, less intense moments in this episode because I don’t think I could have handled a full episode of suspense. Kate’s “I’m not letting you out of our engagement that easily” made both Castle and I smile. I need more of these moments. I also need more Caskett moments. When Castle woke up in that hospital bed and saw Beckett, Martha, Alexis, and Pi (don’t get me started on Pi), I had so many feels. Especially since the Caskett theme played in the background.

Despite Castle thinking he was going to die earlier in the episode, I really loved the scene between him, Martha, and Alexis. Castle tried to cover up what was going on but Alexis and Martha knew something was up. Castle was serious and wasn’t his smart aleck self. Martha was way to smart for that.

Another scene I really loved but made me even more emotional, was when Castle asked McCord how Beckett was doing in Washington. This scene truly showed the depth of Castle’s love for Beckett. I took this scene to mean, despite the possibility he was going to die, he was concerned about Beckett and her work and how she would be. Castle’s character development over the years is truly amazing. That’s what really makes me fall in love with these characters. They’ve grown so much, as they should. I’ve already fallen in love with this season, and we’re only 2 episodes in.

Next week’s episode, “Need to Know” brings Beckett and McCord to NYC to take over the NYPD’s case. Let the hijinks begin!

Now it’s your turn readers. What did you guys think of the episode? How awesome was badass Beckett going after Parker? Are you ready for a lot more of Ryan and Espo? Because I know I am! Hopefully we get to see Lanie and Gates next episode also. I’d love to read your comments. Sound off below.

Is it next Monday yet?
