Why are they pushing the relationship so hard? Ruby remains unpleasant, at best. Lavon was hurt by Lemon, but that is hardly a good reason to jump into another doomed experience by forcing the hand of someone who obviously doesn’t want to commit. She is far larger than Bluebell, and the simple life Lavon offers won’t make her happy. If it does for a month, it won’t for years.

If this is all being done to show us that Lemon can finally put someone’s feelings above her own, she proved it and we can move on. Let’s let Ruby go, Lemon swoop in and save the day. Ta da! I should be a screenwriter. They’ve also succeeded in showing Zoe and Lemon can get along. They’re good for comic relief and I look forward to the day the two of them and Annabeth have a girls night out. Might Tancy even end up at the party?

That’s my segue to what I really want to discuss. The quadrangle of Zoe, Wade, George and Tancy.

It was very cool of George to talk to Wade before asking out Tancy. I’m not sure if his motives of doing so were pure, or merely to get under Wade’s skin but, either way, there was a genuine connection between George and Tancy and it deserves a chance to bloom. At first I was getting perturbed that Wade was making such a big deal out of it, after all, he has Zoe. He knows George wants Zoe, so to deny him the opportunity to date Tancy is like rubbing salt in the wound.

Then Wade made his case against George. His concern was George would use Tancy as a hurdle to get to what he really wants. Things get really confusing here, because even thinking along these lines requires Wade to admit to himself he wants more from Zoe than a casual fling. He doesn’t want George using Tancy on his way to Zoe any more than he wants George getting to Zoe without jumping over Tancy to get there.

George tried to appeal to Team Wade by letting Wade know that not only did he not consider Tancy more than a ‘placeholder,’ he also thought if that’s how Wade thought Zoe felt about him, then he should talk to her about it. He said he had known about the two of them for a while, surprising Wade. The information later surprised Zoe even more. Of course, George doesn’t know about their arrangement. I don’t think Zoe and Wade are even straight on what their arrangement is any longer, but it was very obvious when Wade told Zoe that Zoe still doesn’t know her true feelings for Wade.

For that, Zoe is getting on my nerves. She told George to go out and sow his wild oats. She’s the one keeping them apart if they are truly meant to be together, and now Wade is getting hurt in the process. First she hurt George, and now she’s hurting Wade. We learned through Wade’s tale of four hours as an Eagle Ranger that he felt less than as a boy. Most likely, less than George Tucker. Despite his current bravado adult attitude, Zoe is feeding his childhood insecurities by not being honest with him or herself.

It’s time for both George and Wade to have a come to Jesus moment with Zoe Hart. No more games. Too many people are going to get caught in the cross fire. Both couple could have great potential, but we need to play to that instead of seeing pain on the faces of the men in love with Zoe.

There are many things I could say in defense of both couples, but I’m going to switch course for the week. George and Wade seem to know what they want. I’m tossing my hat into the ring and going all out for Team Gade. Who’s with me?

Honestly, I’m not down with flashback episodes. The have to be done very well to get my attention, and I think in recent years they’ve been overdone on television. That said, until the pieces started coming together on Revenge “Lineage,” I was a little bit bored. The payoff at the end, culminating with everything we learned really made it worth watching, so I’m glad I stuck with it. Let’s break it down piece by piece.

Emily (Amanda) and Aiden – Admittedly, I was surprised to learn Emily was the one to pull Aiden into Takeda’s world and they didn’t meet while he was already in it. Part of my skepticism about him and their relationship has been that I didn’t understand the power dynamic between them. It was a clever twist to throw the teenage Emily into the world of Aiden as he was seeking his own revenge on his sister’s kidnapping. She was quite the ass kicker, and I enjoyed the way he was telling her she needed to get out there and her retort that she could take care of herself. All very bored in shows and movies, really, but the Takeda edge and Emily kicking her way into the room to save Aiden was a fun way to get to know the trials Taikeda put Emily through before thoroughly helping her in her own revenge plot. Also cool she and Aiden bribed Takeda into taking Aiden into the Revenge School.

I have a new understanding and commitment in Emily and Aiden and their future together. I’m truly rooting for them. Together they are the only two people, other than Nolan and Takeda, they can sincerely trust. Emily sharing her double infinity box with Aiden and him calling her Amanda were cherries on the story. I do wonder as well, did Takeda put them together on purpose? Their families were both pawns in the downing of the jetliner and truly screwed by Dmitri and whoever was above him. That couldn’t have been fortuity. The only thing that I do find difficult as we move along is the more people know Emily as Amanda, the more difficult it gets to write about the character, because she really is two distinct people, as are the other Emily and Amanda. Do I have to start adding Fauxs to their names? And then which one becomes the faux? Tough stuff there people!

Nolan – Learning a little bit about Nolan and his company’s IPO was interesting for two reasons. One would be to pound the final nail into any doubt anyone might have of his loyalty to David and, therefore his daughter, Amanda (Emily!). Oh – an offside here – was the photo showed of David Clarke a different actor, am I losing my mind? Giving Emily $500 million is astounding. The second thing we learned was what poor choices Nolan made in relationships. When his CFO and lover, Marco Romero, believed the news over Nolan, I was heartbroken for him. Nolan Ross is clearly one of the most intriguing characters on television. Gabriel Mann played the scene perfectly, with just the right amount of tears, as he defended his need to be trusted over newspapers and corporate giants. Now what on earth does Daniel want with Marco? Nolan does love a good CFO, doesn’t he?

Victoria and the Graysons – Well. That happened. Victoria’s childhood was pure terror, and it wasn’t the kind where she got to skate away from it. Nearly indicted by grand jury for killing her mother’s boyfriend? She wasn’t kidding when she told dear old mom she learned from the best. As horrific as her childhood was, I wish her own life had turned out differently. Instead it’s always fraught with anxiety and mistrust. She ended up in situations nearly the same as the one she grew up in, which is a very sad statement on Victoria Grayson.

The thing I didn’t see coming was Victoria’s elaborate plan to get her mother dumped one final time. All to try to get some revenge of her own and put out the flame of hatred that had been haunting her for her entire life. Conrad didn’t have to ask if it helped, because you could see in her eyes that Victoria was no happier for having made her mother miserable than she was before the charade.

From what Conrad read of Daniel’s poetry, he should have let him become a poet. I guess it’s ironic that they’re now fighting their son’s takeover of the Grayson board, not because they don’t want him to lead the company, but because they’re afraid of what will happen to Daniel when he takes the wheel. Just who are these people lead by Helen Crowley? What is the initiative and it’s purpose?

The Porters – Six years ago The Porters were still being hounded by financial woes on the docks. All of their problems today started six years ago because thugs wanted “protection” money and nobody wanted to give it. Isn’t it funny that the protection money is always money to be protected from the very people who are asking for the money in the first place? Maybe not funny, but strange. A bastard thug gets killed being what he his, a thug, and six years later his sons are still causing problems. Question is, do Kenny and his brother know Carl Porter was the killer of their dad Joe?

So it was a nicely done flashback episode that I didn’t expect to quite so good. How about you? Did the background help with the story or would you have been just as happy to figure it out on your own?

Did you listen to me? I sure hope so. I took a while to suss it out, but Rick was suffering a little break and talking to dead people. It was just the jarring he needed to get his head out of his ass and get back to his people, most notably his son and daughter. Andrew Lincoln did some fantastic work on that phone. As an actor, I’d imagine those are some of the most difficult scenes to do as all of the emotion is pulled from your own space and not those working around you.

I wish we had been spared the scenes between Andrea and The Governor. I felt more comfortable watching innards pouring all over Michonne than I did seeing Andrea’s naked butt in bed with The Governor. It’s pretty bad when The Walking Dead are more appealing than the living, but that dude freaks me out.

How did I miss the connection between the Woodbury hunts for people like Michonne and previously the killing of the Army team with the brutality of the staged event with the Walkers? Nothing about them is staged when they send their own people straight outside to do the same thing to living people. It means they really don’t see the difference between humans and walkers any more. Anything that isn’t with them, is against them.

Glenn and Maggie got caught by Merle. I’m sure they’re in for a very, very rude introduction to the seedier side of Woodbury. It was interesting that The Governor wanted to know straight away whether or not Andrea knew them. What difference does it make to him? He can’t possibly want to engage them as friends for her, nor can he think she’ll be happy to see them being tortured for information.

After Michonne was done slaughtering all of Merle’s buddies, she happened to see him capture Glenn and Maggie as well as them dropping the basket of baby formula. That woman has a great head on her shoulders. It was a pretty awesome moment when she showed up, formula in hand, standing among the walkers at the fence of the prison. Rick couldn’t believe his eyes, but I don’t think he was about to question his good fortune. You could see in his eyes that he knew she was something different from everyone else they’ve come across so far.

The awwww moment of the night was when Daryl recognized Carol’s knife in one of the walker’s heads while clearing out the prison. He was beside himself trying to figure out how it could have gotten there and where she could be. He finally found her and I realized they’ve become my favorite romantic hope of The Walking Dead. From the abusive bastard she was with, she found a diamond in the rough.

The season continues to wow me. What about you, are you wowed too?
