From June 2nd through June 30th, back-to-back episodes of both critically-acclaimed series will be offered Monday through Friday at 8:00. Beginning July 3rd, however, back-to-back episodes will air every Thursday night through November 13th; all seasons of both Queer as Folk and The L Word will be available through SHOWTIME ON DEMAND and the network’s authenticated service SHOWTIME ANYTIME starting this summer.

Based on the Russell T. Davies series of the same name, Queer as Folk told the story of a group of gay friends in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as they searched for their place in the world, came to terms with what it means to be gay, and attempted to find true happiness in a world that could sometimes be cruel. The GLAAD Award-winning series starred the likes of Hal Sparks (Spider-Man 2), Robert Gant (Personal Affairs), Gale Harold (The Secret Circle), Randy Harrison (Gayby), Scott Lowell (Trapped Ashes), Peter Paige (Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in All the World), and Sharon Gless (Burn Notice).

Taking place in Los Angeles, The L Word focused on a group of female friends – both gay and straight – as they dealt with issues of identity, career, love, age, and fidelity. The series, which was created by Ilene Chaiken (Black Box), starred the likes of Jennifer Beals (The Chicago Code), Laurel Holloman (Boogie Nights), Leisha Hailey (All Over Me), Mia Kirshner (Defiance), Katherine Moennig (Ray Donovan), and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown).

You can check out trailers for both Queer as Folk and The L Word below.

Will you be watching any of the Queer as Folk or The L Word re-airings? Do you think a show like Looking could be possible without the positive impact both shows left? When will we see The Next Great Gay Drama on premium cable?
