He’s slated to play SSR Chief Roger Dooley, the tough but fair-minded male lead of the series who will oversee agents Carter (Hayley Atwell), Thompson (Chad Michael Murray), and Sousa (Enver Gjokaj).

Created by Christopher Markus (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader), Marvel’s Agent Carter tells the story of Strategic Scientific Reserve worker Peggy Carter, who must balance the office work she does with the covert missions she participates in. The series also stars Dominic Cooper (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) as founding member of SHIELD Howard Stark and James D’Arcy (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) as Stark’s butler Edwin Jarvis, who will eventually serve as a mentor to Howard’s son Tony.

In addition to his role on the HBO period drama, Whigham has appeared in the likes of True Detective, The Wolf of Wall Street, and American Hustle.

Marvel’s Agent Carter is set to premiere in early 2015 on ABC, where it will air during Agent of SHIELD‘s planned hiatus. No trailer has been released as of yet.

Will you be watching Marvel’s Agent Carter? How do you think the show will compare to Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD? Who else would you like to see join the show?

The two join Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell on the panel for the morning chat show, which recently said goodbye to co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy.

“These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table,” said Bill Wolff, executive producer. “This mix of smart, vibrant and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television.”

Perez becomes the second Oscar nominee on the panel following Goldberg. The Artistic Chair of Urban Arts Partnership and a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, she recently signed on to Larry David’s debut Broadway play Fish in the Dark, which The View will work around in order to keep her on the panel. She’s best known for her roles in White Men Can’t Jump and Do The Right Thing.

Best-selling author Wallace most recently served as a political commentator for MSNBC. She has experience in the political field, as well, as she served as communications chief for George W. Bush’s White House and re-election campaign and senior advisor for the McCain-Palin campaign in 2008.

Though Wallace was thought to be one of the frontrunners for the position, if for no other reason than her conservative political beliefs and experience with this type of format, Perez was a bit of a surprise, with her last guest hosting appearance coming in February. Other possible candidates for the vacancies on the panel included October Gonzalez, Sunny Hostin, and Sage Steele.

The 18th season of The View is set to premiere Monday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. You can check out a recent appearance from Wallace below, as well as a look at Perez’s most recent appearance on the daytime talk show.

Will you be watching the next season of The View? Do you think the show made a wise decision in hiring Perez and Wallace? If not, who would you have rather seen get the nod?

Friday sees a one-hour Last Man Standing season premiere, a two-hour Shark Tank premiere, and a delayed launch for new comedy Cristela; Sundays, meanwhile, will have a delayed premiere for America’s Funniest Home Videos.

Through April 6th, full current seasons of the likes of Nashville, The Neighbors, and Grey’s Anatomy will be posted on Hulu, ABC.com, and the WATCH ABC app, available on iOS, Kindle Fire and select Android devices. The move is designed to help several key shows produced by the network get additional sampling or find a live ratings boost in the final months of the regular season. Involved in the Binge Watch Week are more than a few bubble shows and each additional eye they pick up will go a long way toward securing additional seasons, so if you were thinking of watching something but kept putting it off or fell behind on watching something you enjoy, now is the time to strap yourself to the couch and marathon away.

Below is a list of every show involved in Binge Watch Week, as well as corresponding links to watch episodes.

ABC reveals its 2014 schedule Tuesday, May 13th. They’re currently the only network that has yet to give an early renewal to one of their veteran shows, though the likes of Once Upon a Time, Grey’s Anatomy, and Scandal are all locks for a spot on the 2014-2015 schedule.

Which shows will you be catching up on during Binge Watch Week? Do you think that this will make a difference in the ratings for any show involved? How do you expect the network to treat their remaining bubble shows as far as what they choose to renew and what they choose to cancel?

Beginning this coming Tuesday, the network will begin airing encores of hit midseason drama Resurrection, with utility player Celebrity Wife Swap set to premiere April 15th. Mind Games is the third ABC drama to be swallowed up by the Tuesdays at 10:00 slot, following in the footsteps of Lucky 7, the first cancellation of the season, and Killer Women.

It’s been a particularly weak season for ABC drama, as aside from the trio of Tuesday failures, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Betrayal, and The Assets were all non-starters and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD hasn’t been the type of performer that most were expecting it to be. Without Resurrection, which has already begun a steady descent in the ratings, the ABC 2013-2014 drama slate would have nearly been a total bust, which makes their pilot choices all the more interesting. The network could very well become gun-shy about launching new dramas and opt to kept a mediocre in-house produced performer like Nashville vs. taking a risk on an additional freshman drama, while the four hours of comedy that were on the fall schedule might evolve in some way as a response to the weakened drama slate.

Mind Games starred Christian Slater and Steve Zahn as two brothers who run a problem solving firm that employs solutions based on the art of psychological manipulation. The show featured the likes of Jaime Ray Newman, Megalyn Echikunwonke, and Wynn Everett.

Do you think ABC should have allowed Mind Games to play out its episode order? What should the network do next season when it comes to Tuesdays at 10:00? Why has ABC has such a difficult time launching a drama in this particular time slot this season?

Among the new additions will be The Bachelor spin-off Bachelor in Paradise, which brings back some of the franchise’s biggest names for a second chance at finding love; The Astronaut Wives Club, a scripted drama from Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl) that tells the story of women bonded by their husbands’ dangerous occupation and the media spotlight they’re thrust into as a result; Rising Star, a singing competition where the audience has final say in real time thanks to an App; The Quest, a reality series from the producers of Lord of the Rings; and The Black Box, which stars Kelly Reilly as world-renowned Catherine Black, who struggles to hide her bipolarity from everyone in her life.

Other noteworthy moves from ABC were Mistresses retaining its Mondays at 10:00 slot, where it will again face off against ratings powerhouse Under the Dome; venerable reality-competition series Wipeout being placed in the path of Big Brother; and Motive being moved to Wednesdays, away from the Thursday post-Rookie Blue slot it aired during season one.
