And to keep the excitement going, Netflix has released a new batch of photographs from the new season. The pictures are a mixed bag. without saying anything about the season 2 episodes. We also get to see the entry of the newcomers on the show – David Clennon and Molly Parker. Netflix has kept the suspense alive by not disclosing the name of their characters, but by the look of the pictyre, they sure seem to have intense roles in this season.

Netflix is going to release all the 13 episodes of the second season of House of Cards in one go. Maintaining their mantra of non-stop viewing, Netflix strongly feels that streaming is the future of television. Well, we have to agree with them for the fact that their website is doing incredibly well, especially when Orange is the new black and house of cards were nominated for this year’s Golden Globes.

The show picks up from where season 1 ended and that is when Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) takes on to the position of the Vice President. Netflix scored two slots on the list with House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, while other new entries included FX spy drama The Americans, Showtime period drama Masters of Sex, ABC political soap Scandal, and HBO political comedy Veep, the latter of which is coming off Emmy wins for Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale. The rest of the AFI Top 10 of 2013 list was made up of the most recent seasons of Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Good Wife, and Game of Thrones.

It’s been a particularly award-heavy time for the TV industry, as the Writers Guild, Producers Guild, and International Press Academy have all announced nominations for their respective awards in recent weeks. Freshman series that have made noise include Masters of Sex and Orange is the New Black, both of which stand a reasonable chance of breaking into Golden Globe, SAG, and Emmy races later in the season.

Other notable nominees include Game of Thrones, being honored in Outstanding Achievement in Drama and Program of the Year; Homeland, who only snagged one nomination and found none of its cast honored; Vera Farmiga, adding to her Critics’ Choice nomination with recognition from TCA; and Sundance Channel, which found both Top of the Lake and Rectify earning nods.
