Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 

Cobie Smulders, who has played S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in both The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be reprising her character in the April 29th episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Smulders’ character previously appeared in the series’ pilot back in September.

Not only is this the actress’s first series appearance since How I Met Your Mother bowed out on March 31st, but it will mark the first time S.H.I.E.L.D.-faithful have seen Agent Hill since the events of the Captain America sequel.

According to TVLine, Hill will play a large role in the episode, which is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s first in this year’s May sweeps.

S.H.I.E.L.D. boss Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will also resurface in the series’ May 13th finale.

May sweeps runs from April 24th to May 21st, 2014.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD

Acker will appear in at least one episode of the superhero-sized drama as Audrey, the famous cellist first mentioned in The Avengers as the love of Agent Coulson’s life.  Living as a musician in Portland – and a talented one at that – Audrey of course still believes Coulson to be dead and has no idea that he has been guarding her from a distance as a super-powered threat from her past reappears.

Audrey, who has previously been a nameless cellist, was previously mentioned earlier this season when Raina leaked to Coulson that his former lover had cried for days after his death.

Acker is currently a series regular on Person of Interest.  Her previous television credits include Whedon’s Dollhouse and Angel, as well as spots on Once Upon a Time and Alias.

Acker’s episode is currently set to air on Tuesday, April 22nd.

As Lee told The Hollywood Reporter, his upcoming role on the superhero drama is more than just a cameo – it’s a “big role.”  However, the details on exactly who he will be playing are unclear.  The episode is expected to air February 4th, though that may change.

He also serves as an executive producer to the series.

Lee is known for his numerous cameos in Marvel’s movies, playing extras with minor speaking roles, including a music-listening, oblivious librarian in The Amazing Spider-Man.  His TV appearances include a spot as himself on The Big Bang Theory, and he wil be taking on his first starring role in Stan Lee’s Mighty 7, an animated movie in which he mentors superheros while writing about their adventures in comic books.  The movie is set to premiere on the Hub Network on February 1st at 8 PM.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 

A sort-of-sequel to the Marvel film franchise, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows Agent Coulson and his team as they investigate the more…super variety of crime around the world.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was arguably the most anticipated of the new fall season , and premiered last month to record numbers, pulling in 12.1 million total viewers and a 4.7 rating among viewers 18-49.  The opening was the hightest rated for a drama in nearly four years.

Subsequent episodes have dipped from the loftly premiere, but most recently, S.H.I.E.L.D. edged out NCIS for the number 2 spot at 8 PM.

To date, the hero drama ranks as the Number 1 new show of the 2013-2014 TV season with the 18-49 demo.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 8 PM ET on ABC.

Agents of SHIELD picks up following the conclusion of the battle of New York, with the public fully aware of the existence of superheroes and aliens. What they don’t know, though, is that Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) has assembled a group of agents from the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division with the intention of going after The Rising Tide, an as-yet-unknown enemy group who could pose a serious threat going forward. Their first task toward bringing down the mysterious organization is to track down a man who has acquired supernatural powers that could leave behind a trail of devastation and destruction, should they fail to act soon enough.

In addition to Gregg, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD stars Ming-Na Wen (SGU Stargate Universe) as Agent Melinda May, an ace pilot and weapons expert; Brett Dalton (Killing Lincoln) as black ops specialist Agent Grant Ward; Chloe Bennet (Intercept) as computer hacker Skye; Iain De Caestecker (The Little Vampire) as Agent Leo Fitz, a technology expert; and Elizabeth Henstridge (Delicacy) as life science specialist Agent Jemma Simmons.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 8:00 on ABC. You can check out a promo for the second episode, titled “0-8-4,” below.
