Lucy Hale Biography - Photos - TV Shows - Videos - Other Info

Multi-talented Memphis native Lucy Kate Hale burst onto the pop culture scene at the tender age of 13 when she tried out for American Juniors, the 2003 American Idol spin-off that focused on younger contestants. After performing a rendition of Blondie's "Call Me" in the final round of the live competition, she became a member of the group, which disbanded in 2005 after releasing one failed album. Other familiar names that appeared on the one-season experiment were The Secret Life of the American Teenager's Katelyn Tarver, pop singer Kristinia DeBarge, and The Thompson Sisters, who were a part of The Voice's first season in 2011. Hale then began focusing on her acting career, where she appeared in episodes of How I Met Your Mother and Wizards of Waverly Place before landing her first series regular role on NBC's short-lived re-imagining of Bionic Woman. She played the younger sister to the title character in eight episodes. Later, she appeared in every episode of The CW's one-season dramedy Privileged and currently stars as Aria Montgomery, one of the four principal characters on ABC Family mystery Pretty Little Liars. For the role, where she has an on again-off again relationship with an older man and tries to figure out who is stalking/mess with her and her friends, she's earned several Teen Choice Awards. She's continued to pursue her musical aspirations four songs to television movie A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, which she starred in with Freddie Stroma and Missi Pyle.

"I love music so much and that kind of takes away from the fact that I am missing out on some things. When I am home I hang out with my friends and go to dances, so I try and partake in some of the activities that I miss out on." - on what she's had to sacrifice to get where she is.

"I overanalyze things way too much, to the point where it affects my life. Like, when I'm talking to a boy, I'll overanalyze a text message he sent. And I have to think to myself, 'Just chill out. Some guy sent me a text message. That's all. Don't read something into it that's not there. Just be glad he sent you a text message!'" - on how her mind works.

"I feel like girls in general will always worry about the same things, and it's all appearance related. That will always be there. When you grow older, you grow more confident with who you are." - on growing up.
