powerDeadline is reporting that upcoming Starz crime drama Power has added former MTV VJ La La Anthony and stage actor Andy Bean to its cast. The former is set to play LaKeisha, childhood friend of the main character’s wife Tasha who doesn’t know everything about her friend’s life, while the latter will portray Greg, Angela’s super-fit and overprotective boyfriend who isn’t exactly the men he seems to be.

From The Good Wife‘s Courtney Kemp Agboh, Power tells the story of nightclub owner James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), a man living a life that others can only dream of. He has the money, power, and status to do what he wants and be who he wants, his worth continuing to rise and his dream of running a Fortune 500 company seemingly within reach. However, what very few people in his life know is that he’s also a kingpin of a lucrative drug network. When he decides that he wants to cut ties with that part of himself and go legit, he finds that getting out of the drug game is much more difficult than getting in.

In addition to her hosting experience, Anthony stars in VH1 reality series La La’s Full Court Life and has appeared on episodes of Single Ladies, Let’s Stay Together, and NYC 22, while this will be Bean’s first series regular television role. They join a cast that includes Naturi Naughton (The Client List) as Ghost’s wife Tasha, Lela Loren (The Shield) as Ghost’s ex Angela, and Joseph Sikora (Boardwalk Empire) as Jimmy, Ghost’s childhood friend and business partner.

The eight-episode first season of Power is set to premiere sometime in 2014. Power will be one of several new series coming to Starz next year, along with pirate drama Black Sails and fantasy drama Outlander.
