Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and welcome back Randy Jackson!

Its official, the brand new season of American Idol will see a comeback of former judge, Randy Jackson and the former Jazz singer and Idol mentor, Harry Connick Jr. is going to be the new judge on the show. It will be the third season for star judges, Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban, whom the Idol fans totally adore. Unlike other talent hunts, American Idol doesn’t seem to follow the trend of a young judging panel for its upcoming season and clearly taking the classic road, with an amalgamation of talent, persona and insightful experiences.

The new judge in the house, Harry Connick Jr. is a musical prodigy and quite an entertainer himself and an amazingly honest mentor. He is pretty excited about his contribution to the young talent and help turning the aspiring singers of Idol 13 into stars. Connick said that he is a greatest fan of the show and was indeed honored when they asked him to judge this time. The team is also geared up to have old friend, Randy Jackson back in the team, who will be playing a new role of a mentor, this thirteenth season. With this, Ryan Seacrest, who is the face of American Idol, also returns back as the host!

It was quite challenging for the last season of American Idol to maintain ratings with the absence of Ryan Seacrest and the never-ending battles between the divas, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, a total distraction from the performances.

Nevertheless, we are just glad to see the final judgment panel as it’s totally worth the wait after the prolonged speculations. Amongst the other artists who were considered for the judges were producer Dr. Luke, singer/producer Will.i.am, Scooter Braun, who is the manager of Justin Bieber and a couple of former Idol winners.

Randy’s happiness is uncanny. In his latest statement he has expressed how glad he is to rejoin the show which has grown so much over the years. He also said that American Idol is all set to unearth the hidden talent of America and transform them into superstars of the future.

American Idol will be back with its thirteenth season in January 2014, the production of which starts today (September 3) in Boston.
